Great location, very old interior
Location was great. The decks were the best part, very relaxing and what we were looking for during this vacation. Cabin interior was old, furniture was old and uncomfortable(recliner was broken). Carpet looked old and dirty. Things that could be cleaned were. No instructions on how to operate TV and there were at least 2 remotes for each one. Upstairs TV we got working but never could get either bedroom to work. We are both engineers so not newbies to electronics. Called local number to ask what kind of coffee pot was there so we could stop and get some for the next morning, someone with a heavy accent answered and said she didnt know but would have the locals contact us. We never received a response. It was in the low 80's and the upstairs was very warm while downstairs bedrooms were comfortable. I cant imagine staying during summer months. You could hear a critter scratching around the shower area which was a little disconcerting due to the ceiling tiles being the kind you pop out and the one holding the light/fan bulged out. The location couldn't have been more perfect except for the people who wanted to ride their 4 wheeler vehicles through the river right in front of the deck while blasting us with their music starting around 10am thru 10pm. We went hiking each day and then ate dinner out. The one day it rained we went out to eat but mostly stayed in. King bed was surprisingly comfortable. Cabin was just ok but we will probably get a nice hotel next time.

Cute Cabin on the River!
Was a nice cabin with river access right out back. My kids loved fishing, we saw a few deer too. Plenty of towels, nice bedrooms. The porch swing is relaxing looking out over the river. My only complaint is getting many communication emails/texts before our trip and the door code got lost in the shuffle so I had to search for it. Also got an early entry door code which was nice, the cleaning must have been complete early, but the code did not work. Overall it was very nice and secluded from other cabins. There is a Smokey mountain trail right down the road too (Greenbrier) which was less busy than other entrances.

Mountain River Vacation
Outstanding location away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. Beautiful river setting in the woods on a mountain!!! We saw a flock of wild turkeys, a group of 5-6 deer crossing the river, Kingfisher birds fishing in the river and a pair of Bald Eagles soaring above the cabin. We found a local bbq establishment - Preachers Smokehouse a few miles away and the food and owner were awesome!! We met some local bear hunters on the driveway while they were looking for hunting dogs. When asked what they were hunting for the elderly hunter told us they were hunting for barr, that’s all they know and did was hunt barr!!! The hunter also told us that the land across the river from the cabin belonged to Dolly Parton’s Family and she grew up there. We traveled to downtown Gatlinburg one time to see the glitter and lights but really enjoyed the mountains and local spots more than anything. Highly recommend Cades Cove auto tour, where we actually had a black bear walk right in front of our suv!!! Also highly recommend Roaring Fork auto tour for true feeling of the mountains. We spent most of our time “lost” in the mountains taking in the views of fall colors and the beauty of nature and the Smokey Mountains!! We love finding local venues to spend time in and enjoy talking to locals for places to explore. We highly recommend Ray’s Chalet to spend a quiet beautiful vacation on the river in the Smoky Mountains!!! Fall in the Mountains - simply beautiful and breathtaking! We will be back!!!
