Wonderful 'meet-in-the-middle' house that held our extended family and toddlers who loved the emus! We will definitely be booking this house again and the proximity to great food in Myrtleford was a real bonus. The house had lots of room although we would not recommend the sofa bed for more than 1 person.
Absolutely wonderful property, amazing hosts! Upon arrival the amazing hosts already had the fires going so a very toasty warm house was an amazing surprise! The kids had lots fun feeding the animals and lots of space for relaxing with amazing views. The fruit trees were such an added bonus! Looking forward to returning again soon
Chris's lovely farm stay house is delightful. The house is a short drive from Myrtleford and in a very picturesque setting. It is nicely located to Yackandandah, Beechworth, Bright and Mt Buffalo. The beds are comfortable and there is plenty of room to relax. The outdoor area with BBQ and pizza ove is excelkent.
Chris is the consummate host. Met us at the property and showed us where everything was. He had the fires lit and it was cosy and warm on arrival. It’s well appointed with everything you need. Comfortable beds and plenty of room for relaxation. Easy to contact if needed. Thank you for your hospitality.
Great position to do the sight seeing of these towns. We were busy with walks, lookouts, shopping and trying new foods and drinks. Lovely cosy and warm place. Quiet amongst the animals.

Nice host who had the fire going. Place was absolutely freezing the following days, unless we set the fire. Reverse cycle heater wasn’t crash hot, we think the filter needed changing as not much heat was coming out. Very grateful for the electric blankets on the beds.Kitchen needed a good deep clean. We enjoyed the fire pit one night. Was surprised it would cost and extra 20 to feed the emus and 25 a bag of extra wood. Not much area on the property to explore when it was a farm stay. Very picturesque area of Victoria to visit.
Great property for families with kids or travelling with family/friends.
Chris was welcoming. The house is spacious and great for anyone with children or a few family members. The animals are a great entertainment for the kids.
We had a wonderful 4 nights in this beautiful and peaceful location. Our host was very accommodating including letting our kids help feed the animals which they loved. Our dog had lots of space to run around and we really enjoyed the alfresco dining spaces and the fire pit. We will definitely be back!
We had such a great time at Barwidgee. Property was fantastic, plenty of space, lovely outdoor areas and plenty of wildlife about. Short walks to creek and drives into Myrtleford and Stanley made for a wonderful stay. We would defininitely come back again.
Super friendly Host!! So many activities!! The best farm stay ever !! Love it!
Absolutely the best farm stay ever!We had such an amazing time here — the host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. There were so many fun activities to do, perfect for both kids and adults! We loved chestnut picking — it was our first time and such a unique experience. The farm also lets you feed animals like sheep, emus, and chickens, which was a big highlight, especially for the little ones. There’s a beautiful creek walk on the property, where you can enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature and take in the fresh air. The scenery all around is just stunning — truly a perfect escape from the city.If you’re looking for a relaxing and fun getaway, this farm stay is a hidden gem. We’ll definitely be back!
This lovely house it’s bigger than what we thought, very comfortable and cozy. The owner prepare everything for us so we could have a warm stay. Our children loved feeding the animals in the property. Very close to MyrtleFord center. We definitely recommend staying here.

Loved the many friendly animals (emus & goats). Super comfy & warm night's sleep and the fresh garden produce selected was a great breaky addition. For us the booking was over nested accommodation providers (Xperia, AirB&B, and Vrbo) which made comms a little tedious at first.
all of my family and friends enjoyed the house so much. The hosts are very nice and welcoming. They showed us around the house and the farm at the backyard. The kids love the farm animals. They gave us fresh sweet chestnuts when we left. The house is so clean and the interior is nicely designed and felt home. Highly recommend
One night stopover on drive to Melbourne from Canberra
We had a nice time here, and the kids loved the farm animals. Chris was a nice host and was good with the kids. The house and appliances are long in the tooth but it is cosey and warm. The town was a bit of letdown though in terms of variety of restaurants etc. Make sure you bring your own supplies.
We had a family/friend group of 8 plus 2 dogs. We had been late for checking due to the lomg drive but the host (Chris) had the house warm and cozy when we arrived. We went to the ghost tour at the beechworth asylum and had a great day in town on Saturday. Plenty to do and see. Two nights was not long enough. Everyone enjoyed the house and the animals, even the dogs had a great time. Would book agaim but next time a few more nights. Relax and Recharge.
We enjoyed our time at Barwidgee. Half way between Beechworth and Bright. The animals very friendly and great enjoyment for the kids and adults alike. Nice, quiet and quaint property. Would stay again.
