About this property

Kookaburra - Private One Bedroom Cottage with Lake View

Kookaburra Lakehouse is a purpose-built house nestled among the rain forest trees on a 5-acre property overlooking a small lake. Relax and unwind on the large deck and soak up the sounds of nature in this peaceful and tranquil bush setting. The property is close to town, the golf course and Baroon Pocket Dam. Enjoy a delicious breakfast featuring locally sourced products before exploring the surrounding area. Let us be your home away from home!

Kookaburra Lakehouse is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom house providing a modern, clean and quiet living space in a garden setting. The front door opens into the open plan kitchen-dining-lounge area. The kitchen has high end appliances, with ample cupboard and stone benchtop space.

The back wall of the living area is made up of a full width window and sliding door that opens up on to the large deck overlooking the lake.

The bedroom has sliding door access to the deck and overlooks the lake, the rain forest and macadamia trees. It has its own ensuite bathroom with large shower and a Queen bed.

There is a wood burning stove in the living area and enough wood for the cold nights in winter is provided. There is also a reverse-cycle air-conditioner in the bedroom.

* We provide a delicious breakfast basket filled with local and home-made produce. From freshly baked bread, croissants and pastries to eggs from our chickens and fresh local seasonal fruit to milk and yoghurt from Maleny's award-winning dairy and cheese factory; breakfast at On Burgum Pond is the perfect way to start your day.

* If you require more wood, you are able to purchase from us, IGA, Woolworths and the Service Stations.

* Our property is semi-rural and is not on town water or sewerage. Our water comes from rainwater tanks, and we have a wastewater treatment plant. The house has its own tank, and the water is filtered, so perfectly safe to drink.

* As we are semi-rural and part of a wildlife corridor, the property is not fenced. We also ask that dogs remain on lead at all times when on the grounds as we have an abundance of bird and wildlife on the property.
We allow a maximum of 2 pets (but can be flexible depending on size and cottage).

* There are pasture-fed free range chickens on the property

Just what the doctor ordered

Perfect place for a weekend away from it all - great cottage in beautiful setting. Town is only just down the road and plenty of food options if you don't feel like cooking.

Everything about the cottage was perfect, clean, comfortable furnishings best equipped kitchen we have ever come across . Plenty of wood for the fire, beautiful deck overlooking the lake but private. The breakfast hamper was so nice, warm freshly baked bread, fruit local yogurt, shortbread buscuits, cereal, fresh eggs from their own hens. Could not fault anything about this cottage. Perfect romantic getaway to celebrate wedding anniversary thank you we will be back.
