This is a private Studio Apartment with an ensuite bathroom, a mini-fridge, an electric cooktop and a microwave.

The Space:
You will have access to the whole studio, which includes a small sitting area, bed, half sized kitchen, full sized bathroom. You also have access to a shared front porch and yard. This 100-year-old home has been renovated by the owner's own hands to give those visiting our wonderful city somewhere to truly call home during their stay.

Guest Access:
In the local parlance, this home is a four-bay double shotgun. This listing is the right side of the building, a bedroom with sitting area, a kitchen and dining room, and a comfortable bathroom. A wide front porch and garden with many local trees and a couple transplants complete the indoor comfort with a typical Louisiana scene outside. Guests will have access to the studio, half front porch and shared yard.

The Neighborhood:
The Neighborhood

Mid-City is a slice of everything New Orleans has to offer. Conveniently located between all of the City's major attractions, you're never far from the action! Our corner of the neighborhood is one of the fastest-changing pockets of the City. We are blocks from the new VA and LSU hospitals, which have brought a deluge of new restaurants and stores to the area.

Makin' Groceries

No where else in New Orleans will you find the diversity of experiences you'll see here. There is a Middle-Eastern Market at Mona's on Banks St, a Latin Grocery at Ideal on S Broad and a Whole Foods on N Broad, all within walking distance. Swan River Yoga is hands down the best Mandir in Louisiana, only four blocks away, and you will not regret any class there, especially not with Kelly!

Dining

You can get Vegan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at Good Karma on Canal St, Shawarma at Jerusalem Café at Tulane and S Galvez, Créole Brunch at the Ruby Slipper on S Broad, perhaps New Orleans' best Po-Boy at Parkway on Hagan Ave, SE Asian BBQ at Marjie's Grill on S Broad, the brand-new and rave-reviewed Echo's Pizza on Banks St, Baleadas and other Honduran classics at Los Catrachos on Tulane Ave, and great Po-Boys and Créole fare at Avery's on Tulane.

Indulging

You can bump elbows with Judges and Lawyers right out of Court at SideBar on S White St, the best bands at Chickie-Wah-Wah on Canal, Soccer Fans and locals at Finn McCools on Banks St, the quintessential New Orleans neighborhood bar at the Holy Ground at JD Parkway and Canal, huge selections of beer and wine with great patios at Bayou Beer or Bayou Wine Garden on JD Parkway, specialty cocktails with no pretentious attitude at 12 Mile Limit on Baudin St at Telemachus, amazing cocktails and an incredible atmosphere at Tréo on Tulane Ave, or even pick up something local at 504 Craft Beer Store on Tulane Ave.

This is the best-kept secret in New Orleans, an almost completely local crowd at award-winning and affordable bars and restaurants.

The house is 4 blocks from the Canal Streetcar Line, stop at White Street, in front of the RTA Headquarters. Trains run every 7mins to downtown during the day and at least every 30mins 24/7. More info search BlueBikesNola

Biking around Mid-City is a dream, there are a multitude of on-street Bike Lanes in the area, on Banks St, Tulane Ave, N Broad Ave, etc, but we are also within easy pedaling distance of New Orleans' two best off-street mixed-use Bike Paths, the Lafitte Greenway, running from near City Park, past the Bayou, straight to downtown, and the JD Parkway Path, connecting with the Greenway by the Bayou and heading Uptown! More info search Bike Easy or Lafitte Greenway

Bus

Two blocks from the house at S Broad and Tulane Ave, the JET E-2 Bus runs directly to the Airport, the No. 39 Tulane Bus runs downtown and in the other direction meets up with the St. Charles Streetcar at S Claiborne and S Carrollton Ave, and the No. 94 Broad Bus runs uptown or through Gentilly to New Orleans East. Studio in Mid-City
Cute little studio in Mid-City. Good location and better than a hotel room. Not a full kitchen though and the walls are thin, which wasn’t a problem until there were renters next door who you could hear all night. But the property itself was clean and nice and the management was very responsive.

Studio in Midcity
My daughter and I just moved to New Orleans with our fur babies. We wanted to do a short term rental while we looked for a place. This VRBO was a good fit because they have a great pet policy and Midcity is actually a great place and where we are looking to rent more permanent housing around. The management is responsive and helpful. Things to note: not a full kitchen and you can sometimes hear (very clearly) the next door renters. Luckily it’s also a VRBO so it’s never for very long
