The house, the property were perfect. It was peaceful, and beautiful. Perfect for family to come and spend the night and to have a nice master bedroom and TV for our privacy. We would love to come again.
What a beautiful view and a quiet location.
Loved the pier and watching sunsets on the swing.

Awesome place! Awesome week!
Our family was beyond thrilled with this vacation rental! (Wish we could buy it!!!) Our visitors included ages 3-97, and every one of us felt satisfied and comfortable with the physical setup and all possible activities: swimming, crabbing, kayaking, eating fresh Eastern Shore tomatoes and corn, sitting around gabbing, even practicing our musical instruments. We absolutely DID NOT MISS the hustle and bustle of our life back in the suburbs and didn't even turn on the TV except for a little bit of cartoon watching by the kids one day. And the sunsets were glorious, incredible, awesome, humbling. We could not have asked for a better week. We are ready to go back!!
Great place. To see that sunset without worrying about crowd is well worth the drive.
Crabs, kayak, bikes, rays, sunrise, sunset. Makes it a great vacation spot away from everything.
Early morning and late in the day, you need insect repellent, Kayaks could use a better paddle.
A splendid home on a stunning piece of property with an superb view of the water out to the Chesapeake Bay. We were grateful the owners were willing to share it with us. We enjoyed the Kayak's, caught a couple of crabs in the crab trap, watched sunsets from the dock and enjoyed the peace that only the water can offer.
If peace and quiet is what you're looking for, this is the place!
We loved the house/property. Listing was accurate and communication with the owner was good. We want a clean house, good swimming and nobody on top of us; this house had all three. Swimming off the dock was perfect, I agree swim shoes are nice to have, but a day visitor didn't and she didn't seem bothered. The grandkids visited for a day and loved jumping off the dock and playing ball in the very LARGE yard. We had everything we needed both inside and out. We've rented several homes and I believe this one had the most comfortable bed; they often seem springy and cheap. (Only used the master)The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. If I had to voice a negative I'd say it was the lack of comfortable chairs in the living room; there's one nice comfortable chair and the sofa is okay but the other three chairs just are not comfortable. We loved the house and property and would definitely recommend it and return ourselves.
My brother and I brought our families on vacation and it was the perfect place for us. We swam, fished, crabbed and floated off the private dock. We took the boat out and explored on uninhabited islands and sandbars. There were more than enough amenities on the property to keep our week an active one.
My wife and I had a wonderful one-week stay - an ideal place to both relax and be active. The sunset views from the house, deck, yard, and dock were truly breathtaking. We enjoyed coffee every morning on the dock, star gazed, enjoyed the screened in porch to watch storms at night, went fishing, crabbing, kayaking, and biking pretty much every day. The property was very clean and the WiFi worked great. Tom was a great virtual host prior to and during our stay. Highly recommend if you want to enjoy the Eastern Shore.
Peaceful, quiet, everything you need for a real get a way. Beautiful, restful yet things to do and see nearby. Antiques, nature, wild ponies, sunsets. I can't say enough about the location and the amenities provided in this adorable little slice of heaven on the Chesapeake. We will be back!
We had such a wonderful and relaxing time. The house was exactly how described clean and comfortable. The sunsets were beyond spectacular, it was our favorite part watching the sun go down as we had our late dinners out on the screened in porch. We all enjoyed the kayaks and exploring all the little inlets and watching all the birds and wildlife. It was the perfect place to enjoy hanging with family. Also, some of the friendliest neighbors telling us stories about the area and making dining suggestions. Thanks Tom for a great stay
This was a perfect spot for a quiet and peaceful vacation! We enjoyed the kayaks and bikes - we brought our stand-up paddleboard which was also fun. The sunsets were incredible!
We wish we had brought an umbrella and stand from home - the sun was relentless and the only real shade was from a low southern oak tree in the yard. (The picnic table on the deck was fixed in place and had an umbrella that really didn't provide much shade. The deck reflects the sun and we found it incredibly hot. The west-facing screened porch also didn't provide much shade. and was brutally hot at dinner time) An umbrella that could be brought into the yard or onto the dock would have made being outside much more pleasant. (I guess we're just shade people!) (One more note - there was no cell signal with ATT. The wifi worked well enough for us but was also not 100% reliable.) Nearby golf course was a good time! Overall it was a great house in a lovely, quiet setting.
The location was perfect for the eastern shore. The view was awesome. Had a great time fishing, kayaking, biking and swimming.. Also cooked fresh caught crabs.
We had an absolutely amazing stay at this property! The home itself is perfect — beautiful coastal cottage charm, exceptionally clean, and overlooking the water! We loved spending time on the dock, fishing and kayaking. We played games, watched movies, and ate seafood on the adorable screened porch. It was so nice to have my pre-teen children unplug from their devices and truly enjoy their surroundings and our time together. The location is great, remote and private yet close to the nearby islands for visiting. I promise.. you won’t want to leave! We loved every minute and Tom is such a great host. We cannot wait to return to the Shore!
This was a return trip and my family and I had another wonderful stay. The views are quite spectacular, large flat lawn, a wide variety of water activities, and a lovely comfortable, clean home. The host answers questions without delay and provides very helpful information. A gem of a find when looking for family time in a somewhat remote waterside setting. We thank you once agina!
The house met our expectations and more. Stunning sunsets, lots of fun swimming off the dock, kayaking, crabbing and lazing around in almost complete privacy.
The house is very well maintained, clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we could want and we cooked many family meals, including crab we caught right off the dock!
Tom, the owner was extremely responsive when communicating, although we didn't actually need anything as everything was as advertised.
This is a lovely place to put your feet up and relax.
The only thing to note is needing to take the trash and recycling to the local dump about 12 mins drive away. It wasn't any kind of problem, but best to know it before you rent so you know what to expect.
Thoroughly happy and would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to spend time with friends and family on the Eastern Shore.
We spent a week and had a wonderful time! House has an open relaxing feel, comfortable and very clean. Tom readily answered questions and is a wonderful host. We spent the week relaxing, swimming off the dock, kayaking, and fishing. Large comfortable deck for relaxing by the water but not much shade. The sunsets over the water were spectacular! A rocket launched from NASA Virginia Beach area which we viewed from the back lawn! Several of us took a guided kayak tour to Chatham Winery which was a fun excursion. But overall, no need to leave the property. All the wonders are right there! Thank you Tom and we hope to return very soon.
With the Covid virus rampant we wanted a spot that would easily allow us to be socially distant and on the water without an 8 hr drive and allow us to bring our dogs. We stumbled upon this gem of a house and could not have been happier! The house was exactly as promised and more.
It was a breathtaking sunset when we arrived as if greeting us for a week of relaxation. Every morning we had coffee on the screened in porch and saw geese, blue herons, and other birds as we enjoyed the sunrise. Everyday we swam for hours in the creek - we never saw a single jellyfish and it was wonderful to swim with our 6 yr old who felt safe and confident in the calmer waters than he does at the ocean. Our dogs spent everyday lounging in the shade of the huge tree out back with my 75+ yr old mother who we were also able to coax into the water for a couple of floats and she loved it! Everyday was a nature walk looking for baby crabs, hermit crabs, oysters and more. It was amazing to get our 6yr old away from the screens with zero complaints and him leading the charge!
The house was perfectly clean and was well stocked with books, kitchen gear, outdoor equip, etc. The owners have left great info about the house and the area and were wonderful to work with. The water pressure was excellent as was the a/c and since it was in the 90s all week was very much appreciated! The beds were all very comfy and each of us slept like logs after busy days outdoors!
We are already talking about planning a return next year! We felt so lucky to have found this slice of heaven.
Two notes - bring water shoes!!!! And, there is internet service at the house, but we never got more than a single bar of cell service and usually no service.
Wanted a nice place on the Eastern Shore for our vacation. This house was perfect location, on the beautiful Pungoteague Creek, about half-way up the peninsula. Well-appointed house, large yard, beautiful deck...Kayaks, games, quiet...stunning night skies...quick paddle to the Bay...the list goes on.
Owners were incredibly responsive, even contacted neighbor to bring over additional life vests for our use.
About 20-30 mins. to Onancock and Cape Charles, 1 hr. 15 mins. to Chincoteague/Assateague...
Heartily recommended!
Beautiful area and water and sunset views in a comfortable
well maintained home.
Perfect to rest and enjoy nature - the screened in porch was a wonderful way to enjoy both and avoid the mosquitoes.
This property was everything the owner promised. It was clean, well stocked with everything you could possibly need, and exactly what we were hoping for. The sunsets each night were definitely a highlight, although the sunrises were just as beautiful. We are definitely interested in returning, although we will plan better and arranged for a boat rental which would have been nice for fishing. We knew it would be remote, but be prepared there is not much around unless you are okay driving between 20-30 minutes for some nice restaurant options or to get groceries.
