Spectacular ocean side experience at this stunning 1 bdm home, Qualicum Bay

The fully equiped gourmet kitchen features granite countertops, stainless appliances and BBQ on the deck. New Queen size bed and lovely bathroom with quality linens and towels. High speed wi-fi, 40 inch cable TV, Netflix, DVD, stereo, washer/dryer, air-tight wood fireplace.

So much to do – walk the beach, watch the wildlife, seals, sea lions and eagles, or go for a swim. One of the best fishing beaches on the coast. Parks within 30 minutes drive include: Spider Lake, Horne Lake Caves, Englishman River Falls, Little Qualicum Falls, Rathtrevor Beach, Milner Gardens and Cathedral Grove with its ancient trees. There are numerous golf courses all within 30 minutes drive.

Great seafood abounds in this area. Fresh scallops and oysters from Island Scallops, just two minutes away. Farmer’s markets at Qualicum Beach, Coombs and Courtenay with amazing fresh produce.

Fantastic Stay!!!

Absolute paradise! What an amazing find near Qualicum Beach. The cabin is on the beach with amazing views, and located near so many hiking trails, golf courses and restaurants.The cabin was clean and had everything you would possibly need for your stay. I could live there!! Highly recommended.

A wonderful stay!

Our second time staying here. Didn’t have the best weather, especially for afternoons on the the beach as we did two years ago. Still had some great walks on the beach which is literally twenty feet from the cabin. The place was so clean and very well stocked as far as cooking needs. Jim is a great host and I would highly recommend this property.

Awesome place to recharge, escape the city, enjoy breakfasts on the patio, run into the ocean for a cold dip, read a book beside the fireplace... Perfect base for our long weekend mountain biking trip. Well equipped and comfortable.

Bring your binoculars

A fantastic cabin in a wonderful location. Very well equipped and comfortable. I would recommend that you bring a pair of binoculars to watch the wildlife out on the ocean.

Amazing

This beach cabin was our last stop on vancouver island and we definitely saved the best till last. On walking into the property i actually had tears in my eyes, the view actually took your breath away. Thank you so much Jim what a beatifully well equipped holiday home you have, we watched seals and otters sea eagles just yards away from the deck. We cant thank you enough

A delightfully designed destination Veritable va va va voom view! Public Parking lot (and therefore people and puppies) adjacent, so less privacy than planned. Pleased to see all the pets!! Kind courteous and caring host. Will book again!!

Highly recommended

The photos reflect exactly what we received and then some. The quality of the construction, finishes and amenities are high and the view is amazing. A lot of thought has gone into providing, in our opinion, exceptional accommodation. It is centrally located for many day trips. Public access to the beach abuts the property but those using it did not disturb us in any way.

Spectacular sunrises, panoramic ocean view

Immaculate, upscale and intimate, yet grand - perfect for 2. Our only critique would be about the gigantic piece of art in the living space - far too "cerebral", in both our opinions, (borderline unpleasant to look at) was tempted to hang a blanket over it. Would have found either indigenous or nature art more appropriate or even a huge mirror to reflect the stunning ocean view! Other than that, we highly recommend this clean, comfy, well-outfitted space.

Cottage time

The cottage was sweet and fairly well contained ..linens could use updating.. Jim had call us a few days before are departure to say he was having some work done in front of the cottage and would we like to cancell....being it was to close to our vaction time to find other place...we decided to go ahead with our stay, in doing so Jim said he would reimburse us 50 dollars a day that the work was being completed...we agreed to this. Since we arrived back home we have yet to be reimbursed...we are hoping this is just a over sight on his part. Other wise we enjoyed our stay..

Just what we needed - Some oceanfront R&R

We had an amazing stay at Jim’s place, being directly on the beach was wonderful, listening to the waves crashing at our doorstep and watching and listening to the eagles and seals. Jim’s place was immaculately clean with modern decor. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had great sleeps during our time there. The kitchen is fully equipped & having the BBQ on the deck was lovely. The living room furniture was comfortable to sit and take in a movie or show on the smart TV. There is a nice wood-stove there for the colder months. The bathroom shower had really good water pressure and we appreciated the extra towels. We really liked the privacy of the tall fence around the property, we felt very safe at this rental and we will definitely book it again. Having screens on the windows and in the deck sliding door was nice to let in the fresh ocean air. We recommend Jim’s place 100% - if it’s available, book it you won’t regret it. Thanks for everything Jim.

Wonderful views

Our favourite stay in Qualicum Bay

This is a perfect cabin stay for two on the waterfront. The suite has all the necessary amenities with stunning views of the ocean. There are several great trails for hiking, biking or walking in the near vicinity. We will come again!

Really clean nice cabin. Kitchen was well stocked. Ocean view was amazing, very private and quiet. Had a wonderful time. My only issue was having to cross the lawn of the main house to deposit garbage & recycling. Would be nice to have smaller containers near the cabin. Didn’t feel right walking through someone’s yard. Would highly recommend.
