Stay was incredible. Beautiful views from the dock, house had everything we needed (even had boats/canoes), host was great, very private and comfortable. Would definitely recommend!

Disappointing
Unfortunately this property is not ready to accept travellers. The kitchen was not functional for cooking, and lacked the basics needed for food preparation. The bedding and towels were a major disappointment as sheets and bed covers were very old and used and didn’t seem clean. Although the property is is in lovely area , it needs much more attention before accepting clients. We paid slightly under $1000 for 2 nights and did not feel we received value for it.

Hi Ernest thank you for your review. Very sorry to hear that you felt disappointed with your stay.
I can guarantee that all beddings and towels have been washed and are thoroughly cleaned before every visit. The kitchen is stocked with all the basic tools for cooking but we are indeed experiencing some temporary issues with the cooktop as it broke down recently. Appliance specialists could not fix it after multiple appointments so a new one had to be ordered, but it is just taking a bit of time to arrive. This was the case for our last group of renters as well, unfortunately, and we're sorry that the messages we left for you regarding this inconvenience prior to your stay got lost in the system. I understand that it must have been frustrating to have to use the temporary portable electric cooktop instead but please know that this issue will be fixed as soon as my order arrives.

Beautiful Views, lovely host
We had a wonderful weekend at Sabrina's property. Lots of windows so you constantly see the view of the lake. We were lucky to see Canadian Geese just flying home from winter and playing on the ice, so that was fun. There is a nice large kitchen table which we made great use of for playing family board games. The main bedroom had a king bed which was also a nice treat for us. It is located in a nice quiet neighbourhood and close to Wilcox Park where we went for a nice walk around the boardwalk.
We did have a snag when checking in as the lock was actually broken, no fault to the owner (it had literally worked for her the day before) but did cause a delay getting in - will have to be fixed for future renters. She was great to get a local friend to come and help us get in and she herself came to see the issue for herself.
Suggestions for renters: If you want to sleep in, bring a sleep mask as there are big windows in every room. We had brought a laptop and HDMI cable to access our Disney+ account through her television. Slippers are also recommended.
Sabrina must own pets as we found there was a lot of animal hair everywhere, that would be our biggest suggestion to her is to give it a deep clean for pet fuzz. We don't have pets so for us it was highly noticeable, I am sure other families may not notice.
Overall we had a wonderful time and all our needs were met. The design of the house is very interesting and made for a unique experience. We had the quality family experience we were looking for to start our spring break. Thank you Sabrina.

Thank you Laura and your family for being such lovely guests and staying with us! Luckily the door and TV issues have been fixed and I've organized the cleaning service to target the animal hair :) Thank you for the feedback and hopefully will see you again in the future!
We spent 6 days in late August 2022 and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Yes, the place is a bit older and could use some weeding and trimming but having that little slice of lake access makes all the difference in the world. Having lake views out of all the windows, a small 2nd floor deck to have coffee in the morning, the greenhouse to warm up and sit when it rained...was all so purely serene and lovely. We were all so thankful for being there together. The only things we needed, that weren't there
were a few more blankets and a larger coffee pots (since we had 5 adults).
We were able to take trips to Toronto for the FanExpo, to the Kensington area, Queen's St West, and Wilcox park (just around the corner) and had a great time trying all of the fabulous foods from around the world. Thank you for the wonderful stay. We hope to stay again sometime 😍
The house was in a very convenient location and the neighborhood safe and upscale. The owner was nice and flexible with check-in times. The house entrance was dirty - lots of old spider webs. The grounds were overgrown and desperately need landscaping. The house was large - bedrooms and bathrooms on entrance level, common areas upstairs. The living room couches were lumpy and extremely uncomfortable - they need replacing. The kitchen microwave was missing the glass turnstile plate and rendered useless. The pots and pans were also old and grungy. The windows looking out to the lake could use a good cleaning and the overgrown vines covered up what would be a beautiful view. Down by the lake, the water was very shallow and mucky - accessible for canoeing but not great for swimming near the shore. This house could be a great rental property with a lot of TLC, updates and landscaping. If upgraded, we would consider going back as it was convenient to major highways for family visits. But not in its current condition.
