The Crow's Nest Garden Bunky, located on a quiet street in the charming town of Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island, is a unique and relaxing island get-a-way. A five minute walk between both the beach and downtown Qualicum puts you in the middle of everything! Local golf courses, the Heritage Forest, Saturday Farmer's Market and many walking trails are also nearby. Although you are so very close to everything, the privacy of this property makes it feel like you are in the country!
THE SPACE
This private, cozy bunky features one double and one twin size bed. A Keurig coffee pot and bar fridge are available for your convenience. An outdoor shower and compost toilet are both on site. Relax in the hammock or lounge in this beautiful, quiet garden space.
GUEST ACCESS
You can park on the gravel pad at the front of the house. Walk through the back gate, up to the bunk house at the back of the property. That back area will be your space while you are with us.

We have one small, friendly, non shedding dog named Maggie May who will be curious to meet you

Absolutely wonderful stay! Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved our stay! Joanne and Blaise were very warm and welcoming. The cabin felt like a retreat away in the woods. The bed was very comfortable and so was the duvet. It is beautifully decorated. Loved showering outside, felt very freeing! The location is wonderful too, close to the water and beautiful old growth forests and there were many things for my daughter and I to do. Ten put of ten! Thank you Joanne and Blaise!!

Hidden Gem in Little Oasis

This place was a WoW! The pictures did not do it justice. When we got there and entered this beautiful backyard oasis, we were greeted by fantastic hosts and received a warm welcome with guided tour of this hidden little gem. Our stay was awesome. The unique little home was a perfect stay. Very comfortable and outdoor bathroom and shower were not at all a problem. Tons of provisions to make sure you have everything you need depending on what you're there to do. Will definitely return and recommend to others. A+

Quaint unique bunkhouse

This was sweet, cleverly laid out bunkhouse. Everything was well thought out. It was beautifully design and smelled of beautiful cedar. Our host was extremely welcoming and thoughtful, providing an extra fan with the extreme heat and checking in to see if needed anything. The composting toilet was efficient and clean, and the outdoor shower was beautiful.

Blaise and I retired to Qualicum Beach from Calgary in 2013. This island has always called to us and we finally made the move. The wooden art and some of the iron works you see on the property are Blaise's hands work. The gardens have my thumbprint! Together we enjoy so many activities and hobbies in this beautiful island oasis.

Why they chose this property

Our 1/2 acre property is right in the middle of downtown Qualicum Beach, just a couple of short streets away from all that the town has to offer, while also being a very short walk to both of Qualicum's famous beaches and the lovely Heritage Forest, which features towering 500 year old cedars and is 50 acres of remnant old growth forest. Hiking trails abound and the opportunity for a number of eco adventures is easily available to you. The other opportunities that are close by include the year round Farmer's Market, the Old School House Arts Centre where concerts and exhibits are regular occurrences, the QB Museum which showcases the town's history, and Milner Gardens and Woodlands which is a 70 acre seaside property with a 10 acre garden and tea house. A five minute walk will take you to the seawall for strolling and benches for catching the sunset. There are plenty of dining options nearby. In town choose from quiet cafe's, mom and pop diners and upscale eateries. Plan to dine early as many restaurants close by 8 pm.

What makes this property unique

The inspiration for or sweet bunkhouse was hatched from the idea of creating a unique space for island visits from family and friends. In designing the bunky, we wanted that old fashioned, comfortable weathered look so our builder, Sam, made sure that the building materials he used, from the old growth fur floor to the old growth yellow cedar shingles, were at least 100 years old! The door to the bunky is from a hotel in Surry that was built in the 1920's! To round off this old fashioned, eco experience, we added an hot water on demand outdoor shower that welcomes the outside in and a compost toilet which is housed in the classic "outhouse" style! The bunky is surrounded by trees and gardens and is private and promises a very quiet respite.
