We stayed at this home for a weekend family getaway. We had a wonderful time and it was fun to see my grandchildren playing with each other. One of them didn't want to leave but wanted to live in "Nana's" house! Several of our group went skiing and the others went tubing. The location is perfect because you just put your skis on and out the door you go! We had a few small issues but the owner was extremely quick to respond. One thing a renter should be aware of is you will need a 4 wheel drive in the winter. The road to the house is steep and can be quite slippery. Overall, everyone had fun and I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a fun winter vacation.

Celebrating My Parents' 60th Anniversary

Our family had a great time staying here. The views are amazing. We spent many early mornings on the back deck watching the wildlife and the sun burn off the low-lying fog. The house was big enough for us. There were a few things that we discussed with the property owner/manager (I forget her title) who was very attentive to our suggestions. We were very grateful to stay in such a large home in a beautiful location.

We also apologize for the frustration with the grill. We wish we had known about the issue during your stay, as we would have been more than happy to send someone out to assist right away. We’re not entirely sure whether you were referring to the outdoor gas grill or the indoor teppanyaki grill, but either way, we would have wanted the opportunity to troubleshoot and correct the issue for you while you were at the property. Regarding the steak knives, we do maintain a hospitality closet with additional kitchen and household items, including extra steak knives, and we would have been happy to provide those during your stay had we known they were needed. Family time!

We absolutely enjoyed this cabin in the beautiful mountains! Our ages ranged from 4-59 years old. Everyone had something to do at all times! Enough space for 12 people! The view is absolutely stunning! Deer outside several times a day! We definitely will be recommending this cabin to others and would even book again ourselves!

Wonderful Family Stay

The home is beautiful and as described. Our large group had a wonderful stay enjoying the theaters, hot tub, sauna, and views. Our kids loved performing in the shadow theater.A few minor items to note. The shuffleboard was too worn and lacking sand to be used. The WiFi speed, as mentioned in the home guide, does struggle at times. We had to make everyone disconnect their devices so we could get a movie to stream. The electronics are well labeled however some of our party were unable to figure them out without help from the family IT guy.Overall an amazing house to make family memories in!

Fun with everyone

The stay was mostly great. We were unhappy with the size of the outside grill, for a place that hosts 10+ people, the grill was not large enough. The inside grill was large, but needed a lot of TLC. We also wished there was a bit more kitchen storage, but as we were there for 9 nights, this would not likely be an issue for shorter stays. Otherwise we loved the accommodations, all the kids were entertained for the whole time, and the beds were very comfortable.

Awesome house and location!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! There were 8 adults and 7 children in our group and space galore! The house was as advertised and plenty to keep the kids entertained. The location was absolutely perfect for the skiers in our group. There is a small hill next to the house leading to the garage where the younger children were able to sled. Snow tubing was a short drive away and highly recommended by all! The hot tub was a huge perk and the robes provided were perfect for entering and exiting. The only recommendation I have would be to provide kitchen towels. We went through a lot of paper towels just to dry hands after clean up in the kitchen. We had the perfect family trip!

Beautiful summer getaway

This place provided a beautiful setting for a large group of us to enjoy time together and explore. The highlight of the house is the breathtaking view from the upper floor balcony. Bedroom suites are nice and spacious. Kitchen and amenities are ample as advertised. Overall a good time. Some smaller issues: poor internet (understandable for location) renders some of the extravagant technological frills unusable. I regret having adults use the advertised bedding in the theater room (air mattresses). Maybe ok for kids. The road leading up to the house is a very rough mile stretch (early summer.)

This location has 400 mbp, the highest available in the area, and it’s more than adequate to keep the whole house connected to wifi. We wish you would no have contacted us during your stay, so we would have had an opportunity to troubleshoot the wifi. If you had, we would have been happy to get your group back up and running on all your devices. Thank you for your feedback regarding the air mattresses. Typically, our adult guests find our Master Suites & King Size Pillowtop Mattresses very comfortable, and choose to set up the air mattresses up for our younger guests. While we provide the best air mattresses available, we understand how an adult may find them uncomfortable. For future stays, our Lakeview Lux home is located about 45 minutes away from this location, & features an extra bedroom with a King Sized Bed. Aurora Point Summer Visit

Aurora Point offers an incredible view. The beds are comfortable and It was nice to have three master bedrooms. Communication prior to the visit was more cumbersome than other rentals have been. The cleaning staff was wonderful and while it was clean , the property was a bit worn for the money spent. Unfortunately there was no zip lining and sport clay shooting available which we were hoping to do. But we could still hike (Dolly Sods is a hike up the mountain and just beyond the Timberline slope, which was better than taking the 45 minute drive) ride bikes and golf. We also took the chair lift to the top at Canaan for a lovely view. Would highly recommend a day trip into the quaint town of Thomas (better on the weekend as more shops are open) especially seth’s artist gallery, Creature. Davis has a really good place to get ice cream.

Unfortunately sometimes it is hard to communicate via email and we cannot contact guests directly until after booking due to policies enforced by the site. We are so glad that you had a comfortable stay and enjoyed the view and the area. We make efforts each quarter with quality inspections to keep the house updated and in top shape to provide a luxury mountain experience, often replacing furniture and maintaining all amenities in the house immediately upon any issues. Great ski on, ski off location but lacking some of the advertised features

The property is beautiful but the kitchen lacks the basics to prepare a meal for 16 (TINY colinder, no casserole dishes, crockpot or roasting pans). The hibachi grill is gorgeous but I received multiple documents warning us of the fines that we would incur if it was not cleaned property, so many in fact that we were very nervous to use it. The ice makers in both refrigerators were also not working. We were not provided the bathrobes in the master bedrooms that were advertised. The bedrooms and bathrooms were large and beautiful and the views of the mountain from the house were gorgeous. The rental company was very accommodating and responded to phone calls or emails promptly.

Carolgene, thank you for your complimentary review about our beautiful home, the scenic views of the surrounding area the design of the house provides, and most importantly, the comments about our customer service which is paramount. Our homes are designed with our guests in mind and with the goal of providing an unforgettable group vacation. We do quality control checks before each stay to ensure all amenities are working; however, occasionally an item can break without warning during a stay. That is why we provide all guests with information about the multiple ways we can be reached before and during their stay. After making a reservation, we include this information in a guest’s account portal, and it is again provided in a pre-check-in email sent to the guest. When we are notified of such a situation, we do our best to immediately address the issue. In your case, we wish your group had notified us that the ice maker stopped working. We would gladly have delivered multiple bags of ice for your use while waiting for the ice maker to be repaired . Also, we are sorry that the equipment your group felt they needed to cook a particular recipe was not out. We wish your needs had been communicated to us. We keep some extras of these items on site. We so not leave them out because we do not want to over-clutter the kitchen for our guests. Our literature does indicate that we provide what “most” groups need for cooking, but any specialty items, such as electric crock pots and turkey carvers, etc., should be brought by the guest to be sure they have they have what they need for preparing any special meal. We try to keep an array of high-end scratch resistant cooking pans, pots, and cooking dishes to accommodate cooking for most groups. The Teppanyaki griddle is a one of the many amenities at the house that our guests love. We do ask that guests read the instructions on how to use and clean this grill properly. We also provide access to a video and ask that it be watched so our guests feel comfortable using it. As the grill does get extremely hot, we do give a cautionary warning to be especially careful that children do not get close to the grill or the surrounding granite to prevent an accidental burn. I am sorry if the instructions and caution caused you hesitation to use it. We do appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback. We always are open to learning from our guests and improving. We are so glad your group had a fantastic stay.

Not as advertised

Management has been good about keeping in contact with us and have said that the space will be looked at. That being said, this space could be nice with some TLC. It has been worn over the years and is pretty dinged up. It should be noted that the pool is not on the property, it is 15 mins away at a resort, you have to pay to get in and then ask for reimbursement. Other amenities like tennis court and gym are also at the resort down the road. You definitely need 4-wheel drive even in the summer. The manual and directions to the house need to be updated. Grill was small for the space. There was not enough seating for our family of 7. Kids had to sit on the floor. Furniture shown in picture is not what's on site.

As advertised

Great house at an amazing location. A few things to note if you are thinking of renting. -If you are coming to ski or snowboard this is an ideal location just below the mid mountain lift. This is good because it is on a very forgiving blue slope that is great for beginner snowboarders, and at the intersection of an easy green slope for beginner skiers. Also, the house is on a lighted part of the resort for those who like to night ski.-the house has been updated with a PS5 and Xbox series X but I don't believe there are any games. You would need to bring your own or login to your own account. -There are a lot of instructions but they are clear and do a great job of explaining everything. I will say that if the instructions say that things are not provided then don't expect them to be there. For example, there are no linens blankets or pillows for the air beds. I thought there might be some extra blankets but there were not. Again, this was clear in the instructions, so not a big deal. -I was a little worried because the photos in the advertisement are a little dated but the house is in great condition and felt modern. The only thing that was a little dated was the hot tub but it still worked fine. - the property owner is very responsive, gracious, and a great host.

Sliger Family Reunion

I want to start off by stressing, we really enjoyed our stay, and would stay here again. But I also want to provide some constructive help for the owners. The house wasn't the cleanest house I've stayed in there at Timberline. The vents for the HVAC were pretty dusty. I took a picture of the one by the dining room table. The big fireplace did not work. The smaller one to the left worked fine, but the larger one did not function. The WiFi was in and out all weekend. I'm guessing this had to to do with the number of devices connected with 20 people staying at the house - most of whom had a phone or ipad connected at one point in time or another. A couple bedrooms were missing towels. Not a big deal, as there were enough to go around once we sorted them out. The list of to-do's seemed a bit exhaustive. We happen to own a hot-tub, so we know how to do the chemicals in one. However, most people do not, and to ask a renter to read some instructions on how to do so and re-balance the PH themselves is a bit over the top. With everything else that is asked, what are you paying the cleaning service to do, other than wash/dry the sheets/towels and make the beds? The general feeling was, why are we paying a cleaning fee if we're having to do almost everything anyway. I completely understand the need to clean up after ourselves, so again, this is not a deterrent from us renting this house again. We train our cleaning staff to deliver the cleanest product possible and wish you had alerted us to any issues with a dusty vent but were not informed by your group and we are unable to locate which vent was dusty but we clean the vents before and after each stay. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the wifi. We understand that the world needs to stay connected these days! That is why we provide the possible fastest wifi service available in the Valley. This may not be as fast as certain broadband services available in major cities, but we are the ONLY property in the valley to have the fastest service and fastest wifi available - we pay extra for these lines. If 20 people are connected my guess is that it would have some toll on the wifi. We also understand your concerns regarding the hot tub. We change the hot tub water after every single stay and treat the hot tub water. We want our customers to be in clean sparkling and safe water the entire time! For normal 2 and 3 night stays this isn't an issue that even requires attention, but for 7 week stays in the summer, we do advise our guests to treat and test the water to avoid any issues. Regarding the cleaning steps, we do ask that the trash is removed, dishes done, and the floors swept, the cleaners then ensure that the home is spotless, sheets and towels are washed and laundered etc.. The reason we have the cleaning fee is to make sure that the house is SPOTLESS for the next guests. The cleaning fee does not include for instance cleaning up after a large party with lots of crumbs and trash left throughout the house.
