The space
Relax and take in the golden escarpment and valley views from the outdoor sofa under the covered patio. Cook up a sumptuous meal on the Ziegler & Brown BBQ or in the fully-equipped spacious kitchen. Move on to the super-comfy sofas by the open log fireplace (winter) and still enjoy the views. After dark, grab the marshmallows and try the outdoor fire pit and stargaze with almost no artificial light. Retire to your bedroom, with its private ensuite, for a country-silent sleep. In the morning, grab a coffee, lie in bed with a book and take in the views of the escarpment and wildlife from the full- length window. During the day, enjoy any number of walks or runs around the 146 acre property and keep your eye out for a range of wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, foxes, echidnas, deer, goats and loads of birds. For the fit, walk down the trail through the forest to the creek to explore over a kilometre of creek frontage and enjoy the Olympic-size natural swimming hole in the creek. There is also a glow worm sanctuary on the property details available after booking.
Other things to note
You may bring a small dog but you must first notify us and also accept responsibility for any damage done by the dog AND understand that we accept no responsibility for anything that might happen to your dog during your stay with us.
ECOLUXE is a term we coined to describe Jingella Estate. We are truly and uniquely Eco because we have opted to go totally off-grid for all villas - supplying all power from solar panels - harvesting water (which we run through a UV filter) and disposing of waste with an Advanced Enviro Septic system. At the same time we aim to provide you with a premium luxury vacation experience. Jingella will appeal in particular to those who want to experience what it can be like to live in a sustainable way without compromising your enjoyment. Details will be provided after booking.
Please note that there may be discounts for less than 4 guests - enquire.
This is a rural property with dams and a creek and the typical risks associated with such a property. Children should be supervised at all times and adults should exercise due caution. About the host
Hosted by Peter
We believe passionately in sustainable tourism and sharing our little piece of paradise with others. We aim to not only provide our guests with an experience unlike any other but also to show how to minimise our carbon footprint without compromising luxury, comfort or enjoyment.
Why they chose this property
The Location
The unique, lush beauty of Kangaroo Valley is well known to many. Jingella Estate is in an elevated private enclave which is widely regarded by locals as the premier location in Kangaroo Valley. You will understand why the minute you turn into Jingella Estate. You will be struck by the unique sense of space and the majesty of the golden sandstone escarpment that stretches 180 degrees directly in front of you from the knolls in the north to the distant views down to Kangaroo Valley village in the south. As secluded as it is, Jingella Estate is only 10 minutes from Kangaroo Valley’s quaint village, about 30 minutes to Berry, Bowral and Nowra, forty-five minutes to wineries and uncrowded beaches and about 2 hours to Sydney and Canberra.
The Eco-Luxe Villas
We coined the expression Eco-Luxe to describe our villas. What do we mean by Eco-Luxe? Most so called ‘Eco’ places are not off-grid and most off-grid places are quite basic and not at all luxurious. We offer something different to fill this gap. Our villas provide you with an opportunity to have a carbon neutral experience that does not compromise your comfort or enjoyment. If you like, it’s a taste of how you can live in style in a sustainable way.
The Experience
We offer more than accommodation. We offer an experience. You could choose not to leave your villa – as some guests choose to do - and take in the ever-changing scenery as the weather, daylight and wildlife come and go. But Jingella Estate offer so much more. With 146 acres of grassland, forest and creek frontage you have much to explore. You can encounter a wide variety of wildlife on the property such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, platypus, echidna, wild goats, deer, foxes, ducks and numerous birds. However what sets Jingella Estate apart is our own glow-worm sanctuary and Olympic-sized natural pool in the creek which in normal conditions can be used for wild swimming, kayaking and tubing
