Private Estate with Incredible Views and Three King Beds!

Welcome to the Avocado House! This lovely home is nestled on the east side of Mount Helix with amazing views of the city and surrounding mountains. Conveniently situated a short distance from Interstate 8 and Highway 94. Just 15 minutes to the beach and 10 minutes to Downtown San Diego. Travel East and enjoy the casinos!

This lovely home has four well appointed bedrooms. Three bedrooms have new king beds, and the fourth bedroom has a trundle bed that can be used as two twins or a king size bed. The master has its own bathroom. Large living room overlooks the beautiful salt water pool and the valley. The large kitchen has all the necessary equipment for the pickiest of cooks. Laundry area is equipped with two new LG washer and dryers.

The pool has a beach entry and is heated with an electric heat pump. As opposed to gas or propane, heat pumps use electricity to heat water. Instead of creating heat through burning fuel, heat pumps capture heat from the surrounding air, then transfer that heat to the swimming water. In cooler months, the water temperature will not heat above the outside temperature. The house uses solar for electricity.

This property is situated on an acre and is very secluded. Enjoy the comforts of the country in the middle of America's finest city!

Secluded Home Close to Everything
My family of 4 enjoyed the space & comforts of this home. The house is well appointed; secluded from the rest of the area; local restaurants are plenty & surprisingly moderately priced; and most tourist spots we went to/from were within 25 minutes and easy commutes. The weather was a bit chillier than we had hoped for, so unfortunately the pool never got quite warm enough to use, but the outdoor seating areas and garden were lovely.

Our family coming from 4 states (Minnesota, Washington, California and Illinois) had a wonderful time at this property. It was very spacious with comfortable beds. We enjoyed the view (sunrise and sunset). Wish we could have stayed longer. I would recommend this property.

SDSU Freshmen move-in
Was moving our daughter into her freshmen year at SDSU. House was better than the details in the VRBO listing. Lots of space, pool and view were postcard worthy. Property owner kept in communication with us while Tropical Storm Hilary was approaching to keep us informed of local alerts and info. Plan to stay here again for an upcoming SDSU visit with our daughter.

We are a retired couple who occupy the home on a part time basis.

Why they chose this property

This home has been lovingly cared for by the owners. It is a home that is shared with family, friends and guests. All the proceeds that are generated by the home go back into the house for continued upgrades and enhancements. Recently the Grows replaced all the windows in the house and upgraded the appliances. New large glass sliding doors were added to the living room to enhance the fantastic view. The Grows love sharing their home and continue to work on it keeping it in the best condition.

What makes this property unique

The Avocado House is very unique. It has a "feel" of being in the country but is very conveniently located to everything. The property wraps around a hillside which gives visitors views from multiple angles. Patios circle the house and are connected by stone and tile walkways. Small gardens accompany the patios giving the house a secluded yet scenic setting.

The owners have continued to upgrade the interior and exterior of the home since it was purchased in 2001. The bathrooms have all been upgraded as well as the kitchen. The home is very clean and well appointed. The design is new, bright and airy.
