The Schneewittchen cottage is absolutely charming. We loved all of the special touches that made our stay comfortable. A lot of thought and love goes into creating this space and it shows! Thank you Henry and Barbara. My sister and I really enjoyed our stay and we will be telling all of our friends!
We chose this property because it was advertised as a bed and breakfast, but unfortunately our experience did not match the listing.Upon arrival, we found a basket of food with a note explaining they had "changed their process." There was no cooked breakfast or breakfast service as advertised, and we received no notification before our stay that this major amenity had been eliminated. Had we known, we likely would have chosen a different property. The property itself appeared poorly maintained. The grass was very tall, tree limbs were overgrown, and the grounds looked neglected. The listing highlights outdoor amenities such as relaxing by the pond, feeding the goldfish, enjoying the waterfall, sitting on the patios, and gathering around the fire pit by the creek. Unfortunately, these areas were difficult to access and enjoy due to a lack of basic grounds maintenance. Simply walking between our car and the cottage left us covered in bug bites due to the overgrown grass. The Wi-Fi also did not work in the cottage. After contacting the host, we were told to sit on the patio of their personal residence to access their Wi-Fi. That is not what we expected from a property advertising Wi-Fi as an included amenity. While the host responded to our messages, the underlying issues were never resolved. Overall, we felt the property was misrepresented and had not been maintained to the standard reflected in the listing. We hope the owners either restore the amenities
I booked this property for a girls trip and it was amazing! The hosts are great and they provide so much info, breakfast, and wine! There was two different fire pits on property as well as many hammocks and areas to relax. It was truly a magical layout. Would highly recommend!
So cute, we even got to see baby ducks. The location was perfect. Right between downtown and the winery we wanted to visit. And Henry is an absolute treasure.
Some perfect things can only be described as textbook, this perfection can only be described as storybook. My boyfriend and I were looking for a single night getaway with our pup and found peace in the Sneewittchen Cottage. From first entry you are blown away by how cute and fairytale the cottage looks that it was easy to almost miss the lovely complimentary bottle of wine the owners had left us. The morning was started off with a lovely healthy and balanced breakfast left at our doorstep, and then it was time to pack up and head out. I will definitely be looking to these cottages for any future stays in Fredericksburg. The property is adorable and the cottages are precious, by far one of my favorite finds to date.
We were in for just one day/night on a quick trip to pick up our daughter from camp and our wine allocations. The property is very close to the wineries which was perfect for us. The house is cute and very unique, perfect for a short visit. The host delivers breakfast to your porch in the morning which we enjoyed. The only issue we ran into was the hot water heater was finicky and the shower wouldn't stay at a constant warmth. I am sure it is just a setting that we weren't comfortable messing with. Overall fun, quick trip!

German Cottage Stay
The cottage and atmosphere were lovely! The only gripe we had with our stay was the fact that the VRBO listing was not accurate in the sense that we had no idea we had to pay for guests more than just the two of us, even though the cottage slept 4 comfortably (it was me and my husband and a friend). We were then charged 35 extra per night for the 3rd person. VRBO also said the place was dog friendly, which we found out it wasn’t after arriving. Luckily, the host was very accommodating and understanding. Overall, the stay was very pleasant and we would recommend to anyone! We just wish the listing was accurate.
