Quiet Getaway

We wanted a couple of quiet days in the country, and that’s exactly what we got! Fenced backyard was perfect for the dogs and outside meals. We went hiking nearby, enjoyed farm eggs and the neighbor’s lemonade stand, and settled into the comfy couch in the evening for movies. Loved it!

Wonderful, cozy farmhouse!

We enjoyed our stay! The house was everything as described. It was an older home, but very well kept. We were even greeted with farmfresh eggs and a basket of goodies, along with a welcome binder. It felt like a home away from home for our family.

We enjoyed our stay at the farm house. The large fenced back yard was great for our toddler. We were visiting family in Albany and the house location was convenient.

1st time VRBO travel.

In a beautiful location. Couldn't get any warm water in kitchen sink, water pressure low in showers but at least had hot water. Could have used a few more cooking utensils and some hot pads to remove items from oven. Washed dishes in dishwasher but not sure if the water ever got hot.

Smelled of Cat urine

The house was large and in a nice location. I was told the house was pet friendly, but I did not expect the smell of cats in the master bedroom and on the sofa in the living room. I’m highly allergic to cats and the smell in the back bedroom was overpowering. After staying in the house for about two hours, my eyes and nose started to swell and run. I had to leave after I started having trouble to breathe. If you are not allergic to cats, the house is ok. However, a professional cleaning is required to get that cat smell out of the house. I will reach out to get me refund.

Overall, walking in the door, we were satisfied. Some of the beds were not great, showing wear. Same with the bedding, including pillows. We were there during the time when it was colder during the night. There were issues with heat since mini splits were unable to keep up. All but one of the bedrooms had portable electric heaters. But using them would throw breakers. Water pressure was low, heated water for showers was an issue. We left 3 days early due to mice running in the kitchen. After talking to the host, he felt the mouse infestation was due to unusually heavy rains the week before which makes sense. He thanked us and was going to take care of the issue.
