Located next to Barfleur (1Km), a tiny fishing port from the Val de Saire, this house is facing the sea at only 10 minutes walking on the beach from Barfleur. Inside paintings have been renewed in 2014. The bedrooms have been totally refurnished in 2016. It provides a 20 m direct access to the beach and an incredible view on the sea.

For 9 to 10 persons (total rented surface around 200 square metres):
Ground floor:
- 1 large living room (45 square metres) with a fireplace. Baby chair is added.
- 1 kitchen fully furnished : gas and electricity cooker, Dishes and plates washing machine, oven, fridge (with freezer) and all kind of new dishes are available
- 1 Bathroom with shower, wash basin and toilets. It also includes a washing machine

First Floor:
- 1 large bedroom with 2 double bed (x 140 cm) country view
- 1 double bedroom with 1 double bed (x140cm) with sea view a baby bed is provided if necessary.
- 1 double bedroom with 1 double bed (x140cm) with sea view
- Another bed is available on the landing in front of the bedrooms
- additional WC + wash basin on the ground floor.

An outside BBQ with table and chairs is available.

Beach House near Barfleur

This is a lovely house located next to one of the best beaches in the Barfluer, St Vaast area. The beach has great sand, well protected with warm shallow water. The cottage and beach are off the beaten track and the area is very private, other visitors to the beach tend to be locals. The house is spot on, we housed 8 comfortably, 4 adults plus 4 children. Two bedrooms with double beds over look the sea. The owner is very welcoming and helpful, we had a very enjoyable evening with him searching for local crabs amongst rock pools near the beach. Each morning we walked along the beach into Barfleur (about 15 to 20 minutes), where we found the local bakers and coffee shops etc; it is a lovely picturesque port, where you can find fantastic local sea food at good prices (Moules, Oysters, Crab, Lobsters etc). Would certainly recommend this cottage.

A very special seaside retreat

We had a delightful week staying at Joel Kopp's atmospheric and relaxing house by the sea in Montfarville. From the moment we walked through the door we knew that we were in for a very enjoyable time and we were not to be disappointed. Louisa was on hand to greet us and had even baked us a delicious apple cake. She was a great help to us throughout our stay. The house is very comfortable with a large open sitting room, and three spacious bedrooms, two of which overlook the beach and sea. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a good shower room. A special feature is the 15th century fireplace in the sitting room which gives the house a wonderfully historic flavour. We spent a lot of the time sitting on the beach in front of the house, going for walks along the coast, and enjoying the peace and quiet of the house and garden. We will certainly return as it is a very special seaside retreat with a unique atmosphere.

Lovely but needed a clean first.

Lovely house, with plenty of room for us and 2 children. Lovely and conveinient location. Straight onto a sandy beach with rockpools. Nice walks along the coast and nearby beaches. Close to Barfleur which has a decent convienience store, and a few bakers and places to eat. The owner was away when we stayed and the house was being looked after by someone else referred to as 'The Maid'. She didn't answer the phone on the day of our arrival, although we were able to get into the property. The property was not very clean when we arrived. The ground floor was covered in pet hair and needed to be vaccumed. The Kitchen and equipment needed to be cleaned before use. The maid turned up the day after we arrived tto collect the rent. I hope that the state of the house was a temporary thing whilst the owner was away. This was a lovely house, after I'd cleaned it.

De ontvangst was correct maar vrij summier, er werd bv. geen uitleg gegeven over de afvalbakken. In het huis zelf was ook geen informatie aanwezig.De vloer was schoon, maar dat was dan ook het enige. op de kasten in de keuken en badkamer zat een laag vastgeplakt stof. De Wc-brillen zijn verkleurd en beschadigd waardoor er verspaand hout aanwezig is. Bij de entree van het huisje staan een dweil emmer en schoonmaakspullen naast de deur, niet echt een mooi visitekaartje.De keuken was vies, in de oven lagen nog kruimels en een aantal pannen hadden nog aangekoekte melk of etensresten. Het spatscherm achter het fornuis was er opgeplakt zonder dat de zijkanten zijn afgewerkt waardoor je weer tegen een open kant van spaanplaat aankijkt, in de wasbak lag glas. Het schilderwerk was zeer slordig er zat ook verf op de laden van de keuken, hierdoor krijg je niet het idee dat je als huurder gerespecteerd wordt. De stoelen in de kamer wiebelen gelukkig hadden we eigen stoelen bij. Het tafelkleed was ook niet fris, De doucheruimte, douchekop en kraan waren helemaal wit van de kalk ook zaten er zwarte schimmelplekken op de kit. Deze hebben we net zoals bij de vorige opmerkingen eerst zelf schoongemaakt. Het berghok buiten is een rommel en niet veilig voor mensen met kleine kinderen. Er is geen rookmelder aanwezig en de brandblusser is te klein. De tuin was goed afgesloten voor kleine huisdieren en het uitzicht was fantastisch maar maakt niet alles goed. Heeft aandacht van eigenaar nodig.

Ferienhaus mit viel Flair und Charme in traumhafter Lage, sehr gut ausgestattet.Man kann vom Grundstück aus entweder durch Buchten oder über den Küstenwanderweg endlose Spaziergänge machen. Das Grundstück ist solide und sicher eingezäunt, Die Zentralheizung hält das Haus problemlos warm. Wir haben im März zwei wunderbare, ruhige Wochen dort verbracht und werden sehr gerne wiederkommen

Superlage (in Vorsaison) mit Enttäuschungen

Das Haus punktet eindeutig nur durch seine Lage - die bezahlten 200 qm (lt. Projektbeschreibung) konnten wir nicht bewohnen, da der Vermieter das Haus teilt und die 2. Hälfte nicht zur Verfügung stellt. Außerdem besteht das 2. Badezimmer nur aus einer Toilette mit Waschbecken. Ein diesbezüglicher Briefwechsel mit dem Vermieter endete damit, dass er angab, die 2. Hälfte des Hauses nur ab 6 Personen zu öffnen. Da wir nur 2 Personen seien, würde der Rest uns doch genügen. Seine Housekeeperin allerdings teilte uns mit, dass er diesen Teil des Hauses noch nie geöffnet habe. Es seien auch schon 12 Personen im Haus gewesen ! Und das mit 1 Dusche !!! Er drohte uns auch damit, dass er uns eine schlechte Bewertung geben würde, wenn wir negativ über das Haus schreiben würden und sein letzter Satz lautete: hoffentlich sehe ich Sie nie wieder ! (Briefwechsel liegt vor) Zwei Tage vor unserer Abreise bezog seine Tochter mit Freunden die gesperrte Haushälfte, für die ich aber bezahlt habe (siehe 200 qm) Von der Housekeeperin haben wir die schriftliche Bestätigung, dass wir das Haus sauber und ohne Beschädigungen verlassen haben. Die in der Beschreibung erwähnte Veranda befindet sich auf der gesperrten Hausseite, ansonsten gibt es nur einen überdachten Hauseingang. Der erwähnte Grill war völlig verrostet und auf Grund eines großen Lochs nicht mehr zu gebrauchen. Der Sonnenschirm war defekt und lag verdreckt neben anderem Schrott unter einem Dach neben dem Haus. Es gab keine Sitzkissen für die erhitzten Plastikstühle im Garten. (Fotos liegen vor ) Das Haus ist auf Grund der Nut und Feder - Brettwände extrem hellhörig Dieses Haus kann man niemandem empfehlen.

Wir haben einen echten Betrüger erhalten. Bis zum Tag vor der Abreise war alles in Ordnung. Unser Mieter teilte uns daraufhin mit, dass das Haus nicht der Ankündigung entspreche und dass er eine sehr ungünstige Bewertung schreiben würde, wenn wir nicht zustimmten, seinen Aufenthalt zu erstatten. Was er getan hat. Schade, dass Seiten wie VRO oder AirBnB diese Art von Charakter nicht ausschließen können!

Traumhafte Lage

Die Lage vom Haus ist einfach ein Traum. Die Sauberkeit war leider nicht so doll. Am Geschirr, Besteck und Teller konnten wir noch nachvollziehen, was die Vormieter oder wer auch immer gegessen haben. Ein schwarzer Hund war scheinbar auch dabei. Haben am erst Tag einfach was reine gemacht und dann war’s gut. Da gibts schlimmeres. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter und auch vor Ort war sehr sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles in allem ein Traum Urlaub. Kann ich nur empfehlen

Wunderschön!

Schönes Ferienhaus in ruhiger Lage. Wir haben eine schöne Woche verbracht und werden auf jeden Fall wieder buchen. Unsere Hunde liefen sehr gerne im großen eingezäunten Garten herum und spielten besonders gerne am Strand direkt vor dem Haus in den Wellen. Bayeux und Mont Saint-Michel zu besuchen war einfach und vom Haus aus erreichbar. Die Gegend ist sehr malerisch und bietet viele Dinge zu sehen und zu tun, insbesondere all die schönen Bauernmärkte, die jeden Tag stattfinden. Joël war ein toller Gastgeber, unkompliziert und hat alle Fragen, die wir hatten, sofort beantwortet.

Quirky and quiet

If you want your holiday house to be immaculate, minimalist and stylish, don’t stay here. If you like comfort, homeliness and books, do stay here. We loved it. Especially coming home from a long walk on the beach to an old style log fire, and tea with a slice of Louisa’s amazing apple cake. But what makes Joel’s place so special is its location. We would certainly come back - next time with the grandkids.

Situation au top. Maison très vieillotte, en dessous des attentes.

La situation est exeptionelle , les pieds dans l’eau. La maison en elle même n’offre que peu de convivialité. Un fourbi indescriptible règne dans la maison, vieux livres remplis de poussières dans tous les coins, vielles couvertures recouvrent les fauteuils et un faible éclairage rend le séjour cafardeux en soirée. Difficile de maintenir une telle maison dans un bon état de propreté. Le propriétaire impose un contrat hors site Abritel sous menace de vous facturer les frais qu’il doit payer au site. Le contrat est standard et correcte, la pratique l’est moins! Bref vous loué juste une situation,. Là maison n’est pas au standard actuel de location.

Traumhafter Urlaub !

Wir waren für zwei Wochen in diesem tollen Ferienhaus. Die Lage ist wirklich traumhaft, direkt am Atlantik. Von dem Grundstück aus konnten wir aufs Meer schauen. Die Bucht direkt vor der Tür ist sehr schön, wobei dort an der Stelle Bucht an Bucht ist, so dass wir auch gerne mal zur nächsten gegangen sind, vor allem bei unserem täglichen Abendspaziergang. Wir fanden es sehr gut, dass das Grundstück recht groß und vor allem eingezäunt ist, wenn man mit Vierbeiner anreist, ein super Vorteil ! Bei unserer Anreise wurden wir von Louisa mit selbstgebackenem Kuchen empfangen und die ganze Zeit dort von ihr betreut. Wenn wir ein Anliegen hatten, war sie oder ihr Mann innerhalb von 10 min zur Stelle. Die Einrichtung ist eher als antik zu beschreiben, als modern, passt aber sehr gut zum Haus. In der unteren Etage befindet sich ein Bad , die Küche und das Wohnzimmer. Oben gibt es drei Doppelzimmer und auf dem Flur oben stehen drei Einzelbetten. Oben gibt es eine weitere Toilette. Wir fanden den Urlaub sehr schön und das Haus für unsere Zwecke ideal ! Vielen Dank für zwei Wochen Traumurlaub !

A charming cottage

A charming well equipped cottage ideal for those who want peace and tranquility with a superb ever changing sea view. The Harbour town of Barfleur with its bars and restaurants is reachable along a coastal path ( although it took me a bit longer than the 10 minutes achieved by previous guests) It is also possible to walk via the road which I found a fair bit quicker but nowhere near as pretty. The handling of our booking was exemplary from start to finish. With a warm wellcome from Louisa who was readily available Who was readily available to provid help should it be needed' All in all a delightful stay and one we would hope to repeat.

Super Lage, schreckliches Haus

Um es kurz zu fassen: Die Möbel sind weitestgehend kaputt und schmuddelig. Das Bad, besonders die Dusche muss Saniert werden(kaputte Bodenfliesen, Schimmel etc. . Toilettensitz löst sich auf. Geschirr und Inventar war unsauber und unhygienisch. Gartenmöbel waren kaputt und standen in einem offenen Schuppen in dem Müll und Schrott liegt. Der Garten war voller Glasscherben. Die Eingangstür wurde mal aufgebrochen und nur notdürftig mit einem kaputten Schiebeschloss repariert. Die Hälfte der Türen im Haus gehen nicht richtig zu. Der Boden ist fies und löst sich teilweise ab. Ich könnte noch ewig so weiter schreiben. Insgesamt ist alles kaputt, alt und unhygienisch. Wie haben über Fewo Beschwerde mit Fotos eingereicht, es wurde nichts unternommen. Wir haben unseren Urlaub 7 Tage früher abgebrochen.

All this is wrong and false. It's only a fake. Just look at the other reviews ! This renter wanted to leave earlier and asked for a discount that has been refused after an advise of the website. HE BROKE HIMSELF all these small things before leaving. Iadvise all the renters not to rent any house to this guy.

Phantastische Lage direkt am Strand, schöner Garten, Haus mit speziellem Flair.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in Montfarville sehr genossen. Für Hundebesitzer wichtig: der Garten ist rundum sicher eingezäunt und man kann direkt vor der Haustür wunderbar spazieren gehen. Wir waren außerhalb der Saison da und so konnten die Hunde auch frei laufen. Im Haus ist es ein wenig dunkel und die Dusche könnte bei Gelegenheit mal renoviert werden. Ansonsten ist alles da was man für einen Ferienaufenthalt braucht und der Charme des Hauses trägt zu einem tollen Urlaub bei. Wir wurden von Louisa sehr nett empfangen, mit selbst gebackenem Kuchen, Cidre und frischen Rosen auf dem Tisch. So empfehlen wir dies Haus gern weiter an Menschen mit Hunden, die auch in ihrem Feriendomizil den Flair der Normandie spüren möchten.

Excellent location, beautiful view and kind, caring hosts

Our family had a very nice stay in this house. The location is unbeatable with a beach right outside of the front lawn. The hosts were very helpful and kind - we loved the delicious apple cake that Louisa baked for us! The children really enjoyed the toys and the adults found quite a few interesting books to look through in the house’s extensive collection. It all fit with the antique furniture, clocks and decorations that make this house truly unique!

This granite house was built by my mother in 1962. From 1970 French coastal laws do not allow to buid so close to the sea. That's why this renting is unique. A XIII century fire place is in the dining room, in winter, it can be used for extra heating or BBQ.

Why they chose this property

Because it is the only one house so close to the sea in all the area.
Our house keeper is fully confident and will take care the guests during their stay.
