All bookings are separated with a 1-night vacancy. This allows time for cleaning the large property, and the potential for early checkin by our guests.

Bellheim lies in the rolling hills of the Texas Bluebonnet Country, one hour west of Houston, on a 100-acre ranch offering peaceful, scenic views and outdoor activity. The house is two stories (1,700 sq ft), with beds for 11 and thick foam mattresses and bedding for an additional 4 (or very comfortable bunk beds for 4 down at Hog Heaven cabin).
The master bedroom is downstairs. Two bedrooms are upstairs. Each level has a bath. The house has free wireless, internet (wifi). (SEE CAPTIONS UNDER PICTURES FOR BED ARRANGEMENTS.)
The Bellheim ranch is located on a country road 3.5 miles outside of Bellville. 1/2 mile of Piney Creek flows through it—a beautiful sandy-bottom, clear-water creek. The best way to describe Piney: a giant sandbox with clear water running through it! Children love it; they play in it for hours!
For all 3 TVs in the house, Roku voice remotes are used to select content from internet streaming services, or air-cast from your personal device. Select from a vast array of free services or from your own subscription service. Use your voice when selecting a streaming service (Roku remotes provide this technology for all TVs). Simple instructions are provided: for example, say “launch Netflix”, or "find kid TV shows," or "find all Clint Eastwood movies," or "find It's a Wonderful Life movie." You’ll be amazed. Bellheim is a blend of high-tech and amazing outdoors!
Or switch any TV to LiveTV with a selection of over 128 Houston broadcast channels, including all four major networks (ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC).
Secluded in the woods along Piney Creek is a custom-built cabin called Hog Heaven. It’s powered by the sun using a 2925 watt solar array. A highly efficient heat-pump provides A/C, or propane heater for heating. You are sure to be impressed as you solve all the problems of the world relaxing in Hog Heaven and watching your children play in clear, sandy-bottom Piney Creek! FREE DAY USE!! Overnight for $30/nt. FREE OVERNIGHT STAYS when booking for 14 people! For a Hog Heaven video, go to YouTube and search for "Hog Heaven Cabin".
AFFORDABLE. FREE BOAT USAGE (row boat and peddle boat).
Outdoor activities include:
-- Two ponds for fishing, swimming and boating (row boat & pedal boat provided, including life vests). CATCH & RELEASE fishing only (large bass, perch, catfish).
-- Acres of wildflowers around the house when in season (Bluebonnets, Texas Stars, Black-eyed Susan). Season is March to mid-April.
-- Fire up the large BBQ pit on the outdoor deck (just bring charcoal).
-- There's a ping pong table in the garage, setup and ready to play.
-- Roast your Smores and other favorites on the fire pit down at the windmill.
-- Enjoy solar-powered Hog Heaven cabin deep in the woods along Piney Creek (1 MILE FROM HOUSE). Play the owl CD at Hog Heaven. Giant owls will come and join in!
-- Enjoy 1/2 mile of sandy-bottom Piney Creek for fishing and swimming (1 MILE FROM HOUSE).
-- Explore miles of trails (throughout the 100 acres) with your four-wheeler (ATV, side-by-side) or bicycle.
Hog Heaven cabin is down at Piney Creek, 1 MILE FROM THE HOUSE, set back in the woods, accessible by car, AWAY FROM IT ALL! ****YES, EVEN AWAY FROM THE INTERNET!!**** There are bunk beds for 4 (bring your own linens) and sleeping bags for 3. Next to it is the best little (bug free) outhouse in Texas (give it a try!). ADULT SUPERVISION REQUIRED! OVERNIGHT STAYS REQUIRE AN ADULT.
There are Bellheim Springs that feeds our smaller (spring) pond.
To rent a 4-person UTV for exploring the trails, contact "WC Tractor, 5435 Hwy 290 E, Brenham, TX." Or rent an ATV from "ATV 4x4 Adventure Rentals in Houston." The first option is much cheaper.
Cattle roam the back 90 acres. Pets ages 1 year or over are welcome. Pet fee required.

About the host
Hosted by Kermit Graf

In 2011 I retired from 31 years as an engineer with Schlumberger. My wife and I own and manage three vacation rental properties. We enjoy providing relaxing and safe properties for our guests and their families.
We are both originally from Houston, then moved to Austin in the late 1960s when attending, then graduating from, the University of Texas, where we met each other in the Longhorn Band. Hook-em Horns!

Why they chose this property
Bellheim is 104 acres of land owned by the Grafs, a family of German immigrants who settled here in 1853. Johann Graf immigrated from Posen, Prussia (currently, East Germany), in 1853, landed in Galveston, then settled in this area and called it the “Piney Community.” Bellheim includes ½ mile of a clear, sandy-bottomed creek called Piney.
During the 1800s, the Grafs originally had approximately 700 acres of land in the Piney Community. Cotton, and then watermelons, were agricultural crops, and many Graf descendants lived and farmed in the area.
In the 1930s, during the Great Depression, our grandparents had a bumper watermelon crop. They shipped a full train carload to Kansas for sale and got a good price for them. The second carload they got a bill because the melons were sold at such a low price it did not cover the cost of freight. Life was difficult.
The land is mostly ranch land now as families have either died off or moved to the big city (Houston) where life was easier. Bellheim is the only remaining land owned by the Grafs in what was called the Piney Community. We opened it up for all to enjoy and is great for the young and young-at-heart to explore the creek, its bottom-land and ponds, and miles of trails along the creek and pasture land.
The Bellheim house was built in 1978 by Ralph Frank, Otis Graf’s first cousin and son of Olga Graf Frank. Like Otis (our father), Ralph grew up in the Piney Community. Ralph was a master homebuilder in the area, much in demand, and had a colorful character. One of his helpers would always hold a hammer halfway up the handle. Ralph sawed off half the handle and gave it back to him.

What makes this property unique
We've built a large cabin down at Piney creek. Included is an old-time outhouse! The camphouse will sleep 8 when furnished in 2016. Bring your sleeping bags now and try it out!
Mom tells Dad and the kids: “Does everyone want to stay at Hog Heaven tonight?” Then, she can have the house all to herself in peace and quiet!
