This property was absolutely gorgeous. Their whole aesthetic really helps set the vibe for a perfect girls weekend. Also, hands-down, the best stocked kitchen I have ever seen in a rental Property. Loved the fireplace, the outdoor deck and the back sun room!

This property sits nicely within surrounding trees, offering privacy. The unique barrel house has a great deck, which has nice evening lights, both on the main deck and around the hot tub. The heating tower and large chimenea were stocked well with propane and chopped wood, respectively. The interior decor is outstanding. Modern appliances and cabinets. Clean look. Communication with our host was great. We were very comfortable there. Will definitely consider this place again.

A wonderful stay! The property is private and surrounded by beautiful trees. The house was very clean, and rooms were comfortable and well-appointed. The kitchen was very well-stocked with everything we needed and more - we even saw 2 deer visiting the property out kitchen window! We enjoyed a cross-country ski at the Strathcona Wilderness Centre a short 5-minute drive away and then took advantage of the lovely hot tub. Highly recommend this property and we hope to be back!

The rustic cabin east of Sherwood Park was an awesome place to spend my birthday weekend. The check in process was easy and fast. The host was very responsive both before and during our stay. The property was exactly as advertised. We happened to pick a very cold time to come so the house was a bit chilly. Space heaters were provided to help out with that. We enjoyed the hot tub even though the quick trip between the tub and the house was brrrrrrr.

Wonderful Family Getaway

We came together as a family to celebrate our Mother’s birthday and it was beautiful and peaceful and just what we all needed. The kitchen was perfect for preparing our family meals and so many beautiful spaces for us to spend time together! Beautiful place to stay!!

Private grounds, with room to play. The fall colours of the leaves were wonderful, especially sitting in the hottub with the sunset. Beautifully renovated with everything you could need. The hosts answer promptly and ensure you are well taken care of. Very close to nature trails. Highly recommend.

A Writing Retreat Haven

Our stay at the Barrel House was unbelievable! Such a gorgeous rural setting in the boreal forest. The historical home is lovely and unique. The interior decorating is tasteful and thoughtful in every way. Absolutely loved our stay and definitely coming back!
