Watch Whales From Your Living Room! King Primary Suite, Sauna, and Hot Tub!
Whale Watch Lookout - Meredith Lodging
Tucked into a secluded neighborhood, Whale Watch Lookout is aptly named—from the living room, dining room, and kitchen, you have unobstructed views down to rocky Boiler Bay, an area frequented by gray whales feeding along the shore. Beautifully landscaped with an ocean-view deck that spans the back of the home, Whale Watch Lookout provides brilliant outdoor space for dining and taking in the view with family and friends.
The vaulted great room has windows and skylights for plenty of Pacific light, and you’ll enjoy relaxing on the sofa near the pellet stove and huge wall-mounted TV. An ocean-view dining table seats the whole family, and three can sit at the granite breakfast bar, elevated so you can whale watch as you enjoy your morning coffee. The large, fully equipped galley kitchen has beautiful granite counters, tile floors, a double oven, a wine chiller, and a walk-in pantry, plus skylights to brighten your work. Two main-level bedrooms have king beds; one has a full bathroom with a walk-in shower.
Another king bedroom shares space downstairs with a media room full of plush sofas and a flat-screen TV, not to mention a built-in sauna and a ping pong table. Walk outdoors to the hot tub tucked alongside the two-car garage. Dining and shopping in delightful Depoe Bay are less than a mile away; it’s also an easy drive to Salishan and Lincoln City to the north or Newport to the south, making this home an excellent base of operations for a wonderful stay at the coast. Add the wonder of watching whales frolic, the pleasure of a glass of wine on your deck as the sun sets, and the luxury of a sauna or hot tub soak to your next Central Coast adventure!

We had a great time staying at this home. It is conveniently located between Newport and Lincoln City, so we could easily see other places after exploring Depoe Bay. It’s a nice quiet neighborhood. We especially enjoyed the view of the ocean out the wall of windows.

Poorly stocked kitchen and what there was wasn’t fully clean. The hot water didn’t work in some of the sinks
clean, reasonably updated, need to have a washer and dryer that works, had to leave 1 night earlier to be able to find laundromat and be ready to continue with travel arrangements with clean clothes!

Hi Robert! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay, but we are sorry for the inconvenience you encountered with the dryer. We reviewed the notes on your reservation and see there is an issue with the breaker and a vendor is needed. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and hope to provide you with a problem-free stay in the future!
Amazing property! Location was perfect, views from the deck were stunning! Perfect amount of space for our group! Only issue was the drinking water. Water from the tap & filtered both tasted extremely salty. Would recommend to anyone booking this place to bring bottled water!

It was a great place to spend a week, comfortable beds, just wish there wasn't a highway between the house and the ocean, couldn't hear the waves. But a great view.

Hi Julie! Thank you for your 5-star review. We are so glad you had an enjoyable stay at beautiful Whale Watch Lookout, and hope you will book with us again!
We had 6 guests and overall really enjoyed the property but cooking and food prep proved to be a challenge due to lack of supplies in the kitchen. Very limited utensils, dishes. No wine glasses, no salt and pepper or any oil for cooking. Usually these are provided with vrbo rentals. There were many empty cabinets and drawers in the kitchen

Hi Brandi! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay, but we are sorry you were not satisfied with the kitchen inventory. The home should have been stocked with salt & pepper and we have sent a reminder to our local property team. We value your booking and hope to provide you with a more seamless stay in the future.
House was favorable to all inhabitants. Nice view of ocean for King Tides. KItchen well appointed and functional. Only drawback, toting groceries, luggage, and wood pellets upstairs.

Hi Syndee! Thank you for your 5-star review and choosing to spend your child's birthday with us. We loved hosting your family, and hope you will book with us again!
My family of 10 stayed, the view was fabulous and the home was big enough for us all, we chose this home because it had a large kitchen, unfortunately the dishwasher wasn't working which was communicated the day before our arrival. Also, all the bedrooms had king beds. The Internet was a little hit and miss. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would rent again.

Hi Teresa! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us; however, we are sorry you encountered a few issues. We loved hosting your annual family beach trip, and hope you will book with us again!
We had a wonderful time at Boiler bay and really enjoyed the property. They had several extras like the sauna, hot tub, and ping pong table. Plenty of room for adults and kids to have their own space.
The only down side was the well water tasted very salty and we needed to purchase water. That really wasn't a big deal and plan to stay here again!
Property is lovely. House is very clean. Please fix the dishwasher, salt water RO system for drinking water.
Also, the sofa in the upstairs requires replacement due to age and fraying. Otherwise, very enjoyable home.

Hi Cheryl! Thank you for your 5-star review. We are so glad your family had an enjoyable and memorable stay. We loved hosting you at Whale Watch Lookout, and hope you will book with us again!
Wonderful house, with lots of space for a large family. We had 8 people and there was plenty of room for all of us. We had three vehicles and there was no issues with parking. We really enjoyed the open upstairs level as it had a wide open kitchen space with an excellent viewing of the ocean. If it’s a clear morning / day you will wake up with a beautiful view. There is restaurants and grocery store within 5 minutes from the house. You will enjoy your stay as we have. Enjoy.

Decent
Overall great time but has its issues
- the master shower head is AWFUL. No pressure.
- upstairs guest toilet lid is broken and sharp
- couch upstairs has holes and is falling apart everywhere!
Hot tub was NOT clean.
Definitely disappointing in some aspects but with a few small fixes this house would be 5 stars..

Smelled and somethings were broken.
As you come into the door you smell a musty odor, the bedding smelled of this too. So we practically had one day of cleaning sheets and towels. The chairs around the dining table were extremely uncomfortable as were the couches. We didn’t know how to use the shower upstairs in the hallway (and should have had instructions).
The couch near the kitchen was broken, the couch in the garage looked broken, and the closet door was broken ( in the bedroom to your right upstairs). The garage should have been cleaner. The refrigerator was too close to the wall so it made it hard to put anything in it. Other than that we had a good time. I was with my family so that made things better.

Beautiful View
Overall, my stay was great. However, there were a few things that left a little to be desired. Half of the lights in the kitchen did not work, none of the lights out on the deck worked, the fridge/freezer leaked water, the washing machine leaked water, there was no cold water at the kitchen sink, and every water source tasted like salt water. Individually, none of these things are a huge deal, but when added up, it does become a little annoying and makes you feel like there is lack of attention to detail. When you pay close to 1000 for a weekend, there are just certain things you expect to work. Also, i tried very hard to get early check in. It took several messages, but we were finally able to get it. When i got there, the pin i was given for the key pad did not work and we had to call. They lady was very nice and got it switched over right away. Again, not a huge deal. despite these few minor inconveniences, we enjoyed the stay, but will likely try somewhere different next time.
