Our stay was very accommodating and everything advertised was there. Fishing could have been better. Seeing the bear cub on our last night there really topped it off.
Looking forward to a return visit
So nice, quiet, peaceful and private. Had a great time second time around. Definitely go back again. Cleaning of kitchen and bathroom could be a little better but really didn't take away from how lovely our time there was.
We had a beautiful few days. It was extremely hot outdoors in the sun but the shade from the trees, roofed back deck over looking the lake, two gazebos and enjoying the lake kept us comfortable and the multi-zone heat pump with indoor units in each room kept us cool inside. We enjoyed the stand up paddle boards on the lake and lazing on the dock Great cottage and yard. Hosts were very thoughtful, welcoming and responsive. Thank you!
Nice little 2 bedroom cottage. The A/C was great and made for a good nights sleep during the latest heat wave. Kitchen had every appliance needed to cook. Plenty of hot water for showers. Kayaks and canoes were enjoyed by my family. I brought my chihuahua and it was super safe for him to walk around and explore. My one recommendation would be to add in the booking description that swimming is not really possible on site due to the water being very shallow and full of weeds.
The property is large and quite private. The road in is well gravelled and easy to find. The cottage is clean and welcoming. The hosts have stocked it with just about anything you would need for a great vacation. We enjoyed sitting on the large veranda, boating Bob's Lake, kayaking in the quiet bay, BBQs, and bond fires. The beds are very comfortable and the linens were pristine. We highly recommend this rental! Thank you Sheri and Brian.
Stayed for (4) nights in the Fall (Thanksgiving Weekend). We were three adults and two children. The cottage was so well equipped for preparing the Turkey dinner. Games, DVD's galorefor the children. Everyone had their privacy, bunk beds for children and adults their own room. Perfect Spot!!spot and I hope to get back. The lake had
This property is beautiful. It is high on a ridge looking through trees that are very tall and cleared of underbrush. You can see the water and it is so beautiful when the sun is shining. The cottage is very comfortable with air conditioning and heat when needed. There is a porch the length of the cottage without a screen so that you can enjoy the view. The only reason it has not received 5 stars is that the water is shallow and therefore weedy. It is not good for swimming. There is a lot of wildlife, though, and you can kayak and canoe. There is a good dock. Finally you can't drink the water which leads to using a huge amount of plastic bottles. I absolutely loved my time at this cottage and feel totally restored.
Cottage was very well appointed and well stocked by host. There were even board games, Nerf guns., RC trucks, cornhole, etc. Cottage is a short drive from Westport with its grocery store, beer store, restaurants and shops.
Very quiet location, great view and plenty of animals about including deer, birds, water and tree frogs, and even bears (they kept their distance and so did we).
One negative was how shallow the bay was - about 3' deep and weedy. However, the cottage has kayaks and a canoe to explore with (and a selection of life jackets to borrow if needed). We also brought our boat and launched on-site, that let us explore the deeper areas on this VERY large lake. One caution: make sure you have 4wd if you're bringing a boat to launch from the cottage - otherwise you might have trouble getting back out as there are some fairly steep spots.
Overall a great experience, the kids were sad to leave!
Quiet cottage well equipped. We had a relaxing stay and enjoyed using the canoe and kayak. Internet is pretty slow, around 3 mb/s, do not plan on doing too much over the Internet. Brian is accomodating and promptly answers emails.
A great cottage, it was was clean and well equipped with everything you need in a house. It’s in a very peaceful and quiet location and was very relaxing, Fishing from the dock is not ideal as the waterfront is on a bay which was very weedy, at the shoreline. Overall the bay was quiet and has a beautiful view.
Thank you Brian for an enjoyable stay!
Great private property. Cottage so well equipped. The many outdoor spaces makes outdoor living so enjoyable. The lake is very quiet. All the watercraft provided allows for everyone to enjoy the lake.
The cottage was clean and well equipped and in a very peaceful location. My rating as been reduced to 4 star due to the information in the listing not accurate.
1. No DVD player, although there is a large library of DVDs
2. Fishing from the dock is not as described as the waterfront is on a bay which full of weeds
3. Was a little disappointed to be informed a few days before our visit that we had to supply our own bedding and remove all garbage when we left due to COVID.
4. Wifi is available but very slow, averaged around 6mbps
Overall a good cottage but the information in the listing needs to be updated.
It has all details and stuff we need for entertainment and kids toys, amazing view.
But unfortunately the future so dirty and have bad smell, the lake as well
We had a really great time at this place. It was easy to find . Everything was as advertised . Loved the back porch, beautiful view of the lake. Really enjoyed the large lot, lots room for the dogs to run around. Beautiful waterfront, lots to do. Close to Westport , ON. We would defiantly rent this place again
Great accommodations, clean and everything you need for your stay is provided and in great shape. The view from the deck is breathtaking! Beds are comfortable which is a huge plus.. no back pain on vacation :) Area is quiet and easily accessible. Would definitely recommend!
The cottage was perfect for our family trip. Very well kept, lots of amenities included, and communication with the owners was great. Would definitely recommend and go back.
Brian and Sherry have a lovely cottage and property to stay at, and they were quick to respond to our messages when we had questions. The place was very clean and peaceful. There were neighbours, but they weren’t around when we were there until the last day, and they are far enough that you still have lots of privacy. The lake was beautiful and quiet. We barely saw any boaters, and when we did, they were quiet and respectful. We really liked that there were no big boats making waves and people on jet skis tearing up the lake like previous places we have stayed at. It made for some incredible kayaking and exploring. The fishing was not great as the bay area is very weedy, and according to a map we found online, it has a 10 foot maximum depth. If you are looking for bigger fish, it would be better to go out in a boat further away, but there are big fat Bluegill and Pumpkinseeds hanging around the dock that kids will love. Brian and Sherry also provided lots of toys and stuff to keep kids entertained, but we played them mostly on the porch as the deer flies made it difficult to enjoy the yard. No flies or mosquitoes bothered us on the porch at all and the couches and chairs there are very comfy. The cottage is further from amenities than I thought - My drive into Perth for groceries took ½ an hour, so stock up on stuff before you get there. In all we had a very nice relaxing time and didn’t want for anything while we were there. Thank you for letting us stay!

Great location, very quite country setting.
Brian and Sherri are awesome down to earth people. Cottage is a great size for 5-6 people(and has zoned a/c for the hot days which is a plus). Bobs lake is an awesome fishery, caught approximately 75 bass throughout the week we stayed between two boats with hot temperatures(one 6.5lb. Largemouth). Boat launch is a bit technical but navigatable just be aware of trees. Overall a 4 out of 5 review. Thank you Brian and Sherri for allowing strangers to use your cottage!!!!
