This fantastic 8 bedroom home provides the convenience of slope side skiing on Timberline Mountains Winterset Trail. Love it!! Year-round Lost River Lodge offers comfortable accommodations. Perfect for a family or friend reunion, enjoy well thought out amenities that include multiple TV’s, WIFI, a fully equipped kitchen, wood burning fireplace and more! Professional or amateur astronomers will love spending part of the evening in the outdoor hot tub. It’s a short drive to Blackwater Falls, Thomas, and Davis. For sure this one is a win/win!

3rd level air conditioning didn't seem to cool the rooms effectively. Couch in main sitting room was not comfortable and hard to get out of for us 70 year old! House was very well stocked and we had a wonderful time. Very convenient to Blackwater Falls and we enjoyed riding the ski lift up to top of mountain for beautiful views.

The house was great - spacious and well kept. The size of the dining table and couch were perfect for a large group, and the air hockey was a hit. The management company was very responsive for little questions during the stay, and came by extremely quickly when we mentioned an issue with starting the dishwasher. My only word of caution to future renters is that the backyard is quite small and steep because of the ski trail behind, so if you're visiting in the summer I wouldn't count on using it for lawn games.

Overall great house for our large group! Plenty of room for everyone with the extra large dining room table and couch made for a great time for everyone. Two refrigerators made for plenty of food and drink storage. Bedrooms were spacious. The bonus area in the basement with air hockey was a nice surprise. To top it all off, the deck with a hot tub was an amazing place to wind down after a busy day of hiking. Location is incredible with easy access to plenty of natural areas and the towns of Davis and Thomas are both within 15-20 minutes. If you need a nice house for a big group, this is a fantastic option!

We had a wonderful stay! The host was excellent and very prompt with answers to any questions we had. The house was exactly as posted and very clean. We highly recommend staying there and we look forward to coming back!

Amazing stay

We had an amazing stay. The kitchen was well equipped. Hot tub was wonderful. The house was so sound proof that I couldn’t hear the neighbors huge party. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect place for our family

We had 17 guests and everyone was comfortable! We loved the large community space where we could all hang out at night. Hot tub was great, location was awesome as some of us hiked to the top of the mountain every morning! Staff was very responsive for garbage pick up and hot tub shocking regularly.

Nice location

Spacious. We enjoyed hot tub and air hockey. House is dated and needs work -leaks paint and not many paper products provided. (Example napkins, trash bags and hand soaps) but clean and beautiful location.

My only complaint is there is no air conditioning on the upper level which made for uncomfortable sleeping for the ones that slept there. With taste being said if I stay here again it will only be in the cooler months.

We made a lot of wonderful memories and would definitely rent it again big

Best Summer Weekend!

This property was clean, spacious, and well taken care of. There was toilet paper, linens, and cleaning supplies available. The location was easy to get to. You are close to the neighbors, and there isn't much of a yard. There is an amazing porch/deck and an awesome giant couch and dining room table. The listing says 18 people, but we decided that at least 24 people could comfortably stay there if needed.

We've always enjoyed enjoyed our stay, and this year was no exception. We've booked again for summer '25, and look forward to it already. The house comfortably fits our 8 couples. The house is beginning to show a little bit of minor wear though, but nothing serious.

Critique of 4-day stay at Lost River Lodge

Rating Details: The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We take 4 days every spring to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Canaan Valley. Our group, of approximately 16 adults has been doing this for almost 40 years. We love the place. We started by staying during only winter months, but, due to age have pretty much switched to summer. The hiking and comeraderie are the most popular activities, and we still ski a little bit. Lost River Lodge provides a well-equipped, pleasant experience, that is centrally located.
