About this property
Tranquil Cottage in Bowser. Beautiful ocean views.
MacRae cottage is the perfect spot to enjoy nature , listen to the waves, in a gorgeous island setting along the west coast waterfront. The cottage is located in a Privately Owned Resort, in Bowser BC, 15 minutes from the village of Qualicum. Each cabin is individually owned. Most of the 19 cabins are used for the owners holiday stays. With a private beachfront access, it is a piece of paradise. Boat launch available too.
This 2 bedroom cabin is completely renovated and decorated tastefully with ocean reflections . Modern kitchen has apartment size dishwasher, fridge and full size stove , and well equipped amenities. There is a kitchen table with leaf and 4 chairs. Living room has a cozy Woodstove. In living room is a sopha, 2 occasional chairs, and footstool. Flat screen TVs in living room and bedroom. Free WiFi. Vaulted Pine Ceilings add warmth and character.
But it's all about the Ocean! Open your front door to hear and see the waves, sit on the rocking chair on the porch and enjoy coffee with the Eagles, as you look out on the ocean. The peace and tranquility await you. This may well be the quietest place you have ever stayed.
Two bedrooms with queen size beds, NEW mattresses and boxsprings and quality linens.
Modern bathroom with spa style finishing decor . At 600 sqft, it is a great layout to make the best use of the space. The covered porch becomes your additional living space with chairs and small tables for your use. The side deck has a patio table, BBQ and chairs as well.
Steps from our door is a trail that leads you downhill to the ocean front, the walk to the waterfront it is. It is not far, but it is downhill .
Much of Vancouver Island is very rocky along the ocean front, this resort has a sand spit for children to enjoy! You can walk for miles along the ocean front, collect seashells and driftwood. There are 3 communal fire pits, picnic table areas.
The cabins are thoughtfully arranged to offer as much privacy as possible. It is nestled in the trees of old growth forest, with well maintained gravel and paved roadways. The area has a special feeling, it is quiet and peaceful , no road noise. The surrounding beauty will leave you feeling recharged and well rested.
We provide children's beach toys , life jackets, and a cart to wheel it all down to the beach. A cooler, and portable BBQ are there for your use.
No smoking permitted, thank you. Inside the cabin or on the premises. Our property has a Smart Ring doorbell for security that is capable of capturing video when we are not occupied. It is turned off when we have guests but if you feel uncomfortable, place a piece of tape over the lens. As clearly stated on our house rules you will be asked to review and agree to if you chose to book our property: you are welcome to use the water toys, sundeck, bbq, and all amenities at the cabin and property, however if you do so, you do so at your own risk. We accept NO LIABILITY.

About the host
Hosted by Shelly and Dan Murias

Dan was born was Saskatchewan, raised in Manitoba, worked all his life in Alberta. Shelly was born and raised in Alberta. We have always had the dream of having a cottage in BC, with a grand ocean view so when this little gem came on the market we snapped it up. We still work full time but are able to visit this piece of paradise many times a year. In the off stays, we rent it through this site. Someday, it will be off rental 100% but that means retiring first and we are a few years from that.
Why they chose this property
We love this property for several reasons.
1. The view, self-explanatory, the landing page is off the front deck.
2. The peacefulness, even on long weekends there are just a couple of other owners out.
3. The neighbourhood, we're in a self-contained resort with 18 other owners.
4. Proximity to the water. We pick our oysters from the front beach. (you need a license and knowledge of what is OK to eat)
5. The view, I said that already, but it needs repeating.
6. The community of Bowser, everyone knows everyone, making it safe and personal.
