Great place!

We loved staying here! Great location…great layout…newly remodeled! This location worked perfectly for our off season winery trip. Dave was very accommodating and responsive to our inquiries prior to the trip. This one is definitely worth making your short list for a Michigan getaway!

Great home!

This was the perfect place for our family and another family (4 adults, 5 kids) to stay! Plenty of space, bathrooms, kitchenware/dishes, and places to sleep to keep everyone happy. Great location between South Haven and St. Joseph.

Hockey Family GetAway

We had a great time; it was a bit of a squeeze and at times loud but overall we made it work and enjoyed ourselves. South Haven was a short drive and a fun day. We also visited the local park beach which was quiet and really nice. Dollar General is conveniently located walking distance away if you forget anything.

OLD HIGH SCHOOL FRIENDS GETTOGETHER

6 of us planned a few days together in St Joseph MI area. This place was perfect. Location was great. We were 10 miles from St Joseph to the South and South Haven to the north. Great restaurants, bars, shops, and the beach in St Joe's was awesome. House is just as described on the VRBO site. Would definitely go back.

The house was very nice and very roomy. Very well maintained on the inside. Outside had limited space however large enough to play catch and sit around the fire. The post had beach chairs to be taken to the beach and the beach was 2 mi away however other than all the dogs it was a very nice Beach

Great rental for families

I had the opportunity to stay here with my family and cousins. The house was the perfect set up to entertain kids with several games as well as a spacious yard with fire pit. During the day we were able to go to the beach which is only minutes away and in the evenings cook dinner and relax at the house. The house was very clean and well stocked. Dave, the owner, was very prompt in responded to any questions or needs we had. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone. We are looking forward to one day coming back!

Location, location, location!

We booked this home for a short visit and are so glad that we did! The interior was nicely decorated and looked to have been freshly remodeled. The owners supplied us with a basket of snacks when we arrived, which was a nice extra touch. The house is only a short drive to St. Joseph, and South Haven, which were two of the areas that we wanted to visit while in town. The beds were very comfy and there were super soft extra blankets which was very nice. We will have to come back during the summer so we can take advantage of the beaches, which there are two within a mile in either direction of the house! Thank you for welcoming our family into your home, and for being so accommodating!

Great for two families

We had a great long weekend with family friends. Our combined 5 kids loved having their own space in the basement w 2 sets of bunk beds, game room, etc. Fresh decor, plenty of towels, kitchen fairly stocked. Owner went out of his way to be helpful w recommendations ahead of time and welcomed us with a box of snacks. Location was good: 10-15 min drive to south haven one day and st. Joe the next. There were two beaches closer to the house nice for an evening sunset but our kids prob wouldn’t have lasted a whole day there. Even those were not walkable due to busy road (I only share this because I was wondering when looking at the listing). My only negative was the stairs going up to the front door were super narrow and uneven- could see it being an issue for older guests or little kids. Thanks for having us!

Girlfriend Getaway

We came up for the weekend for a birthday getaway and it couldn’t have been more perfect. I spoke with Dave as we entered the cottage and he helped us navigate through the house. Every bedroom had ample amount of space and comfortable beds. 3 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, a basement that my kids would have loved… we had no complaints! We took at 15 minute car ride to South Haven for dinner on Friday night, went to Hagar beach on Saturday, and then stopped in St Joe on Sunday. All super close and easy to get to! Dave had a welcome basket full of snacks for us and also made sure we were stocked with fire wood if we chose to do a campfire. It was definitely the best cottage for a weekend getaway and I will definitely recommend this spot. As a side note, I’ve been coming to this area all my life and have been in numerous cottages. This cottages is totally updated and really really nice.

Home away from home

My family and I were looking for a nice place to stay that was close to everything and this home was perfect! Far enough from the city where you can see the stars while you sit near the firepit but minutes away from Hagar Park beach and 15 mins from South Haven and St. Joseph’s. This vacation home is bigger than it looks inside and was perfect for the 8 of us staying over. Dave was a great host and made us feel welcome. Easy check in and check out process. What realy stuck out for me is that Dave took the time to explain to me where everything was located. Thank you to Dave and his family for welcoming us into their home.

Summer beachside bliss!

We had such a great time and the hosts were wonderful. Dave and Shannon even sent us their virtual welcome book that had a lot of great local recommendations. The house was clean and cozy. They provided a bundle of wood for our first fire in the fire pit and gave us some snacks and even laundry pods! The use of the space in the home was wonderful and we all loved the bunk room for the kids. We are definitely going to be spending some more time at this home. Also, Dave said that we should never waste a sunset, and he was right! We watched the sunset at Hagar Park and it rivaled California coastline sunsets. Can't wait to come back.

Girls getaway weekend

We had such a great time at this home. The house is cute and had nice decorations and the kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed the fire pit at night and there was even a bundle of wood provided! The location is a plus too, being one mile in either direction to public beaches. (Our favorite was Roadside Beach) Dave was an excellent host and answered every question we had during our stay. We are hoping to come back with the rest of our families in the future.
