Good fishing even off the dock.Cottage stands out the most at this getaway. Very clean and comes equipped with everything you will need. Be mindful of poison ivy which is present in this area, but know it is visable and can be avoided. If you are looking for a quiet place to recharge this is the place for you! Thank you Eric for the lovely place to get in touch with nature. regards Cindy and Rick
This is our second time at 4 Acres on the Lake and it's just as wonderful as we remembered. The property is large and far away from other cottages, so it's very private and relaxing. We spent most of our time enjoying the water near the dock, taking the kayaks & paddle board out, and just chilling by the fire pit. Thanks for another great getaway!
This was a great vacation spot and timing for our family. Fishing, kayaking, spectacular view!!!!!! Soaked up some sun and the energy from the water.
The two otters visited one morning and the loon was present everyday. The turtles made their appearance too. The wrens in the bird house were a little annoyed when we got closer. But enjoyed watching them go to and fro. We love the outdoor shower as well. The boys played badminton and we played battleship and cards during the rainy days. Feeling so refreshed.
So very grateful.
Mille fois beinvenue!!!!

We really enjoyed our stay!
Couldn't get much more private than this place!
We really appreciated having so much space. I had family join us for an afternoon and my nephews loved the badminton net that was set up... perfect to keep 2 small boys busy! Also loved the LARGE fire pit. Muskoka chairs available all around the property, no need to bring your own lawn chairs. And the 2 kayaks were great.. very glad I didn't need to bring ours.
I had been worried as I read previous reviews about the dock not being usable. Not sure if owners got a new dock or what the issues were... but it was a great dock! No worries at all on that end.
The cottage itself was very well equipped and comfortable. I think the bed in one of the rooms is a queen, not a double as listed. Our sheets barely fit the one bed, so this info might be useful to future guests. Loved having use of the keurig (and that didn't need to pack ours!)
Yes the water heater is a small one. So if you need hot/warm showers, you'll need to stagger your shower time.
My only request for a future visit... I would LOVE to have a small stick vacuum made available for clean up! With this cottage being pet friendly, it was difficult to clean with just a broom. When we arrived, there was a lot of dog hair throughout the cottage (perhaps the previous renters hadn't cleaned up after themselves too thoroughly). I borrowed a vacuum from a family member to get the dog hair under control.
Final note.. Seed to Sausage is one of our favourite shops in the area. Was nice to be so close! Be sure to try out their jalapeno smokies and the curry sausages... sooo good! My freezer is now stocked for the next year!
Exactly as described. We lost our older dog Milo suddenly, just 2 days before our trip and debated on staying home. We're so glad we decided to go. The property is beautiful and private and provided a peaceful place to process our loss. Our younger dog loved the beach and the frogs. We used the kayaks every day. Thank you for being dog friendly!
The perfect private escape. There is so much space to enjoy the outdoors, quiet and natural beauty. Love how well-stocked the trailer and property are, we had everything we needed and more. Sharbot Lake had anything we needed: groceries, LCBO, general store, coffee shop. Highly recommend a day trip to Perth, such a nice little town. Looking forward to our sixth trip up next year!
Eric was a great host! Our family of 4 had a wonderful time exploring 4 acres. The property is perfect for families with young kids, the trails and the sandy beach made for hours of fun, plus the kayaks let us explore the lake and watch nature in action. The cottage was the perfect size and had everything you could need. Definitely recommend this idyllic spot! Thanks again Eric!
This was our first cottage trip and I am glad that we made the best choice. Our son’s 13th birthday was celebrated in the same cottage. Our family of 4 enjoyed a lot. This cottage has everything. The kitchen is operational and has all the dishes and utensils you would need. The access to lake is from the backyard and we all could have spent more time on this vacation. We booked this for 4 days, and loved every minute in the cottage. Complete privacy! The only time we were able to meet the neighbour was when we were kayaking. Eric was approachable and made the stay very comfortable. The grocery is only 9 mins away. Overall a great cottage to spend the time with the family! There were mosquitos outside due to the weather, but we had bug spray with us and were careful the next night, not to open the front or the back door during the dark. BBQ and Firepit were a daily routine! Thanks Eric!
This is a nice property to relax and enjoy time outside with the family. Communication with Eric was easy and he always responded quickly. It's a short drive to Sharbot Lake where we spent a lot of time at the beach. Overall, great location and we enjoyed our week there!
The three of us had a wonderful stay! The charming cottage was beautifully appointed and just as described. There was plenty of heat for the chilly evenings, cozy blankets to snuggle under and a fire pit to warm up under the stars.
The property was peaceful, and fishing off the dock or in the rowboat was fantastic. The scenery was breathtaking! We can't wait to return next year.
Stayed 3 nights early October. Property was perfect for relaxation and enjoying the autumn weather, lake was still warm enough for a quick dip. Cottage was perfectly sized for a group of 4 with everything you might need to make you feel at home
My husband and our dog and I had a wonderful time at 4 Acres on the Lake. The property is extremely beautiful, with many places to explore, relax, and take in the scenery. The lake is lovely for swimming and paddling and we saw lots of wildlife. The cottage is quite small and cozy but had everything we needed and was very clean. Would definitely come back, it was a perfect getaway!
