The cabin was great. The one issue we encountered Geri was quick to resolve. Getting in and out of the driveway was a challenge at first but got easier during the stay. Would recommend for a nice getaway!

Absolutely horrific!!

This is a first for me, I have never had this issue and most definitely have never wrote a bad review but Within the first hour of being at this cabin we found another cabin and left. It was disgusting!! It had dried/dead bugs EVERYWHERE!! It had spider webs all over the place. A Very very rude owner. The house was hot due to being unable to turn the air down because supposedly the unit would freeze up. The list goes on and on. We was lucky to had found a amazing cabin and owner the same night instead of having to come back home and ruin our vacation.

Great vacation rental

As always Geri's vacation rentals make you feel right at home. This one is on the river with the cows across the way. Tubers were already going down the the river. It all makes for a relaxing and restful vacation. If you are looking for this, then you will be very happy with your choice.

Lazy River

The property was exactly as advertised and a pleasure to stay in. It’s located close to downtown but has a county feel to it. I would suggest an evening sitting in the swing on the deck and enjoying the flowing river that passes by the cabin!

Lazy river cabin

This was our first cabin rental experience and we had an excellent stay there. Loved the porch looking down on the river and the swing gate on the deck to keep the pups from wandering off. We felt very much at home there. Also, you could smoke outside on the deck and I enjoyed my pipe with a cup of coffee in the mornings.

Vacation stay

I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. The host is very responsive if an issue arises and very friendly. We loved the location. The cabin is lovely and only a short drive to attractions and shopping. I read some of the reviews before we went and they are so wrong. If you want a nice place to stay this is it. I know when we go down again we will look this place up.

Great location, good for a smaller group

Location of cabin is perfect for anyone wanting to be close to all the action of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg without being in it. We had 7 people from 65-14, and it was a tight fit. Three couples or fewer would be perfect. It is definitely a cozy cabin. Kitchen is well stocked but doesn't have much space to store dry goods. Property manager is clear about expectations and communicative.

nice place

We had a great time at the lazy river cabin. The bed in the up stairs master was one of the most comfortable my wife and i have ever sleep in. The view from the front porch was nice the hot tub was great after a long day of hiking. The only problem was the drive way was hard to get in and out of with a full size pickup truck had to make a lot of go down to the store and turn around so that you were facing the right way to back in the drive way every time was a little much and i had to go buy fire wood for the fire pit ever cabin we have rented has had fire wood for the guest .The road is noisy but it doe's quiet down after 10:00 pm

Dirty cabin with no yard for pet

This was a horrible experience. First contact with Geri washer was broken before we arrived. Second contact email about don’t contact me with minor issues 🥴. Well I knew then that there were going to be problems with the place. On a steep mountain side with no yard to walk our goldens. Fire pit had one moldy bench and two old plastic chairs one broken. I most certainly wouldn’t use them. Was called to inform me the toilet had issues from previous guest. Late arrival so next day did a walk thru and let her know couch had rips so I wouldn’t get blamed. Garbage outside completely full! Note on fridge said if full to take our trash to a dumping area. I am on vacation! Downstairs not cleaned. They didn’t have time to clean 🤨. Underwear left in draw in master room. Ceiling fans so dusty. This place is very dusty everywhere. On walls pictures etc. floors look like never mopped. Worst experience with VRBO. Geri allowed us to leave with a 1 day refund. Well of course you really don’t get 1/2 back. So many non-refundable fees even though it was their issues. Went to hotel and finished our vacation at smoky mountains in a clean room.

We had an amazing time at the Lazy River cabin. We had one minor issue but Geri was quick to respond and resolve our issue. She was very polite and easy to work with. The cabin was in the perfect location, close to all the attractions but still far away to feel secluded. We enjoyed our 1 week stay

Cute Cabin

It was very comfortable. Enjoyed having the 2nd & 3rd bedrooms downstairs. It allowed adults and kids to have their own spaces and privacy. The spiral staircase was a bit of a challenge for our granddaughter who was in a leg brace. They enjoyed the river as it was 90 degrees most of our stay. The adults really enjoyed the porch swing. The driveway was a bit awkward.

Christmas 2025

Found the property to be as expected for a rental; sometimes others take or cause damage that the owners may not be aware of. Go in with any essentials that you may need for the length of your stay. Owner did supply a starter of paper products, dish soaps and trash bag. Unit was clean inside, beds were comfortable and the hot tub worked great. Pay attention that this unit has a spiral staircase ( in pics) that may be difficult for older adults. If they cannot use the staircase they may not be able to get to the hot tub or back of cabin to the river due to the terrain. The road is a secondary route and has a couple of gas station markets within a couple of blocks that is convenient for essentials. Unit was as pictured. Owner has small Christmas tree placed in unit. Owner responsive to inquiries. WiFi worked well with no issues. TVs are Roku based, so remember to bring your personal logins to any services you have; otherwise you have the Roku Live TV option available.

Somewhat dirty and in need of repairs

Overall the stay was not terrible. There was obvious pet damage from previous use. The master bedroom door would not latch. It appears to be that the door does not match the frame in that is is too small. The door bypasses the latch. Cobwebs and dust were noticed throughout the property. Decorations were a bit overwhelming as none of them seemed to match giving off thrift shop vibes. Again, none of this ruined the trip and overall we had a decent stay however this is certainly not a cabin we would choose to stay in a second time. The river access is what really makes this cabin special and what really made our stay enjoyable.

Great location, soft beds, loved the porch. We only had 2 issues but it was too late to call to have them fixed. I have always loved the Smoky Mountain area & my best memories is when my Daddy would take the whole family to the mountains every year. I can remember dreaming about how great it would be to live in one of those wonderful mountain cabins when I grew up. This has been a dream of mine that has stayed with me throughout the years.

I live in Nashville and I bought my first cabin named Chocolate Moose in 2007 & several more over the following years. I really enjoy remodeling & decorating the cabins & making them cozy & comfortable home-away-from-home for my guests to visit & enjoy. All my cabins are all pet-friendly because I know how important it is to take 4-legged best buddies along on vacation.

I feel so lucky to have these wonderful cabins & chalets in the beautiful Smoky Mountains & they are all very special to me. I know you will like them as much as I do.

Why they chose this property

After being in the overnight cabin rental business for many years, I quickly learned that many guests are very afraid of driving on steep-winding-curvy-white-knuckle-nail-biting mountain roads going back & forth to their rental cabin, especially after dark.

So, I set out to find a cabin that would have easy access to all the fun activities, restaurants & grocery stores without having to travel any steep mountain roads. When I found this cabin located right off of a good main paved road & close to all the activities, I knew this would be one of the favorite places for my guests to stay. Being located right on the riverbank of the Little Pigeon River was really a plus.

When I saw that the cabin had ZERO STEPS to walk onto the deck & enter the cabin's main level & for a vehicle to be able to pull right up to the deck, I knew this was another important thing for so many of my past guests. Right away, I knew that this would be my next cabin.

Another important factor was when I discovered the closeness of Dollywood & all the Pigeon Forge activities & being able to travel good back roads to avoid the normal heavy area, I was really excited to have found this cabin. And, being located right on the river! What could be better than that!!

Contractors & I gave this cabin a mayor over-haul & face-lift in the summer of 2018. While working on it, my Great Pyrenees, Buddy & I really enjoyed watching all the friendly river tubers wave as they floated down the river. They all seemed to enjoy the laziness of floating on the river in the big tubes & relaxing & talking among themselves. That was when I decided the new name for the cabin had to be LAZY RIVER.

Over the years, I have had many of my guests ask where they could fish in the Smoky Mountain area. Now I can tell them that I have the perfect fishing spot, right out the back door of the Lazy River on that huge gigantic rock right on the river.

What makes this property unique

Lazy River is located right on the river bank & overlooks Little Pigeon River. There are 2 covered decks with a hot tub, table/chairs, rocking chairs & porch swing. Also. a fire-pit in the back yard overlooks the river. For safety, the path going down to the river has a hand-rail. It leads right to the river from the back yard. There you can fish, swim, wade, tube, kayak or just enjoy the peacefulness of the river. Access to the river is from the lower level deck, a path with a hand railing leads right to the river.

Lazy River has such a convenient location from I40 & then being able to go into Pigeon Forge, Sevierville & Gatlinburg on good main paved back-roads to avoid usual traffic.

There are no scary mountain roads to climb. It is off of the main road that will take you to Pigeon Forge without the usual heavy traffic. There are gas stations, grocery stores, markets, bars & other businesses all within 1/2 mile of the cabin on this main road, making it very handy not to have to get into the traffic unless you want to.

This cabin has been completely remodeled & decorated inside & out. I think my guests will really enjoy spending time at Lazy River as much as Buddy & I love it there
