A fabulous place to stay - A comfortable and well-appointed one-bedroom apartment in a fantastic location. Close to the yacht clubs and just a short walk/bus ride to shops, Battery Point and the City. It offers convenience, comfort, and easy access to everything you need. Would certainly recommend staying.

James’ place was well positioned for all Hobart area traveling. Nice unexpected touches upon our arrival. We ended up leaving an item in the apartment and James was most helpful in getting it back to us. We really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful location

A perfect start to our holiday in Tasmania. Sandy Bay is a beautiful location: handy to shops, a lovely walk or a short bus ride to Salamanca and the city, easy drive to other attractions. James made us feel very welcome and we found everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The unit is in an older building but is nicely furnished. Lovely to have a little courtyard area and garden at either end of the unit. A pleasant, quiet little unit!

The property is clean, nicely decorated, and well located in the heart of Hobart, with clear access instructions and ample tea and coffee. The bedding itself was comfortable.However, the property is misrepresented as modern and luxurious; it is superficially renovated and clearly dated in its fittings and overall standard.The bath/shower (over a narrow, sloping bath) was a serious safety concern, particularly for older guests—my husband nearly slipped. Our request for a non-slip bath mat was not addressed.There were also several practical issues: An ill-equipped kitchen (no scourer or brush, difficult drawers), a “pantry” that was actually a water heater cupboard, an unlabelled bathroom heater, and very limited space around the bed, making movement and even making the bed difficult. The oversized sheets addedd to this.Finally, at checkout time, the owner entered the property while we were still packing, which felt intrusive.Overall, while there are positives, the property falls short of its advertised standard, particularly in terms of safety and functionality.

Hi there Louise, I’m very sorry we didn’t meet your expectations. To clarify a few things for readers however; -we had two scheduled cleaners and myself waiting outside (being paid weekend hours), the guests however had made no efforts to leave (after courteously informing them multiple times, and offering to assist with their bags) by 30 minutes after the designated checkout time. Guests husband was actually still cooking food. We still do deep Covid compliant cleans between each guest, and it normally takes the entire allotted time, so we had no choice but to begin to provide the next guests the standard we aim to achieve by beginning our clean. The property was also in need of a deep clean after your stay, given the condition the guest left it in. -we offered to personally go and purchase a specialised mat for the guest, but you refused. This was during your checkin, which we specifically hired extra cleaners for to allow for an early checkin (of which you still arrived before the time you told us, and insisted on entering), at no extra charge. We have detailed floor plans and photos of our property, and are always available prior to booking if guests have any questions. The switch for the bathroom heater is directly beneath the heater, we apologise if you had difficulty with this and would have been happy to explain which switch operated which appliance. Again, I’m deeply sorry you weren’t completely satisfied with your stay.

Just what we needed

We moved to Hobart and needed a place close to the city and Uni whilst getting our bearings. This was perfect. Everything is easily accessible, walkable, and the property is in excellent condition. Our host James was always on hand and provided lots of nice touches to make our stay very comfortable. Thank you very much and we recommend it to others!
