Incredibly beautiful stay

We could not recommend this property enough! The building is incredibly beautiful and perfectly decorated to enhance its historic features. The hosts have done an amazing job of providing all necessary ammenities with a very comfortable bed too. It was perfectly clean and tidy. Check-in was very easy and the hosts communicated promptly. We had never been to Milthorpe before and cannot recommend it enough. The property is in walking distance of beautiful restaurants and cafes. We highly recommend and would definitely stay again. We thank the host again for a wonderful stay and allowing us to experience such a lovely and interesting part of local history.

'Olde-worldy' holiday!

Only ok. The following things made it less than excellent:Surfaces and kitchen items were not cleaned or dusted. Some light globes need replacing.Could not turn on verandah lights - no switches?Front steps are difficult to climb with heavy items. A hand rail would improve safety.Bathroom not so clean ( hairs in soap dish), shower door mouldy.Limited linen - only two towels for three days for two adults. No outside clothes line or rack to air towels etc.No broom or vacuum or cleaning clothes that we could find.Lots of dead matches in bathroom drawer and battery in candle lighter dead. Too many dead candles filling up drawer space.Fridge door cannot be opened properly. This could be easily fixed. No wifi. Not enough information about local restaurants e.g. most are not open all days a week.Too many vases with large bunches of ' flowers' taking up bench/table space. Not enough clothes hangars; no other storage. No hand rails in bathroom for clothes or towels. Bathroom not age - friendly, especially shower stall. A grab rail would make it safer.Bedroom drawers are too hard/ stiff to open or close so limited value for storage. Lots of broken and odd items in drawers.Manuals and instruction books for appliances etc. scattered around different locations. Some not applicable. No radio/ stereo to play music. TV channels for radio are poor quality sound. DVDs and CD are such a weird selection not even considered. No Bluetooth system to play our own music.Toilet cleaner

Quaint stay in Millthorpe

What a gorgeous little find - the cottage had everything we needed for our 3 night stay with the advantage of being in Millthorpe so we could walk to all the attractions. The furnishings and fittings were in keeping with the era of the building. Thanks for a great stay.

A taste of history in beautiful Millthorpe

We really enjoyed our stay. Short but lovely. Very comfortable and a great spa. The cheese and goodies platter was a beautiful touch and greatly appreciated.

Great Stay

We booked at very short notice due to a change in plans for the weekend. Things were organised quickly and efficiently for us including a magnificent cheese platter and a bottle of wine. Great accommodation for two. Very highly recommend.

Quaint. Nostalgic. Cosy slice of Milthorpe history

We stayed overnight after a Sunday lunch at the local Tonic Restaurant which was a very short stroll away. It was so convenient to book a one night stay. The building is charming and accommodation was cosy and comfortable with a pretty leafy backyard, spacious bathroom with large spa and much welcomed air-conditioning and ceiling fan. It was sweetly decorated with the pharmacy's historic nostalgia which was quite interesting. It's located extremely close to the town centre but given it's the historic pharmacy, it is situated on a main road in and out of the town so there is a bit of traffic noise. If you close the bedroom door, it dulls the traffic noise but if you are a light sleeper you may need to take earplugs. It is located a very short walk to the IGA grocer, excellent cafes, cellar doors and cute shops. The towns historic buildings are so charming, so it was fun to stay in one of the originals. Communication with agent was efficient and helpful.
