Such a relaxing and welcoming stay. The view of the river and hearing the sound was more than I imagined. Everything was wonderful except for the strong smell of animals. We tried leaving doors open to help ventilation. Maybe a tart burner or some Odor Ban to clean and spray would have worked. This would be great for a big family vacation with the surrounding cabins. It has a huge front yard and back yard. Loved the river and walking through the covered bridge. So relaxing. Great place to unwind. Will definitely try to book again.

We do sincerely apologize for the odor you experienced during your stay. We also want to remind you that we have a 24/7 support number that you receive through text message and is also posted in the cabin, that you can call during you stay if you have any issues-one quick call would have allowed us to address the issue right away.
We’re so glad you still had a wonderful stay overall, and we would love to host you again in the future!
The cabin was very spacious and with split bedroom plan worked perfectly for our group. Loved the outdoor space for our furry kid and we all enjoyed the river

Great cabin for a short getaway! The layout worked great for two couples with the bedroom each end. The location by the river is amazing! There is a huge swimming hole that would be great in the summer. A couple things to consider are: it is an older cabin and while we loved it, a little tlc in some areas is needed. Also no dishwasher so plan accordingly.
We loved it and will definitely be back!
We loved staying at this property. It was much larger than we expected, and we especially loved that there were two full or bigger sized beds in every additional bedroom. Loved the big backyard and most of all, the easy access to the river where we could wade, fish, sit in our chairs and read, jump off the rocks in some places, and float. It was a relaxing stay in an absolutely beautiful area. The property manager was quick to address any questions and was going to bring more forks when we figured out that we were short. Great place for families to play and relax!!!

Website description was not accurate, cabin looked newer in the pictures than what it really was. Coukd use some remodeling. Pots and Pans were nit the best. Creek that flows behind the cabin was great though and has a very spacious back yard.

Our website description details that this cabin is nearly 100 years old and a historical part of Gatlinburg. We do our best to accurately represent the property through our detailed description as well as photos. We have not included anything that does not accurately represent this cabin. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the creek and the spacious yard. This location has one of the best swimming holes in the Smoky Mountains.
We went to Gatlinburg to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday. Spacious cabin for the 7 of us. Creek in the back was fantastic for the kids. Cornhole and fire pit with firewood made for a fun camping experience roasting marshmallows - they even provided the roasting sticks too! Beds were comfortable. Pictures made the cabin look newer than it actually is. The place is a little dated and could use a few minor repairs (nothing that inhibited our stay) but was clean and met our needs. In a good location too. I would recommend the next guest bring paper plates because there isn’t a dishwasher so hand washing for a large group for several meals is time consuming.

We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay! We try our best to make sure our photos and descriptions accurately represent the property. We hope to welcome you back again soon!
My husband and I wanted a weekend get together with our two grown children and their significant others. We brought our two dogs as well. This was the perfect place. Close enough to Gatlinburg for a quick trip into town but quiet and fairly secluded. There were a few other cabins nearby but only saw one neighbor. With the river in the backyard, it was a wonderful spot for our son to fish while everyone else waded and played. Unfortunately the weather was not the best the last two days of our stay, but the cabin was spacious enough for all of us to hang out together inside and not be on top of one another. There was plenty of seating around the table for us to sit and play games, plenty of kitchen supplies for us to cook a big supper one of the nights, and a large dog crate for when we went out and needed to leave the dogs at the house. We will definitely be back when possible.

There have never been roaches found in this cabin. This cabin is over 100 years old as stated in the listing, and located on the riverbank, with that being said we try our very best to keep it as clean and updated as possible. The photos show exactly what the cabin looks like.
Directions are very simple, and the unit number is in the name of the cabin.
We supply 2 rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom as stated in our rental agreement. This is the industry standard.
We never refused to change linens, and even brought additional clean linens. We offered to move you to a different, more expensive cabin at no additional cost during your stay and you chose to stay at this location, so it must not have been so bad.

Musty moldy and outdated
We were very disappointed in the condition of the cabin. As soon as we walked in the cabin smelled musty and moldy. The blinds are warped and extremely dusty. The couchs are old and torn. The shower curtain and rugs are stained. We were not able to hang our clothes in the closet as they smelled strongly of mold. When i opened the kitchen cabinet to get a pot to make dinner there was mold in the cabinet. I was embarrassed that i had chosen this cabin for our family vacation.

This cabin, as stated in the description is over 100 years old, and we try our best to keep it clean and updated. If you would have contacted us during your stay, we would have sent someone out immediately to address any issues that you had or moved you to another cabin that better suited your preferences. We have someone local, on call 24/7 just in case issues arise. It is not helpful to leave information like this in a review after you have left, when there is nothing we can do to help improve your family vacation.

About the host
Hosted by Diamond Mountain Rentals
The Reagan family, one of Gatlinburg's most historic families, began building cabins around 1925. At the time, Otha Reagan worked stripping tanning bark in the Sugarlands area of what is now the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and his wife, Emma, was a weaver at Arrowmont. In 1923, Otha and Emma had saved enough money, $500 to be exact to purchase five acres of land on the Roaring Fork Creek where Brookside Resort is today. Just a few years later they began building small cabins and chicken coops on the property to rent to men who were in the area building the road from Newfound Gap to Clingmans Dome. These cabins were built with timbers from the Roaring Fork School House and Church, and some were built from log homes moved straight out of the National Park. Many of the Reagan family's ancestors were even born in these cabins!
In 1971, Gatlinburg Southern Building Code required the remodel of nearly all the buildings in the area to a Bavarian type of exterior, so the Reagan cabins were updated to conform. Not too long after that in 1980, all of the original cabins and chicken houses were moved to their present location in picturesque Emerts Cove by a local river hangout called the Flint Rock Swimming Hole. To make a few larger cabins to accommodate larger families, two of the original cabins were placed on each side of a concrete slab to form a bedroom and a bathroom, and the middle was built to form a living area. Don't worry, though, the cabins haven't lost any of their history, rumor has it that old chicken feed bags from the cabins earliest years have been found in their attics! Today owners, are proud to bring a little piece of their family's Gatlinburg history to your Gatlinburg vacation!
