About this property

Perfect Scalloping HQ. No obstructions. Relaxing.

This is an ideal vacation home! Very spacious, clean, and comfortable river house on a canal that leads to the Crystal River. No bridges. It is in a quiet, tucked away neighborhood off Fort Island Trail. Beach is about 4 miles away and public boat ramp is within one mile. The house has a split bedroom floor plan, wide open living area, two car garage with opener and a screened porch overlooking a picturesque backyard and canal. All appliances and washer/dryer have recently been replaced. A new spa was installed in 2023. Perfect for pleasure and relaxation. Master bedroom is large and includes a king size bed, and bath. Total living area is 2100 SF. Extra amenities include two kayaks, a bumper pool table and a six person hot tub. It provides a relaxing refuge after a long day on Crystal River or the Gulf. A fold down kayak launcher is provided on the floating dock. The dock will easily accommodate a 24’ or larger boat. A biking and walking trail is less than a quarter mile away. Spectrum streamed through Roku devices is provide on all four TVs. High speed internet through Spectrum. Our across the street neighbor is a fishing boat Captain. Very nice!

The home was clean and comfortable. Very spacious. Beds were very comfortable. We loved the screened porch overlooking the canal. Appreciated the convenient location, and the quiet safe neighborhood. We did not utilize the hot tub or the kayaks. The garage was a real plus. It was a peaceful trip!

Manatee Heaven

We had a wonderful stay and this has been our favorite trip by far! We took our bikes to a great fishing hole close to the house, took a short drive to fort island beach to play in the water, rented a boat for the day, kayaked up and down the river, played in the hot tub, and shopped in town. The owner is extremely responsive and accommodating! Great stay!

Great location for boaters

Great house in a great location for anything boating. Easy access to kings bay, springs, sandbars and scalloping. The house had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The host was easy to communicate with and was prompt to address any questions we had. We look forward to visiting again soon!

Awesome place to stay!

Everything we could have asked for on this scalloping and fishing adventure with the grandkids. Public boat launch just down the road, easy access from the dock to the gulf, bait shop just up the road. Grocery stores and great food within minutes of the house. We grilled fish and scallops, kids even caught redfish in the canal between trips. Definitely recommend and plan to visit again!

Very nice homey house. Central location. Boat ramp 1 mile away. Easy access out to gulf and scalloping. Easy access to kings bay. Host excellent communication and accommodations. Will definitely stay again.

Comfort and location

Well maintained and beautifully decorated home. Our family enjoyed all the amenities from the large open kitchen and living area, comfortable bedrooms, to the hot tub, dock and even the games. They have definitely spent the time to make sure everything is covered. Communication is prompt and even had excellent recommendations for the area. We had an excellent vacation and their home definitely made it complete.

Christmas in Crystal River

This house was the perfect place to call home over our holiday. Spacious, relaxing, clean, plenty to keep the teens busy, loved using the kayaks and seeing manatees and dolphins on the river. We did a little fishing, used the hot tub most mornings and nights and enjoyed bird watching from the screen porch. If we visit the area again I would definitely stay here.

Great first trip to Crystal River

House was very clean and provided everything we needed for a great trip. It was in an excellent location for us to access the river by boat, centralized between the gulf and springs. The location allowed us to have a day of fishing, a day for scalloping and a day to relax and enjoy the springs! Lots of great memories were made. Looking forward to another trip one day!

Awesome! Great location. Everything worked. No problems. House very clean and comfortable.canal with very little traffic. Great dock with access to electric and water. Kids loved the hot tub and games. Plenty of room. Plenty of parking Space. Owner very responsive for questions etc.

Great stay

We stayed for our annual scalloping vacation and the house had everything we needed and more. Neighbors were wonderful, our kids made a new friend :) we brought our 27ft boat and had no problem docking or getting out of the canal. We would love to stay again!

Awesome house & location!

We had a great long weekend John’s house! He even let us know when the house was clean in case we wanted to check in early. The house is so spacious, we only ate 1 meal out thanks to the fantastic kitchen & grill outside. Neighborhood is more than welcoming. Would definitely stay here again!!!

We did not want to leave!

There were four of us needing a place to stay for 4 nights while waiting to close and move into our new home in Citrus County. This place worked perfectly for us. Very comfortable and it had everything you could possibly need. We felt like we were on vacation. We made use of the hot tub, the kayaks and the fishing rod. The neighbors were very friendly as well. Will definitely book this home again in the future for family and friends that come to visit!

Great host and spacious home

We’ve stayed here before and changes we suggested on our last stay were made by John. That is rare in my opinion and it made it more comfortable for what we do. Which is fish and clean fish! Lol The house has ample room and activities for about any age, it was clean and well appointed and John is very attentive and accommodating. The neighbors are all friendly as well and I would definitely stay again.

Amazing find in Crystal River

This property was everything we could have asked for. It is exactly as pictured. The open floor plan is great and the bedrooms are spacious, especially the master. We really enjoyed the screened in porch and the hot tub. The kayaks were our favorite amenity. We used them every day. The location of house is great as well. It is a 10-15 minute drive to the heart of Crystal River and Fort Island beach is 5 minutes down the road. John was super helpful and very responsive. This really was an amazing find!

Great house and location!

Highly recommend! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this great house! John was very responsive and even met us at the house to show us around when we checked in. The house was very clean and provided everything we needed for our family of 5 to enjoy the week. The location was perfect! The neighborhood was so peaceful and the neighbors we met were very friendly. We had fun kayaking and paddle boarding around in the canals (we brought our own paddle boards). We rented a pontoon boat for a few days and found it easy to navigate in the canal, even at low tide. The hot tub was very clean and we really enjoyed it in the mornings and evenings when it was still relatively cool out. Thanks so much, John, for a wonderful visit to Crystal River! We will definitely visit your lovely home again!

John and Leonette live in Brooksville Florida (about a 40 minute drive from the property). Leonette is a retired teacher, John is a retired banker. We have owned a vacation home in Crystal River since 1999. We love the area.

This property is spacious, clean and very relaxing. The backyard setting with the screen porch that includes comfortable seating and a spa is second to none. Single story, no stairways. Everything is ground level for easy access.

What makes this property unique

Great area for outdoor activities including biking and kayaking. A floating dock allows for boat mooring and kayak launching. Inside is pleasant and includes a bumper pool table and seating for 10 at a farm table. Also, bar seating for four overlooking the kitchen and living area is included. There’s lots and lots of room.
