We went as a group of 8 and had a fantastic time. The house and property are amazing. All of the rooms are oversized, large beds, so much room to spread out and relax. The location was great and peaceful. Would definitely stay again!

Relaxation on the water

A group of 4 friends from VA, NC, OH, and the UK met here for a few days of reconnecting and relaxing! The house is very spacious and well appointed. We loved the views of water all around! Puzzles and meals on the screen porch, morning coffee on the dock, and quiet time in the kayaks on the water made for a wonderful get away. We also enjoyed exploring Gloucester.

The property managers thought every single item, detail, amenity, anyone could ever need or want. We only spent 2 nights but could easily make a weeklong vacation here or more. This place has it all. Very spacious. We had 5 adults, 2 teens and a toddler. Location is ideal. The water views, seating, dock, etc. are amazing as the house is on a point. Jonathan, the contact person, was easy to reach to help me w the entry system (which works great). He even followed up just t confirm all was good to go. Highly recommend this property.

Our visit to Matthew’s was wonderful. The home was pleasant and spacious. Plenty of room for our crew! The kids enjoyed the peddle boat and kayaks, even in November! Plenty of relaxation, playing and food prep areas! One of our better rentals!

The property is beautiful and well set up for a family getaway. Rooms are large and spacious with multiple bathrooms that can accommodate several generations. It has beautiful views of the tranquil water within the house and out. It was well equipped in the kitchen, and lots for kids of all ages to do (multiple yard games, water equipment, and indoor room with ping pong).

Annual Reunion

Friends from the North and the South met in the middle at this historic property. The 270 degree view of the Morris Creek from the glassed in living space picturesque and exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed the game room above the garage and watching the eagles and herons from the dock. Ten minutes from downtown Mathews was a plus. We recommend this property to anyone who enjoys nature, the water and peace and quiet.

Great place for family stay

Owner thought of everything for a comfortable stay. Lovely updated house with large window views of inland waters and enough space for everone. Grade school kids were never bored with pingpong, games, books, gameboy, crayfishing, etc. Close enough to go to Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. We have stayed at other houses and this house is one of the best and we will want to return.

Perfect getaway

My family and I came down for a long weekend. Ages ranging from 1 to 83 years old. This house accommodated everyone.Unbelievable views from the windows right on the water. The host has thought of everything to make it a comfortable stay. Well stocked kitchen, comfy sitting areas. We loved the sunroom.Kayaks and paddleboards were available for use and we enjoyed using both. We even tried out the crab The host was easy to contact for any questions.I highly recommend this property. I would love to come back again.

What a gem!

This beautiful house, tucked back in the woods was an unbelievably magical place for our family to enjoy a long weekend. The owner, Jon, was amazing in all communication. The house was stocked with everything you needed to have a fun, carefree, exciting vacation and it just a short 10-minute drive to Haven Beach for the full on beach experience. It was probably the most comfortable and relaxing vacation we have had in a LONG time! Without a doubt, we will be returning.

Host with the most

Jon's home was one of the best equipped places I've stayed. Every detail was thought out. The charm of the old home with the comfort of the new addition was perfect. The bed was so comfortable and i appreciated the quality linens. The kitchen had everything we needed. We used the fishing poles to cast a few times. Sitting on the dock in the morning and evening made for a restul stay. I highly recommed staying in this beautiful home.
