Great getaway with beautiful views of the river. Very quiet, and easy to get to everything. Plenty of space, and exceptionally clean and well-equipped. We will stay again.
We enjoyed staying at this property. Biggest plus was it was on the water. Enjoyed the palm tree grove.

This was my second time at this Palmetto home and both times I left feeling relaxed, centered and happy. The owner and his family are incredibly responsive and dedicated to ensuring you love the home as much as they do..check out the history in the check in book...look for birds, ducks, stingrays, dolphins, and jumping fish all while sipping on your drink of choice by the river! This is a perfect place for a couple wanting to get away and a good sized family reunion!!
The property was just as described. It was only a short trip due to business, but I wish it would have been longer. The host communicated well, which is always a plus in my book. I would definitely stay there again.
Property was very nice! The view and location on the water was our favorite part! We watched a dolphin swim by one morning! Property had everything we needed as far as kitchen appliances, linens a washer & dryer etc.
Owners were very responsive and checked in with us several times. I would stay here again!
Very clean Florida home that reminded me of my childhood. Beautiful sunsets right from the back yard. Short drive to cafes, grocery and more sites. Very prompt communication from the owners. Highly recommended if you are looking for a laid back, peacful FL home to relax.
This Home is the only one accessible by the gravel road. You get beautiful views of the river from the living room, dining area, and one bedroom. The river is a great place to do some fishing. Please adhere to the rules of not allowing small children to play outside without supervision! Our group didn’t have young children; however, I thought it was worth a mention for anyone reading the reviews. The house has been updated with modern amenities, the shower water is hot and the beds are comfortable. The house is located in an area within a short drive to local beaches, restaurants, and shopping. You really can’t go wrong with this property if this is the area of Florida that you are looking to visit. The owners were very easy to contact and made accessing the property seamless. Don’t forget to read the history of the property! It made the stay a little more special.
Brought my elderly parents (79 and 81) to the river house for the extended weekend to get them out of their house and routine. They thoroughly enjoyed sitting by the river, reading, talking, and wetting a line. Not anticipating how attached to routine my parents have become, i cut the trip short for their comfort. But I shall return. It is a comfortable home in a good location for those looking to fish the flats at the point, and the owners have been reliably courteous and reactive. Overall a good experience with great memories!
Quiet riverside location. Great communication with contact person
This house was relaxing on the river and very quiet down a long gravel drive. Everything was as listed in the listing with the exception of toiletries that it states are provided. There were not any (but we brought our own). The guest contact that we had was one of the owners and he was great! He communicated well and was apologetic of an issue with the cleaning service and offered a solution.
We love being outdoors so we checked out the shore not long after arriving. The sun, the trees and the sound of the waves from the Manatee River were so refreshing and relaxing. It's easy to spend hours and giving your mind, body and spirit a rest from the hectic pace of modern life. It's a great place with plenty of privacy just to unplug.
You can get comfy in the loungers to soak up the sun or spread out a blanket in the shade under a beautiful tree to read or write. Plenty of room to run around or visit one of the nearby parks. Cook inside, grill outdoors or bring back food from a store or restaurant and enjoy a meal together outdoors. Make memories.
John quickly responded to our questions prior to our trip and was ready to do anything to make our stay better.
Been in the family since 1931! This place is the epitome of R&R yall! Wake up in the morning, grab some coffee, and walk 50ft from the door to your chair on your own private water front oasis! There is PLENTY of room for activities, or all the boats you wanna bring if you're an angler. Conveniently located to boat ramps, and a straight shot out to the gulf! The Boys (18/15) had a blast exploring the numerous state parks located close to the property! We also had tickets to the Freedom Factory for the weekend, and I definitely recommend that! Good restaurants around within driving distance. I would definitely recommend going to visit Bob and Stephanie that run the Sneed Island Trading Post across the street from the driveway. Great cooked to order sandwiches, and anything you may have forgotten too! 5 out of 5 stars!

Perfect piece of paradise!
The home is conveniently located, within minutes of beaches, shopping, and food. You can sit inside and look out the window for dolphins to swim by in the river. In addition to the location, the house has been completely redone on the inside and is very spacious! The beds are comfortable and the water is hot. The owners checked in a couple of times prior to our arrival to make sure everything was going as planned, to provide access information and let me know if they were available if I needed anything during my stay. For anyone looking to book this property, bring water shoes if you anticipate going into the river and bring mosquito repellent. It’s a very natural area and with the Florida humidity, you just have to plan accordingly. As for the river, the seawall is covered in barnacles/shells and can leave you with nasty cuts if you aren’t careful. Whatever you do, do not jump off the seawall into that river! Ease into it or use the steps with extreme caution, that would be the safest way to avoid hitting rocks and shells. It is beautiful for sightseeing, having a cup of coffee early in the morning and hoping to see dolphins swim by. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay around around the Tampa Bay Area.
Wanted a weekend to spend flats-fishing with my grown boys (ages 22, 23, and 24) in a quiet setting without busting the bank, and that is exactly what this property offers. It is an older home (nearly 100 years old) set on a relatively large property with plenty of out-the-door access to the river and 5 minutes from Emerson Point. Bait shop is 5 minutes away or you can throw a cast net out the back. Caught a few nice fish, but unfortunately, we visited as a cold-front was making its way through. Will definitely keep this place is mind when thinking of a weekend with the boys, but my wife would not have tolerated the property: she needs her own bathroom (this property has one) and she expects all the conveniences of more expensive VRBO properties, e.g., full kitchen ware, fluffy pillows, etc. as well as a pool. But if you are looking for an old-time Florida getaway, this is a nice find, and the owners make themselves available if necessary.

Five stars all around! Accurate listing, great communication, and a fantastic location. The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We'd definitely book with this host again!
This is an immaculate, updated home on a huge, private, palm tree covered lot right on the Manatee River where we sat and watched dolphins swim by every day and saw all sorts of beautiful water birds. The kitchen has all new appliances and the beds are incredibly comfortable. Private and quiet. Close to everything in Bradenton and AMI. The hosts were extremely gracious and very communicative. Highly recommend!
