About this property

Chalet and Garden Cottage - sleeps 6

CHALET:
You and your guests will be guaranteed a good night's sleep in two sumptuous bedrooms with queen-size beds with electric blankets and extra blankets for chilly nights. Main bedroom boasts an ensuite and private access to balcony. Both bedrooms have views across to Mt Victoria/Mt Donna Buang and old-world gardens.

The lounge-dining area is gorgeous. Snuggle up in front of a roaring open-fire on comfy couches with lux cushions and throws. The solid timber dining table sits eight. Two glass and timber doors open out from the lounge-dining room onto a swiss-style balcony that wraps around two sides of the house. Perfect for your early morning cuppa or cocktail at dusk. Cafe-style tables and stools complete the scene. There's even a day-bed on the balcony for an arvo snooze.

After a full day of bushwalking or cycling, sink into the three-person-spa in the main bathroom. There's also a separate shower, toilet and vanity in main bathroom.

Cook up a storm for your family and friends in the fully-stocked kitchen with fridge, stove with hot-plates, coffee machine, microwave, toaster, crockery, glasses, serving dishes, cutlery, saucepans, fry-pan, coffee and tea. Dine alfresco in the kitchen-garden right outside the kitchen door. Help yourself to fresh herbs from the kitchen-garden, if your cooking needs something a little extra.

Laundry features washing machine and tumble-dryer.

GARDEN COTTAGE:
Just ten steps down from the Chalet. This cosy retreat sleeps two with a private ensuite and kitchenette with tea/coffee making facilities, fridge, microwave. It's a perfect spot to enjoy a morning cuppa or evening beverage at the handcrafted mosaic table on the flagstone patio overlooking an old world garden, birdbath and a mighty beech tree.

We love this cottage so much and we hope you will too.

All linen is provided and professionally sanitised: bath towels, face washers, bath mats, sheets, tea towels, extra blankets, doonas or duvets, pillows, pillow-slips, throw rugs.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not accept bookings from people who do not have prior reviews, or have poor reviews. We are sorry we have to do this, but with over 200 bookings over the past four years, we have had a small number of bad experiences, and all of them have been with people who have not had good reviews. Unfortunately, a few have spoilt it for many.

We thank you for your understanding.

My husband Bernie and I purchased the property in November 2018 and we're still in awe of the beauty of the place. As an author I feel inspired by the stunning and peaceful surroundings. We both like to garden and enjoying putting our stamp on the place. Although, to be perfectly honest, I'm more Bernie's trusty side-kick and design consultant. He does most of the work.
The Chalet is a beautiful spot with breath taking views of the mountains. Overseas guests tell us it reminds them of Europe. You are welcome to sit in or walk around the gardens. Everywhere you look there is a view that will make you stop and sigh!
Do come and stay. You'll love it.
Travel safe and go gently,
Anne

Why they chose this property

Warburton is a quiet little town in the end pocket of the Yarra Valley. A hamlet surrounded by tall mountains with a fresh water river running through it. It also happens to be in one of Australia (and the world's) best wine regions!

This quaint little village sits at the end of the dividing range in Victoria, influenced by the Bass Strait weather patterns. It is lush year round with abundant wildlife and dense flora.

Bushwalking; amazing walks surround the town..

Bike riding; Some people choose to ride all or part of the 40km historic Lilydale- Warburton rail trail. Mountain bike tracks are great to ride (bikes are available for hire in the street at the Cog Cafe).

The River; Swim, kayak or tube in the fresh water river in summer.
Winter; Fun in the snow in winter, tobogganing.

What makes this property unique

The Chalet and Garden Cottage has a European feel; just 70klms from Melbourne. Nestled between mountains, the vista is breath taking and constantly changing. From the balcony you have a bird's eye view of a lush landscape all year round. During autumn the trees just show-off with their colorful foliage. Colder months offer a winter-wonderland at Mount Donna Victoria, just 17klms up the mountain; toboggan, build snowmen or just have a good old snowball fight. Springtime is gentle, colourful and exquisite.

Even in our blasting summer, The Chalet and Garden Cottage offers an escape; cool nights, mist on the mountain and cool trees offer a haven.
