**This cottage is not completely secluded. There are neighbors within view. Also, the beach is not directly accessible from the back door due to erosion. There is a very short walk to the beach access which is about 100 feet away.
A sandy beach along Lake Superior, just a quick jaunt from the hub of Marquette, is a dream for all lovers of the Upper Peninsula. Plus, the Little Red Retreat has the aligned the true historical roots of the Upper Peninsula with the small indoor sauna.
The captivating space of surrounding this red cottage finds you wrapped amongst the trees and as you follow the 100 foot walk to the water. The ease of this single level cottage makes that small family space ideal. While there are neighbors nearby, the surroundings are ample for a quiet small family to enjoy the treasure of Lake Superior. The galley kitchen and small dining table for four (4) make for an ideal time of making memories together. To relax in the living room at the end of the day is time to be cherished.
The outside deck, plus an additional deck perched on the dunes makes your choice relaxing outdoors convenient. If cozy and comfortable, mixed with breath-taking views on a sandy beach, are on your bucket list, then Little Retreat will welcome you with open arms. Or perhaps your NMU (Norther Michigan University) college student who is excited for your visit will do the same. Either way, you'll find that Little Red Retreat provides an authentic slice of Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Accessibility: There are two steps going up to the house, and there are no additional handicap-accessible features. The access to Lake Superior may be challenging to those with mobility challenges.

Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city.
