We did see 4 spiders...3 in master bathroom and one in the front extra bedroom. the water heater made loud noises all night the 1st night. i could not sleep very well with that going on. the house was extremely cold when we arrived also. it was 43 degrees in the house per the thermostat on the kitchen counter.

From the owner:
"We appreciate you sharing your feedback about your stay. Because the home is located in a wooded, wilderness area, spiders can occasionally appear despite the home being regularly treated for pests. Regarding the water heater, it's in the laundry room and separated from the bedrooms by a closet, bathroom, and insulated walls, so it would not be audible from the sleeping areas. The thermostat measures the outdoor temperature rather than the indoor temperature, and the home has propane heaters along the walls in each room so guests can adjust the heat to their comfort. Thank you for letting us know about your visit."
Great location. We come to Eagle Nest to enjoy the lake. This cabin is close to the lake and to the village. This is the second time we’ve stayed here, it is very spacious and comfortable. Thank you!

Unacceptable House
To be short: too many mice in the back bedroom and not enough lighting in the living room.

We want our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we apologize that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- We work with a professional pest control company that inspects and treats the home regularly, and a follow-up inspection found no evidence of mice.
- As soon as we were made aware of the concern, we acted quickly to have pest control revisit the property.
- The living area has multiple light sources, including recessed can lights, chandeliers, and a large kitchen fixture, which together provide ample lighting.
- The space also benefits from several large windows and a glass door, offering plenty of natural light during the day.
Thanks for letting us know about your stay.
Staying at this place was perfect. Clean, safe, beautiful location, all the amenities one could want, and with a ‘personality’. Could not want anything more.
We stayed in Eagle’s nest for the first time and enjoyed this cabin and the location. Cleanliness could have been better, the floors were dirty upon arrival. Windows seals and blinds were very dusty. Dryer did not work. Overall it was an enjoyable stay.
The cabin was clean except for the coffee maker . Kitchen appliances worked well . No hot water until we flipped the breaker switch .
Great location.

Hi Dominic, we're glad you enjoyed the home. We always appreciate hearing from our guests. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
-We strive to make our house as comfortable and inviting as possible for our guests. It's highly important to us that our guests are given the essentials for their stay to have what they need to be comfortable. We provide a well-stocked home with enough paper goods, including trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, and essentials to accommodate the house for the current occupancy. We know this was important to you and would have been happy to further address any needs had it been brought to our attention
-We have renovated the guest shower last year and completed the master shower this year. The interior aesthetic is something we and other guests appreciate. We understand taste in design is subjective so not everyone will be pleased
We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and we are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!

Close to lake
Cabin had ample room and was a little less clean than the pictures, but still clean enough for its purpose. There’s no AC and it was pretty hot during the day in July. That made for uncomfortable nights as we blast our air conditioning at home, especially at night. Overall, it was a good place to stay for a family, and was conveniently close to the lake.
Great place to stay for any trip to New Mexico. Whether it’s in the winter or spring this house in Eagle Nest N.M. Is a great place to stay. Wide open area giving great views of the lake and mountains. It is centrally located between AngelFire and Red River resorts. We spent 2 days at each town skiing, shopping, tubing, and snowmobiling. Also found time to drive short distance to Taos and saw an Native American dance / pow wow in the town square. A great time had by our two families and at a great house with plenty of view, amenities, easy reservations and great location!

There needing to be some cleaning done some of the lights would not work one heater didnt work. But the managaer came and looked over the things not working could not get the heater to work was going to have the gas company fix it. We left a day early
House was very dirty. Mouse dropings everywhere. Not all lights worked. Mice living in the furniture. Stunk bad. Carpets filthy. Lifted chair, trash and mice have been living in them. Bbq grill inoperable. Full of mouse droppings. Doors broke. House smelled like dust. This is the second time we have rented this property in the past 2 years. Will not ever rent it again. Property manager very difficult to contact. Only texted back next day after we tried to call and sent emails. We spent hours cleaning and do not believe we should be charged the cleaning fee. Didshes were left in the dishwasher

Pretty Basic
The check in process was a bit rough. I sent a text message about early check in. Didn't hear back. I guess an email was sent to me but never seen it. Got to the property about 30 min early. couldn't access property cause the code was set for exactly 4 oclock found out theres a fee for early check in of 50 bucks. Which as a VRBO host I thought was excessive Called the owner he gave me his access code so I could go in at no charge Beds were comfy and warm. The kitchen was stocked however the appliances are very dated and old. Fridge doesn't close all the way easily. Home had a musty old person smell to it along with the smell of propane from the heaters. Bathrooms were updated and had plenty of soaps and shampoos and linens which was great. Theres all kinds of notes about the house about turning things off and things you must do when leaving. It was a bit awkward. There was very little hot water in the master bathroom but the guest bathroom had great hot water. The location is very convenient if you are visiting the lake. Theres plenty of parking if you have a trailer or multiple vehicles. Overall I feel the stay was ok for the cost For an ice fishing trip I would stay again as long as the price doesn't change. Anymore and I feel it would be to pricey for what you get. We left a full day early do to a large snow storm that was forecasted and the owner wished us safe travels.
We found the house very comfortable and relaxing away from any crowds. It was well furnished with comfortable beds. Most of the common cooking needs were available as well as selections of cooking spices etc. Necessary kitchen cleaning items were available.. We enjoyed the use of the large propane grill for a couple of meals. It was an overall comfortable and relaxing visit.
