Located in Metchosin 30 minutes from Victoria and Sooke. The Hidden Pond spacious family suite is perfect for your family or group getaway or anyone looking for peace and tranquility. Two bedrooms include a large primary (King ) with futon coach and a bunkhouse room (two double and two single bunk beds) both with full ensuite bathrooms making this versatile space works for large families. Full kitchen with dishwasher, laundry, large living space with fireplace opens onto the large covered deck for all-season indoor and outdoor living and dining with spectacular pond and forest views. Hot tub, private beach, swimming pond, firepit, trails, and orchard on 10 private acres make this an oasis with so much to offer. This newly renovated suite can be booked to join with our Hidden Pond Gong Suite for a full property buy-out.

Please note this suite has stairs and it is a walk down to the pond , so this might not be a great option for anyone who has mobility issues.

Beautiful house with gorgeous pond and hiking trails on property! Host was very good about communicating regarding property. Thoughtful touches: muffins, seltzer, fruit for guests along with well-appointed kitchen. Outdoor deck. About a half an hour from downtown Victoria. Note that host controls the heating/cooling but is available to adjust.

Myself, my parents, and our two dogs stayed here and absolutely loved it!! We were a short drive to Victoria (didn't have enough time to explore Sooke or Metchosin this time), and sometimes didn't even want to leave as there was so much to do at the house! It was so quiet and peaceful. We loved the hot tub, pond with floaties, hammock, trail to walk the pups, the incredible deck to watch the sunset, and berry picking. The kitchen was wonderful and had everything we needed to make a special birthday dinner for my dad or anything else! Jo-Ann and Rob were wonderful hosts, fantastic communication. 100/10, would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Amazing place to stay

Great hosts and an amazing location. Quiet area and the place is super roomy and comfortable. We were a group of 6 and we had plenty of room for ourselves and to have friends visit. Highly recommended.

This was a great find! Awesome well equipped suite. We stayed in the family suite and there was 6 of us who were very comfortable. Swimming pond is adorable, hot tub is private and host was attentive and easy to access.

Lovely property

Lovely property with plenty of comfortable relaxation space inside and out. The owners really tried to cover all our needs. The driveway and walkways are pretty steep, which can be expected on a hillside, so as long as you are prepared for that you will have a wonderful stay.

Wonderful secluded property and swimming pond

We had a great stay here, everything was exactly as we had hoped from the listing and photos. Swimming pond was a definite highlight! The hosts struck a perfect balance between being helpful and available when needed but also very relaxed and not in our way at all. We would definitely return and would recommend this stay to friends and family.

The perfect spot for a family weekend getaway

The property has everything. We made great use of the pond, the chip trail, the firepit, the bbq grill and deck, the spacious interior, the well stocked kitchen, the hot tub, the many great rest and relaxation spots. We're all looking forward to coming back again sometime!

Outstanding Vacation!

From the cookies & muffins and fresh fruit upon arrival to the most spectacular sky gazing at night. Its a wonderful place to take the kids and have them exhausted by the end of their swimming day. I couldn't recommend The hidden Pond more. the hosts are wonderful and so it this gem of a holiday spot! Thank you Jo-Ann & Rob, we'll be back!

Great Time at Hidden Pond

The property is beautiful and quiet, we enjoyed time on the large deck eating dinners and lots of other furniture to lounge on. We swam in the pond every day. The inside of the suite is beautifully updated and decorated and was more then enough room for our family of four. The owners and their staff had everything well set up and answered all our questions and gave suggestions for things to do in the area.

Beautiful Property

The hidden pond is a great gem and the way they have developed it. When we arrived there were great treats and you can tell the hosts have a gift of hospitality.We thought we were renting the entire property, just to be clear the owners stay on the top floor (they are very nice), this rental is for the middle floor, and then they have a second part of the house that is rented separately… so there are three sets families there. Our expectations were for complete seclusion so that took us by surprise as we saw people at the pond and talked with them for awhile/. Our expectations were being alone there…. So just wanted to be clear on that. If those are expectations then you will be great and love it. We had a couple of questions while we were there and the owners were very responsive and helpful. Definitely would stay here again, very well finished apartment with lots of space for the 6 person crew with which we were traveling .Our kids loved the paddle boards, huge rubber ducky floaty and stretching out in the pond.We loved the location and the town of Metchosjn was very close… loved the main restaurant there and we went to Haitley Castle and Park and loved that too. Definitely would do the stay again! Thank y’all

Canadian thanksgiving

We wanted a place that could hold 3 families with their own privacy. This place is huge since we booked both units. My grandkids loved the woods and pond. The kitchens are stocked with things needed to cook meals (oil, katchup, etc). The welcome cookies and muffins were appreciated. Great spot

The BEST Host & location

Our host Jo-Ann was so courteous and accommodating that she had a playpen ready for our baby. Not only that, she had snacks and drinks ready for us after our long trip from riding the ferry. So thoughtful! Check in was so smooth and we regularly had contact with the host. The location is so quiet and nice but also very convenient. Only a 10 mins drive to a local grocery store. Very close to downtown. The property has an amazing trail, hot tub and a pond to just soak your feet or swim in. With 4 kids, the bunk bed room was perfect. Finally, the cleanliness of the rooms and amenities were impeccable. We will definitely be back !

Beautiful retreat

We stayed here for a work retreat so we didn't fully use all of the amenities. Nonetheless, it was a beautiful place to be.The directions were clear to get to the house. The road off the highway has barely any street lights. So when it rains, drive slower as it is really dark and somewhat windy.The house was fully stocked and then some. The hosts provided a lot of extras (especially the kitchen) that weren't in the listing so in some ways, we overpacked. Next time, we'll make sure to email first and ask. Otherwise, it is a very roomy, yet cozy house. It can get a little noisy with the footsteps and pets from upstairs. It was fine for us but if you are a light sleeper, be prepared. That's about the only thing we can think of that could be an issue. Otherwise, the house is perfect. We would love to come back in the future.

Girls get away at Hidden Pond

We just spent the long weekend enjoying ourselves at Hidden pond. We were welcomed to baked treats in the fully stocked kitchen and had friendly service. Excellent communication through out and Jo-Anne was supper quick to address any questions on site. There are so many great areas on the property to visit with friends. By the propane fire pit by the pond or wood fire pit by the suite. Our huge deck with comfortable furniture and spacious living area gave ample space for friends to gather inside or out. So peaceful in the woods with the sun shining and birds singing. Comfortable beds and a super fun bunk house. Truly a great spot to spend time. Highly recommended! Thanks Jo-Anne for sharing your oasis.

Fabulous Get-Away

We had a wonderful mini vacation at Hidden Pond. Our hosts were great at communicating with us, right from the time of our booking to responding to a few questions that we had and during our stay. The entire suite is really beautiful and you can see the care and attention that went into decorating it. They really thought of all the little details. We had such a great time swimming and floating on the pond and enjoyed our walks around the property. There is even (a very clean) porta-potty nearby to use so you don't have to walk all the way up the hill to use the washroom. We would bring our snacks and refreshments in a small cooler and stay down by the pond for hours, there is equal amounts of sun & shaded areas to enjoy. *The only thing we would add is that for future stays, it would be great to have a 12-cup coffee maker provided, as there was only a French press, and we really just wanted to press a button to brew, no fuss or muss! The hot tub was a short walk up a small hill through a little garden filled with blueberries and flowers. The hot tub fits 4 people comfortably with seating around the edge, & white fluffy robes are even provided. We will definitely be returning to this great place. Many thanks to our hosts!

Cozy, Clean & Amazing Hosts

The host stayed in contact with us as we arrived on Vancouver Island to make sure that we found our way to their property and to offer a warm friendly welcome. Help with the luggage up the stairs to our suite was offered and the room temperature was quickly adjusted to our satisfaction from the thermostat in their living quarters above our suite. The host's availability and willingness to resolve any 'settling in' requests was impressive due to her high degree of cooperation and understanding; simply put, she is a lovely person. It was apparent that the host makes an effort to live quietly while tenants are in residence living below them and also to keep their pets from disrupting their guest's privacy. We have allergies and the suite was so clean that there was no allergic reaction to previous tenant's pets and the hosts kept their own dogs away from us at all times. There was lots of hot water for long showers, a plentiful supply of towels, a well equipped kitchen, a week's supply of muffins, cookies and fruit set out in the kitchen and comfortable furniture for reading and TV viewing. While cycling on the Galloping Goose Trail we ran into some difficulties (lost truck keys) and the willing assistance offered by the host and and her husband was remarkable and deeply appreciated. They went above and beyond what was expected.

Hi, we are Rob and Jo-Ann Kevala. We are both semi-retired now and enjoy life on this amazing 10 acre property. Never a shortage of gardening! We love dogs and have three of our own on the property. We welcome visitors with their own pets. Our goal in opening Hidden Pond was to share this amazing property with other amazing people and provide a luxury option for people who want to travel with their own pets.

Why they chose this property

Hidden Pond became a reality in 2020. As we began to develop our property and build trails through the forest we found an amazing spring-fed pond hidden in the woods. Alot of landscaping and a year of work we spent reclaiming this pond from the wild. Today it is the home of a private beach, pergola and where we spend our summer and winter months

What makes this property unique

Hidden Pond is a unique retreat. Often people come planning to visit Victoria and Metchosin, then find the pond and don't leave the property for their stay. Whether you choose to relax in the hot tub, sit on the beach, wander the forest trails on the property, play with your pet in the orchard or warm your toes at the firepit in the evenings you won't find a more relaxing getaway.

We operate as both a Bed and Breakfast and vacation rental so lots of options for your stay. This suite can also be rented to join with the other Hidden Pond Gong Suite.
