Incredible is the best way to describe this property. We’ve stayed in many beautiful places but this one tops the charts! From the breathtaking views (beautiful sunsets and water views from every spot in the house), outside space (think morning coffee to the sound of waves and evening cocktails on the large deck) inside space (comfy recliners and well equipped kitchen) and wildlife (so many birds and fireflies!), we are already planning our return. The listing is accurately described and the host was very responsive. It’s also at the end of a quiet road so if you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is it!Book it! You will not be disappointed!
We had wonderful views of sunrises off the front deck, sunsets off the back deck and side views of birds entering Hillman Marsh. The large windows were very clean so we could stay warm while enjoying the view. We were initially worried about all the windows cooling the cottage during cold, blustery May weather but temperatures were kept nice and toasty by the quiet furnace and well insulated windows and cottage. Frank was quick to respond to any questions and queries. In general the cottage is as described. There are several small steps on the walkway to the front door (shown in the pictures) and a step between the kitchen and the dining/bedroom areas to be aware of for those with mobility issues. During our stay, we were able to easily commute to Hillman Marsh and Point Pelee National Park, retuning for lunch most days. We really enjoyed our time there.
Easy to find, lovely cottage. Host permitted our cat and that was greatly appreciated. Gorgeous water views. on 3 sides. Locals come here to fish off the rocks, so bring your gear. Kitchen is basic and functional. Could use some sharper kitchen knives and more table knives as well. Dining table looks out on the water. Windows in common areas are ceiling to floor and those looking out on the water have no blinds. A/C worked well but didn't need it much because the cross draft with windows open was perfect. Lots of places to sit both inside and out. The two bedrooms are tiny, with no night tables and no place to put your suitcases. We did not receive our door code for check-in the day before, so I texted the host who was responsive. There are motion sensor lights with cameras around the eaves. On the first night, one by the entry door, that shone directly into the bedroom, triggered every few minutes. Tried to adjust it but it wouldn't move, so we covered it with a shopping bag for the 3 next nights. All good! 17 minutes to Leamington. 50 mnutes to Amherstburg. If you love good pastries, visit the Golden Oven European Bakery in Amherstburg ... amazing! Highly recommend this cottage. We hope to be back!
The views are incredible. Was hard to leave the sitting area, listening to the waves. Is close to point pelee and Kingsville was a great place to spend some time. Point Pelee park pass provided is a nice touch.

The location was perfect for our group of birders. We enjoyed the water and sunset views.
We had a fantastic stay. Truly a unique property with water on 3 sides- the sounds of waves feeling more like ocean surf! Sunrise and sunsets were amazing! And the birds were incredible even in the off season. Easy drive to Point Pelee Natuonal Park with the park pass an added bonus.
We loved the cottage we stayed in , very clean and inviting and warm. The sounds of the water around you and many birds nearby. Sunrise and sunset were amazing. Very close to Point Pelee Park.Would highly recommend cottage to anyone and hope to return one day. Thank you Frank for the opportunity to stay at your cottage. We loved it!
This is a nice bright space. The views were amazing. We found the seating in all areas to be good. The 2 bedrooms are small but the beds were comfy. Great outside spaces. All in all, it was a better experience than we expected.
Enjoyed the sound of the waves. Waterviews were wonderful. Lots of birds in the area. Was nit far from Point Pelee which in itself was a wonderful nature experience.
Nice quiet place to stay, very comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen. But shelves, hangers and/or drawers missing in bedrooms, we had to leave our clothes in luggages, not very practical.
Property is truly a " Birder's Paradise". The cottage was as described and had everything we needed for our Thanksgiving week-end getaway. My husband especially loved the showerhead in the bathroom. The views were spectacular from sunrise to sunset. We took our dog with us and he loved sitting on the deck and watching all the birds. We spent a day at Point Pelee using the complimentary pass provided by the host.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage in a beautiful location. It had all the amenities we needed, and the two double rooms were perfect for the two of us.
The cottage was lovely and spacious. A very good experience. Facilities were great. Supplies such as dish soap etc could be monitored a shade more carefully.
Pointe Pelee is 10 km away, and a pass is included. The property is at the end of the road, next to the lake and the marsh. Lots of windows and deck space. Comfortable seating. Views of both sunrise and sunset.
You can watch both the sunrise and sunset from this beautiful property! There is water all around and so many amazing birds. Loved it!
