It is a large unit with a patio and water views. It was clean when we arrived. It's over a mile to the ocean, but we were able to park there pretty easily. Our only complaint was that it wasn't very well stocked. There was no back up toilet paper, so we needed to buy some. There were extra pillows, but not extra pillow cases. There was a coffee maker, but no filters. (I used paper towels.) There's a washer/dryer, but not even 1 Tide pod.

Thank you for the feedback. We do provide a starter set of paper and cleaning products - a roll of toilet paper & small bar of soap for each bathroom. In the kitchen you should have found a roll of paper towels, sponge, dish soap, detergent for a load or two in the dishwasher and kitchen towels. We do not provide anything for laundry. We hope to see you again!
Booked a partial week family vacation from 8/5-8/8. Arrived to a dirty unit, broken vacuum, broom but no dustpan and no cleaning supplies to address issues on our own. Requested a refund for the “housekeeping” portion of our stay and that was declined and instead a one hour late check out was offered. Somehow this lack of cleanliness is acceptable to management. Photos show some but not all concerns. Unit has filthy floors, ants and palmetto bugs, questionable stains on the bedding and sofa, used bandaids and earplugs on the floor, chains and weights left hanging from the curtains, safety concerns with the exposed outlets and multiple surge protectors and extension cords plugged into one another.
Nick in housekeeping informed me that a cleaned out refrigerator and made up beds upon arrival were sufficient and indicated a clean unit. We checked in at 4pm on a Friday and informed management of concerns Sunday morning. We were told housekeeping would return our call at some point throughout the day. After speaking to housekeeping at nearly 4 in the afternoon they informed us that we had waited towards the end of our stay to make a complaint and it was too late. We will never use Village Realty OBX again and we will share our experience with friends and family. This could have been resolved with a sympathetic management staff.
