Ocean Break - Meredith Lodging

With its inviting front porch and Adirondack chairs next to the sea, Ocean Break lives up to its name—it’s both where the ocean breaks and the perfect spot for you to take a break on Rockaway Beach! This fantastic cottage has been fully remodeled for beauty and desirable modern comforts: a plush white sectional and ottoman face the living room’s Smart TV under a new tongue-in-groove vaulted-and-beamed ceiling that adds spaciousness to this appealing cottage. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area make it easy to eat in, whether you want to enjoy take-out from town or cook a complete dinner. Ocean Break has its own picnic table outside for alfresco dining. Two queen bedrooms have their own TVs, and share a bath that includes a tub for a relaxing soak. It’s an excellent vacation spot for friends or family who love to step out the door to the beach.

If you want to invite more friends, three other cottages, Driftwood, King Tide, and Beach Bliss, are available right next door—all with the same fantastic updates. Look up King Crab if you’d like to rent all four for a special reunion of friends and family. All are a very short stroll to miles of level sand at Rockaway Beach. Beachcomb to your heart’s content, try crabbing from the jetty, do some freshwater fishing on Lake Lytle or just soak in the sun, wind and sky. A trip into town will reward you with whimsical shopping and delicious dining. The Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad travels along the coast from Rockaway Beach to Garibaldi with open-air cars drawn by a steam engine, a unique and delightful way to see this rugged stretch of coastline. Try easy day trips to the North and Central Coast–so many fantastic hikes, beaches and inviting beach towns are minutes away by car from your convenient location at Ocean Break.

So happy when we can find a pet-friendly stay that is classy and updated. Easy access to beach. Pictures show only 4 dining chairs, yet there were 6, making the space a little tight. We'll be back!

Wonderful little cottage

This little cottage in Rockaway Beach was perfect to use as a home base for our coastal adventures over the weekend. It had everything you could want and at a great price to boot! Thank you Meredith Lodging! We will be coming back!

Light & AiryLocation Easy and fast access to the beach, great to run your dog . Plenty of parking.- - Depending on which bedroom you sleep in, you can hear the traffic passing on Hwy 101I had a question about something when we arrived at the rental, I text the number and got a response within 10 mins, great serviceSeems to be fresh & newly decoratedBathroom Plenty of towels, great shower pressure, plenty of hot water and nice touch with hand soaps-- Missing heating in that room, and base boards and extraction fan needed a little deeper cleaningBedrooms Comfy beds, both with TVs, with wall heat- - - Not much storage, but you can store bags under the beds. The bed linens where not substantial, so I can imagine if you come in cold weather, you would need more bedding.Living area Light & Airy, TV has lots of streaming options to watch a movie on a rainy night. Nice little reclining chair- - The sofa/chaise in not comfortable to relax in, lumpy and bumpy. Would have been nice to have a pull-down blind for the front door/windows.Kitchen Clean and looks new. Plenty of plates, cutlery and mugs (12)!, We wish there had been a kettle, as we don't drink coffee.- - We missed a corkscrew, we love wine :) I wish there were more lighting options, the only light that is has is general lighting which is super bright, and not when trying to watch a movieNot sure how 6 people/adults would comfortability fit on this space, but 2 of us fit

Amazing location, very clean

This place was great. It's so close to the beach - and the beach is gorgeous there! It's furnished beautifully. The bedding was clean and modern. There were plenty of pillows, which I really appreciated. It was very clean with the exception of a lot of ants and a few spiders. I contacted the property manager and they replied the next day they would have someone come take care of it. We went out and bought our own bug spray/traps that night. I'm not sure if they came while we were at the beach, but between their efforts and ours we didn't see any bugs the rest of our stay. My boys loved it and we'll very likely stay there again. One thing I didn't know to look for was air conditioning. It was warm and with the humidity, it got pretty muggy. I know many places in that area don't have AC, and so that's the only thing I wish it had that it didn't. One last thing, bring your own towels. There was only one bath towel there.
