Leilani Cottage - Meredith Lodging

Custom built 2019 riverfront cabin crafted by 3rd generation family members to continue the memories made here for decades. You will create life-long memories, too, whether relaxing by the river or in the hot tub or reclining in the great room with a good book and a glass of wine. The gourmet kitchen includes a gas cooktop, top-of-the-line cookware and all of the extras you need to prepare a fabulous meal. Grill out on the gas BBQ on the riverside deck year-round.

Your dogs are welcome to join you here and they will love playing on the sandy beach by the river or taking walks on the gated, dead-end road. You will be close to dozens of miles of hiking and biking trails just minutes from the front door. Or just take a quiet, leisurely walk down the road. There are other cabins on the lane, but with the trees, you will feel a sense of seclusion while at Leilani Cottage.

Leilani Cottage is best suited for a romantic retreat to Mt Hood with the primary suite including the king bed topped with a 2-inch thick faux-feather bed and the en-suite bathroom with tiled walk-in shower and rain shower head.

Beautiful home in the forest along side a calm peaceful river.

What a wonderful property. I loved all of the windows, it was as if nature wrapped its arms around you. The peaceful sound of the river took my mind off the hustle and bustle of the city life, and the hot tub was the icing on the cake.

My daughter and her fiancé stayed here for 2 nights... a Christmas present from me. They said it was wonderful. They commented on how nice the bed was, and how much they enjoyed the hot tub. They also enjoyed hiking along the river. After their experience, I would like to stay there with my husband.

We were terribly disappointed that the very close neighbors (next door) were sawing trees and running wood through a chipper all day long. Both days. The house is lovely but it was hard to enjoy it.

Disappointing stay: Broken amenities, poor cleanliness, and invasion of privacy.

When we arrived, the hot tub panel was off and had an error code. We immediately contacted Meredith Lodging, who said they would contact someone to fix it. Despite multiple follow-ups over several days, no one ever showed up. This was especially frustrating because the hot tub was the main reason we chose this property over others in the area.On the first night, we found our sheets covered in both dog and human hair. It was clear they were either not washed or poorly cleaned, despite using commercial laundering. There were no extra sheets in the cabin, so we had to vacuum the bed and reluctantly sleep on them the first night. It felt really gross to sleep in them. The next morning, we washed the sheets ourselves and informed Meredith Lodging. They offered to send fresh sheets, but since we had already cleaned them, we declined.When we left to get groceries, Meredith Lodging sent a housemaid anyway who had entered the property without our permission. While there, they moved our personal belongings, which felt like an invasion of privacy. We had never authorized anyone to enter the property. They did bring us fresh sheets, however.We were very disappointed by the lack of working amenities, cleanliness, and respect for privacy. This experience left us feeling frustrated, disheartened and like we didn't get our monies worth (we spent 1000).Unfortunately, we will not be trying Meredith Lodging again.

The river is gorgeous and the hot tub is perfect. Government Camp is a short 15-20 minute drive up the mountain, and there are plenty of restaurants and stores with necessities within 6 minutes of the house. For a family of 3, it was a perfect size and a wonderfully relaxing getaway, it even snowed on Christmas morning!! Two suggestions to improve the cottage: 1. Light the path to the fire pit by the river 2. Place paving stones in the rocks leading to the hot tub (those rocks are sharp!)

There was nothing cozy or comfortable except for the bed, which had a stained cover, and continuing with the lack of a couch. There was zero paintings or decoration of any kind. There were no curtains outside of the bedroom, so at night that was a little creepy. No lamps anywhere, including the end tables in the bedroom, so had to get out of bed to switch by door, crossing room back in darkness. I enjoyed the hot tub. The bathroom was very nice.

The Sandy River is at the end of the backyard, and the land is spotless (no trash!). Everything was clean and comfortable; we didn't want to leave, and we'll definitely be back. There was plenty of kitchen gear to do all kinds of cooking, and the water pressure is great throughout.
