I was attending a conference with my daughter and was appalled by the high prices of the hotel which hosted the conference. It was difficult to find a rental of a home given the high season in Naples--but I found this gem. And, I wanted to deal with an actual OWNER not a real estate agent. Mae was terrific, she was very accessible. I loved the location (about a mile from Vanderbilt Beach) and the home had everything one could need. I'd recommend this home whole heartedly.

Thanks Beth, loved having you and daughter, fellow New Englanders, and you're always welcome back anytime.
We were extremely pleased with our stay at this property. The house was just as described, clean, well stocked and furnished. With the lanai, patio, and private fenced yard the outdoor living area was great. Plenty of beach stuff in the garage. It's a15 minute walk to Vanderbilt Beach and a short drive (1.5 miles) to Delbert-Wiggins State Park (our preference) but get there early for parking. Quiet neighborhood but close to stores/restaurants/bars/etc. Communication with Mae could not have been better. It was just two of us but the house can easily accommodate more. Happy to recommend this to others and if we return to Naples we'll make every effort to rent this property again.
The house is very clean, has a modern kitchen. Master bedroom bed very comfortable. Showers have good pressure and plenty of hot water. Location is the key to this home with its proximity to the beach and many great restaurants.

Very enjoyable month
This home is in a nice quiet neighborhood that is close to the beach, tennis courts, a fitness facility, and lots of great stores and restaurants. We rode bikes almost every day and saw sunset at the beach a few times a week. The listing photos are accurate and the home was clean and well-maintained. The owner was very helpful in every way. The beds were comfortable, although the second bed looked smaller than a queen to me (also that room could use a more effective window treatment). The master has a nice large walk-in closet. The home is partially renovated, with the kitchen and bathroom cabinets/countertops still to go. The cabinets, pantry, closets and garage could use some cleaning and organization, but we were able to move things around and make room for our stuff. We didn't use the gas grill or water gear, but we did use the washer/dryer. I'd recommend this property, if it sounds like it will fit your needs. It's not upscale, but is roomy and has many useful amenities.

We loved having tha Arnolds of NC for the month of February, one of the coldest and snowiest months up north ever! We would welcome the Arnolds back any time, and are so glad they enjoyed all the nearby amenities and used the bikes at the house to explore. The guest room bed is a queen - purchased new at the end of 2011 - Sealy posturpedic queen! We thought the wood venetian blind and white sheer curtain combo offered the best versatility for tropical breezes, but maybe in the future we'll consider some tropical color! We have our home professionally cleaned top to bottom after each rental, and pride ourselves on tidy, organized garage, pantry, cabinets and counter. We did notice(and didn't mind one bit) that the Arnolds rearranged things to their liking, and stowed away some items they didn't plan to use (toaster oven, juicer, drink mixer). We aim to please! Thanks to the Arnolds for their stay and for taking the time to provide a review.

Beating the winter blues
We arrived after a long trip from Indiana ready for a week in warmer weather. We were not disappointed. No, it was not a condo on the beach, but in many ways it was better for a longer stay. Normally this bungalow. Rents for a month at a time. This is what makes this vacation house a better deal. It has more room for the money and a yard to boot. The owners have everything you need to go to the beach. Speaking of the beach, it is only minutes away by car. We chose to go to the state park, away from the condo crowd. It was very nice.. The sunsets are beautiful from anywhere on the beach. Our only disappointment was that the televisions in the bedrooms, only one had a small 13" . But that didn't stop us from enjoying our stay.
The bungalow looks just like the pictures. It is not posh., but it is comfortable and has lots of room.

Cindy and Dick were our guests in the month of February - a nice getaway for them from Indiana in the winter. I spoke with them after their week to see how things had gone and if they had any suggestions for me, as this is the first year we're renting our place, and are interested in making sure guests are satisfied enough to return. Cindy suggested a newer TV in the bedroom, and that is not something that I had thought of, and so I appreciate that feedback and plan to update the master bedroom TV when I'm in Naples. I'm sure they did enjoy the new 48 inch Samsung HDTV with blue-ray and cable in the comfy living room. Thanks for the great review Cindy and Dick, and also the bedroom TV upgrade suggestion! Will do!

Winter break
We needed a winter break form all the holiday dealings, and this was the perfect getaway. The house is charming and well appointed with all the essential amenities, including a super coffee maker, well stocked kitchen, and a comfortable feeling all around. The house was located near a fantastic state park, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It's close enough to bike to, but offered more privacy than the very public Vanderbilt Beach. But when we wanted a luxurious lunch, there was the Turtle Club on VB, easy walk/ride from the house. In other words, this location and the house had it all! The owners clearly love this house and making the stay more special.

Awesome Location/ Adorable Property
Located within walking distance to Vanderbilt Beach, this property is spotless, well appointed and cozy. The floor plan is spacious enough to offer a tv room, a reading room and an outside lanai (we ate most meals in lanai). Beautiful, new grill. We plan to return often. Consider lunch or dinner @ Turtle Club on Vandy Beach-walking distance. Shop @ Fresh Market on 41.

We loved having Dee and Paul who are very familiar with the Naples area and explored more restaurants than we knew existed. So glad you enjoyed your time at our place and especially the beach. Thanks for staying with us. Looking forward to your return! Mae
About the host
Hosted by Mae Timmons
I became acquainted with Southwest Florida when my aunts, uncle, grandmother and father all began vacationing in the Fort Myers area. Remembering the warmth, the light and the beach, I dreamed of one day owning something in the south to get away to during freezing New England winters. In 2010, when my father passed away, he left me a small nest egg and I knew the time was right for my partner and I to put it into a small home in Naples. Because I am still teaching and working full time on Cape Cod, and my partner is working full time building beautiful sailboats, our ability to get away right now is limited, and we can share this wonderful place with others as a rental. This home is a tribute to my Dad who taught me the value of owning real estate, and the inestimable value of relaxing.
Why they chose this property
I knew that I wanted to own a home in a modest neighborhood, and be able to stroll to the beach and walk or bike ride to the Turtle Club or Baleen restaurant on Vanderbilt Beach, or beach walk to Delnor Wiggins State Park, just a little further away. To find such a well cared for place in the 500 block on one of the best streets in Naples Park (98th St), well - the writing was on the wall!
What makes this property unique
The neighborhood is quiet, residential, safe, beautiful, and the neighbors are mostly year round and lovely. Although this location is serene, you are five minutes away from everything you need - shops, restaurants, beach, services, cinema, bike shop, the famous Mercato up the street with restaurants, bars, Whole Foods, entertainment, night life, cinema, you name it.
