About the host
Hosted by Jarrod Gunn McQuillan
Heather and Jarrod Gunn McQuillan run Nature Space Resort, a boutique glamping resort in St Peters Harbour PEI.
Heather is a yoga teacher and a veterinarian who is passionate about forming meaningful connections. She loves to help guests learn about the flora and fauna here at the resort, and she loves working with individuals, families and groups on their personal wellness goals.
Jarrod is an advanced kayak coach and guide, and was the oyster biologist for the province of PEI for over a decade. He loves leading individuals and groups on the water and helping them connect to the ecology and natural history of the area.
Why they chose this property
This resort is located at PEI's "Natural Capital" where nature and history intersect. Our ocean lagoon is designated as an Important Bird Area (IBA) and has an important history for both the indigenous people of the area and the French and English settlers who came later. The water, the skies, the land....you are truly immersed in one of the most special areas on Prince Edward Island. Time runs a little slower here, so that you can spend lazy days at the beach, or on the water connecting to this incredible space and with each other.
What makes this property unique
The cottage is set away from the resort, so you have the privacy of 5 areas, but can simply stroll over for a yoga class, a sauna, a ramble through the trails, to rent a kayak or SUP, or take a tour with us.
The beaches are pristine and private. They are locals beaches, so away from the hustle and bustle of the big beaches at Cavendish or Brackley, but the same beautiful North Shore, white sand beaches without the crowds.
One of the beaches has an historic lighthouse making for beautiful scenery and photo opportunities. The beaches also show the history of the area as you can find the old pilings and wharf structures from the 1800's when this was a bustling shipbuilding and fishing community.
