High Tide | Bright Coastal Home w/ Fireplace, 2 Screened Porches, Decks & Snippet Channel Views

We're pleased to be able to offer 'High Tide' as one of our most popular vacation rental selections! The true epitome of a beach house, you'll enjoy the bright, cheery decor and spacious feel of this fabulous home. The downstairs features an open living room (with fireplace and flat-screen TV), dining area and kitchen, as well as over-sized windows and access to the two (yes, TWO!) screened porches. One porch features a wonderful dining set; perfect for dining al fresco. The second spacious porch features a large hammock and nice sectional lounging sofa. As if that's not enough outdoor space, there are also multi-level, open air decks on the front and back of the home! There's also a bedroom (king) and full bathroom downstairs. The upstairs features two additional bedrooms (one with a queen & two twin beds, and the other with a queen & one twin bed), and a full bathroom. Both upstairs bedrooms are enhanced by sliding doors and private balconies. You'll enjoy snipet water views of the Assateague Channel! Don't delay, 'High Tide' books quickly. Please note: As part of the Piney Island Community, this rental includes water access at a shared community location just a short distance from the home.

Perfect vacation stay

AWe loved high tide. Ground floor bedroom lovely. Great to have kids in two upstairs bedrooms. Kitchen very nice. Having lots of screened in decks gave us room to spread out. We loved using the kayaks and beach chairs supplied. AC was great. Fans were nice. Scenery was beautiful. And Chincoteague was amazing. Just be prepared for excessive mosquitoes in June.

A little worn, but still a nice place to stay

We had a nice Memorial Day weekend at High Tide. The 9 of us enjoyed the stay despite the big issue of the upstairs a/c unit not working. Fortunately, we had cool weather with a nice breeze. Pros: Nice kitchen with several useful appliances, pots, pans, cooking and eating utensils; comfortable couches; great screened porches, 1 with a nice table, 1 with additional seating & a hammock; great location - walking or biking distance to eateries and shops; lots of communication from the property manager prior to the trip and easy to contact with issues (responded quickly to the upstairs a/c unit not working though the technician couldn't fix it during our stay). Cons: with the exception of the 1st floor bedroom, all mattresses have seen better days; some windows were hard to open/close; 1 of the screened porch doors was tough to open; a little TLC for the overall house is needed.

The kitchen had everything we needed, the air conditioning kept us comfortable. The view of the water and night sky from the upstairs balcony was wonderful. We spent many hours in the screened porch.

Summer 2022 Stay

We very much enjoyed our stay at High Tide this summer! The house is in a great quiet location - we loved seeing deer in the backyard almost every evening. The screened in porches were favorite places to enjoy meals and just relax. The kitchen is small but adequate - there was an issue with a crack in the glass stovetop, but the rental company quickly sent over a replacement electric burner until a new stovetop was ordered. Great location with a short drive to beach and shopping. Highly recommend bug spray on the island!!! Overall, it was a great experience.

Small issues were dirty floor on arrival, low ceiling in 2nd floor bathroom that was hard for tall teenage boys, but the main issue was the house always felt damp so it wasn’t comfortable feeling inside. Management company was very responsive with tv questions.

The location is so convenient to Assateague National Seashore, restaurants and shops. We have already booked our 2023 vacation. However, when we arrived Sunday evening, the house was very dirty. Before we could bring in our belongings and unpack, we spent much time cleaning. The kitchen was the worse. Grease splatters on the the stovetop tea kettle that you could write your name on. Food debris in the silverware drawer. Dirty dishes had been put away. Kitchen cabinets were disorganized. Ants eating on the graham cracker and Goldfish crackers left on the floor. Kitchen floor was so sticky my tennis shoes were sticking when I walked. Ants were also in the downstairs bathroom, feasting on food debris left on the floor. These issues are clearly with the cleaning company that Management uses, not with the house. A solution would be for a final check made of the property before the next renters move in. I could not wait until Monday morning to have the house cleaned. Not a great way to start our vacation. Extremely disappointing, particularly since we have stayed at this property twice before.

July 2022 Stay

With our family visiting from Ireland we stayed very comfortably at High Tide. It is a bright, cheery clean house in a good location close to town, beach and water park. It was very clean and comfortable though the cushions on the outside seating should be changed. Other than that is was great and we took full advantage of being out on the large screened in porches throughout our stay. We love Chincoteague and have stayed in a different place all 6 yrs we have come but would consider staying here again. We also love Pico Taqueria and Steves II food truck at the end of Oak road right by the house is definitely worth a try. All communications were handled smoothly and checking in and out was so simple. Thank you!
