About this property
Upscale, unique, clean, spectacular lakefront cottage with SAUNA!!
The property is lake-front on a quiet private lake with two docks, Muskoka chairs, a fire pit, bbq and of course, the BRAND NEW LUXURY SAUNA IMPORTED FROM SWEDEN!
The sauna overlooks the lake with a spectacular circular window, and get's nice and steamy in just about five minutes. All cedar, this sauna is brand new and imported from Sweden. There's no better way to relax than this! Sweat out all those toxins and burn calories while doing it!
This place is a dream come true.
In summer months, enjoy the most incredible swimming on a beautiful, peaceful and very safe lake (often, you have it entirely to yourself!). The cottage comes equipped with a canoe, a giant floating lily pad mat and tons of life jackets and water toys. There are no weeds so it's a swimmers paradise.
Spectacular year-round, but absolutely magical in the winter when it's cover in snow. The lake looks - and sounds - truly magical. When the lake freezes over (typically late December), you can walk, skate or ski across, then return inside to cozy up by the fireplace. Winter months also offer the most incredible stargazing and even sledding!
The inside of this upscale cottage features exposed pine and all-new modern furnishings including Benji sheets (the world’s softest), Endy mattresses (rated #1) and stylish decor.
This cottage has a unique layout that truly feels like a cottage, with nooks and crannies and spaces to enjoy time together as well as time on your own.
You’ll also find a stone surround fireplace in the living room, a brand new 70- inch flat-screen tv TV with a PS4, plus a large selection of board games, puzzles, video games, books, a Bose speaker, and a telescope for star gazing.
The kitchen features all the basics plus an Instant Pot, blender and waffle maker. We keep it stocked with basics (and extras!) in case you forget any supplies.
There are new appliances including a new full-sized washer and dryer for your convenience. (note there is no dishwasher so bring paper plates!)
The master bedroom is a dreamy loft and features a king bed, it's own private staircase and a stellar view of the lake to enjoy spectacular sunrises.
There is a second bedroom with a queen bed, which is darker and overlooks the front lawn.
And there is a third queen-sized bed with a stunning view of the lake located within the open-concept main living/dining room (note it's a proper bed with an Endy mattress but has no privacy, most suitable for children or easy-going adults).
The veranda room has a triple bunk bed and double-sized pull-out couch and is lovely for (usually most of) May through October stays. It is equipped with a heater and fan but please note it is unsuitable for cold-weather stays as it's not insulated. (***If booking November - April assume this room is not suitable for use).
Sparks Lane is a quiet street where you can safely enjoy peaceful walks, often seeing deer, wild turkey and fairies (aka fireflies).
The LCBO and grocery store are about a half-hour away in Verona. And Kingston, with fantastic restaurants and tons of cute shops, makes for a fun day trip or rainy-day adventure.
This is the ultimate cottage getaway to relax on the lake in comfort and style, set up for entire family fun! Best suited for 4-6 adults plus a few kids.
***If you are looking for absolute perfection, this is NOT the place for you. If you are looking for a really, really, really nice place to stay, run by an easy-going family who tries very hard to offer a wonderful experience, but cannot guarantee perfection, then this IS the place for you.
Some important notes:
about cleaning: The size of the cottage is larger than most, and because the location is off the beaten track and time-consuming to get to, the cleaning fee is higher than what you'd find in a city. The cleaner is a professional but like all of us, is not perfect. Expect really really good. Not absolutely immaculate. We ask and expect that the cottage be left very close to same condition it was found. Please strip beds and leave linens by the washer.
about who we rent to: We rent our property to people with 5-star reviews who understand this is a (spectacular) family cottage and not a luxury hotel.
misc: The power very rarely but sometimes goes out. Beyond our control. Once there was a mouse. A single mouse. Again, out of our control at the immediate moment the guest informed us. Once, the cleaner didn't clean thoroughly enough under the couch... you get the point.
If you tend to complain about things like this, it's best you find another spot. If you appreciate a great (nearly perfect) space, gorgeous view, amazing lake and chill vibe, WELCOME!
Thank you! We look forward to hosting you! You're going to LOVE IT!!
