Malahat Ocean View Oasis- Hot tub, Firepit, BBQ- Cozy getaway close to town
Welcome to our charming cabin. We strive to make this place a home away from home for our guests. Nestled on a 5-acre shared property our cozy home is surrounded by nature, but still near the city. With trails nearby, and some even attached, yet still close to all amenities in Cowichan and Langford, we like to think we have it all here! We are happy to provide guests with all the modern basics you need; plus a hot tub, fire pit, and bbq. We also have baby amenities available upon request.
The space Entering this welcoming home you can park under the covered carport and walk right into the front door where you'll find lovely natural wood finishes, and neutral, bright tones. Downstairs is the laundry closet, and master bedroom- which features a walk-in closet, ensuite bathroom, electric fireplace, and access to the hot tub deck and a lovely propane firepit area. As you continue exploring upstairs you'll find a cozy games corner, a second bathroom and a bedroom. You will also come across an open-concept kitchen, living room, and dining room. Off the kitchen, we have a great covered patio space with a table and seating, as well as a barbeque and large patio cooler. Atop a steep set of stairs from the living room is an adorable loft space, perfect for hiding out with a great book!
Within a 10-minute drive to world famous Malahat Skywalk, as well as two beautiful BC provincial parks; Spectacle Lake (with great swimming) and Goldstream (with water falls, a salmon run in the fall and incredible hiking all year)
We are located only 15 minutes from the heart of Langford, which boasts natural beauty galore, and many delicious restaurants, great shopping, parks, green spaces, and lakes.
Only 30 minutes from the Victoria Harbour, we are a great escape from the noise of the city, but close enough for easy day trips or a nice dinner out.
Being apart of the Cowichan Valley we are also near many incredible vineyards and breweries. Well worth a tour. Also worth a stop is the Duncan Farmers Market if you're here on a Saturday.
Guest access Guests have access to the outdoor space just around the home, including the propane firepit area, carport, and a small yard behind the cabin. Not included is the garage space inside building (separate entrances) or the playground below, due to insurance and liability concerns.
Other things to note This home is located off of the Malahat highway and does have some minor noise pollution, which can be heard while you enjoy the outdoor spaces. Since we are surrounded by mountains and nature, with that comes creatures at times. They leave you alone but may build a web or fly through windows if you leave them open during your stay. If you are sensitive to either we recommend finding somewhere a little more boring to stay.

We had a great stay. The home had everything we needed. The host always responded promptly. A great view as shown in the picture. Easy to get to Victoria and the surrounding area. I highly recommend staying here
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place was very clean and comfortable. It was private, tucked up on a hill, which we absolutely loved. Also, we had a stunning view! The morning sunrise was beautiful. We would definitely return.
This property was beautiful and very well kept. The hot tub and the view are even better than anticipated. The hosts were very attentive and helpful! Would definitely stay again.
What a terrific place for a get-away while visiting the Island. Even though it's so close to the highway, the area is super private. Everything in the home is so comfortable and well appointed. But all you need is the view from the patio. We weren't sent to jail when we confessed to accidentally bringing home a hand towel, but it's ok because we will return it when we rebook for next year!
Beautiful views! This property has everything you need! We were stuck inside a bit more than we would have liked, the weather was a little chilly! But had it been a bit warmer and not so windy we would have spent more time outside as the outdoor space is fantastic!
The place is lovely. It had everything we could have needed! Kitchen is very well stocked. Lots of towels!! The hot tub is great and the master bedroom with the king size bed was very comfortable even had a fireplace. We really enjoyed our weekend and we will miss it
Nothing fancy about this place, but it was quiet and comfortable. Interior was very clean and well kept. New floors, bathrooms, and fixtures. A bit of a drive to get anywhere, but nicely situated for us to explore both Victoria and Nanaimo areas.
We selected this property because our daughter was rowing at Brentwood & it had 2 bathrooms/ 2 Bedrooms. It was a great location for us although 15 minutes to stores & eateries. We got so much more than we expected- even though it was noted on the listing. The views are awesome, the jacuzzi welcoming & the home has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts are lovely while respecting our privacy. I hope to book here again soon.
This is a lovely place, clean and well supplied. The description of the highway noise is accurate by the owner. The hot tub was clean, and we enjoyed the view from the deck. My only recommendation is to have pillow options available.
From the moment we walked through the door, we felt so comfortable. It is cute and adorable. Well kept. Well maintained. Owners responded quickly to any questions. They left out a calendar of events. Beautiful view. The beds were so comfy. Amenities were fantastic. We were so happy staying there. The owner is right in their description though - if you don’t like highway noise, don’t pick this place. It sits right above the Malahat highway. But everything else made up for that. So for us it was amazing and it will be our go to spot for south island trips. Thank you for the wonderful stay!
