Fun getaway

We drove out for a quick ski trip with my son and his friends, they had a great couple days at Ski Cooper, great little place

Property Needs Work

This place is in a great location. However, it is not a place that I would stay again, nor would I stay in anything managed by the ownership group. The automatic door lock did not work well at all. Sometimes it would unlock on the first try, sometimes it would take 15 times to unlock. This is what happened when we arrived at around 10:30 on the first night of our stay. I called the "emergency" number and was told that someone would get back to me "when they could". Not good enough. The gate to the yard was broken. Not a good situation since we were traveling with 3 dogs. I reported this and was sent an email stating that they would notify maintenance. No one ever came to look at the problem during our stay. The air conditioner in the house did not work. It was 78 degrees inside when we checked in and never got below 74. I reported this and was sent an email stating that they would notify maintenance. No one ever came to look at the problem during our stay. The place is old, beat up and needs to be remodeled but ownership is clearly just bleeding all the cash out of it that they can.

Unfortunate Disappointment

Unfortunately, the property was not what we expected for a fun holiday weekend. The photos do not represent the lack of quality with the property. Cleaning – It was apparent someone stayed at the property the night before and was there hours prior to our 4 pm arrival. We called and cleaning crew showed up quickly, however, we had to vacate the property for over 2 hours. Not ideal after traveling and eager to get inside and cook a meal together which we couldn’t do. Yard – not at all reflective of photos. Gate is broken, very hard to latch, wood fence is falling apart, yard was a foot tall with tons of weeds, no area to play any games and felt like a field with tons of insects, sitting on the patio. Not ideal for our pets either. Grill – we were going to grill until we opened it and found remnants of chicken from a past meal… No thank you. Climate – yes, we did understand there is not AC but there are only (2) oddly-placed fans in the hallway on the main level. It was VERY warm in the house. It does appear there is AC or some sort of fan but it doesn’t cool the home at all. At night it was uncomfortable. Great Western did refund our cleaning fee but even paying over $275 per night for this property with that refund is not worth it at all. There were no other accommodations on a holiday weekend to move to. Sadly, we wouldn’t recommend or return.
