Pictures are very misleading. “Cottage” is just another house in a neighborhood, 50 feet from a busy road. Sounds of traffic, mowing lawns and construction are constant. The dock is a whole other issue…across the street and 100 feet down the road. Not to mention the steep incline to get to it. Also, the docks are cramped together. Not my idea of a quiet cottage vacation.
We are 6 friends who twice a year get away for 5 days . We quilt, we learn new techniques and spend lots of time enjoying time away. From the minute we booked to the last few hours we spent here we felt it was truly a home away from home. The owners couldn’t be more welcoming setting up our space so we could quilt, cook and just have a fabulous time. Thankyou
This is the 2nd time we've stayed at the cottage and we have enjoyed it both times. There were 4 adults and one dog. Plenty of room for everyone. The beds are comfortable, the cottage is nice and warm and it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We had a fire in the firepit both days. It was a nice surprise to find the wood piled and ready to light when we removed the cover the first day. We will be back next February! Thank you Marcie & Brent
This cottage is a beautiful retreat, nestled in nature. Very peaceful. Lots of deer and wild turkey came to visit us while we stayed. Marcie and Brent are very thoughtful hosts. They left lots of amenities to help us feel welcome and at home. It was also very easy to reach one of them when we had a tiny issue with one of the technical gadgets at the cottage. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again, perhaps in the summer?
Cozy, warm cottage tucked into the forest, with every amenity you could need, and a short walk away from a dock on the beautiful sandy-bottomed beach. We loved our long weekend stay with family.
Cozy and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable and we loved the ability to use the fire pit. Close to Algonquin Park where we enjoyed hiking and snowshoeing.
We had a wonderful week at this beautiful cottage! It was clean, comfortable, spacious ,and well appointed. We loved the outdoor space as well-especially the fire pit -and we even loved the walk to the dock. The dock is a good size that accommodated all 6 of us.
Clean, quiet and peaceful. We had a great time! The lake was gorgeous. The cottage was clean and loaded with all the little things we may have forgotten.
We really enjoyed our four-day stay in your beautiful cabin. It was extremely comfortable and we found everything we could have possibly needed including some special touches such as beach towels (which we forgot at home), and lots of other little details. We loved sitting on the dock and swimming in the lake - so clear and clean. All in all, a great visit to Lake of Bays and Algonquin Park.
We love this place and it gets better every year! It's well equipped, the location is convenient for whatever outdoor thing you want to do, the deer visit daily, it's quiet, and Marcia is a friendly, caring, responsive host. 10/10 definitely recommend!
We really enjoyed our time at the cottage. We liked sitting on the decks, both front and back. These were great places to read a book or just chat. Very peaceful and quiet. We also liked watching the sunsets from the dock and exploring the nearby towns. The cottage itself was well equipped, and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. And we really enjoyed the campfire pit. Overall, I’d have no hesitation recommending it to anyone looking for a bit of time at a nice cottage by a lake.
The accomodations were perfect for a fall get away. The cottage had everything we needed to experience the cool autumn weather. Loved seeing a deer come right into the front yard in the evening.
We'd gladly come back during the summer to enjoy the dock and water. The dock is a small walk down the road from the cottage but one could easily spend the entire day there.
Our pipes burst and we needed a place to stay for us and the dogs and we stayed at their beautiful property. Little touches/gifts made us feel welcome, and open communication was wonderful. We loved the deer and wild turkeys and enjoyed feeding and watching the deer with the food they left. Would def stay again! :)
This is our second time renting this beautiful cabin in the woods and we've resolved to make this an annual event. Great location, great amenities, peaceful and relaxing location. We enjoyed watching the deer and turkeys eating snacks 5ft away thru the front window every day. Lots of thoughtful touches; Marcie even provided us a bottle of wine for Valentines. Easy drive into Huntsville and about equidistant from Arrowhead and Algonquin Park. Truly a lovely quiet place to rest and recharge. We'll be back!
The home was just as advertised. Rooms were great. The sound system was fantastic so if you like music be sure to use it. I loved all the extra conveniences and supplies that were left to us: some shampoo and toiletries, condiments, towels, even little inflatable tubes (and even a pump). Deer would visit us every day which was really cool; lots of birds like Bluejays and such as well. The dock was great - very short walk - and the water was so nice. Very warm and clear. Nice, affordable place to stay in the Muskoka area!
Absolutely beautiful cottage, clean, quiet and well-equipped. It is not waterfront. I rented because it said waterfront and at no time did I read that you had to walk to the dock. Pictures are extremely deceiving !
This property was well maintained. Little details are what made this host and stay amazing. There were many products available if you forgot something at home. Even though my family and I packed well, these little details made us feel welcomed. We didn't want to leave .
The only negative that I do want to mention is the angry neighbours by the deck . Many people were looking at us funny when we went to the deck to swim and made us feel like we were often being watched. Didn't stop us from having fun though.
Thank you for a lovely stay
