About this property

Modern, Sunset-Facing Waterfront Cottage

Our cottage is a recently renovated, lakefront 4-season cottage with direct west-facing, nightly sunset views on a level property.

A modern but rustic interior inc central heat/AC & Level 2 EV Charger. Additional features inc stand up paddleboard, kayaks, brand new paddle boat, workspace, badminton net & King-sized bed as well as new dock installed in 2024.

Whether you're seeking a peaceful getaway, fun-filled adventure, or simply a chance to reconnect with nature, our cottage offers a tranquil escape where the sounds of loons and light waves caressing the shores are the norm.

The space
The cottage sits level to the lake and faces west, to perfectly catch the stunning, nightly sunsets. The immediate waterfront is sandy with scattered rocks - no weeds.

Parents have a clear view of the kids playing in the water from one of two decks, where you can also savour your morning coffee, indulge in a delicious barbecue, or enjoy a glass of wine taking in the sounds of nature and breathtaking display of colors or a dark-night sky.

The water itself has gradual entry and is very shallow at the start, making it perfect for kids and smaller children. The waters also tend to warm up faster than other lakes as Varty is in general not as deep.

The property is so well-treed, you can’t see it from the road! The abundance of trees and foliage make it more private from neighbours and really makes you feel like you have your own piece of the forest - not to mention that some parts provide ample shade.

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by a clean and quaint atmosphere that blends modern touches with rustic elements. New floors, doors and all new windows were added in 2023 making the inside feel modern and chic.

But don’t be fooled, the large patio door and bright awning-style windows remind you that you are truly in nature, with panoramic views of the shimmering lake and surrounding trees allowing you to feel truly immersed in the tranquil surroundings.

The cottage boasts a brand new, recently renovated, fully-equipped kitchen that includes modern, brand new appliances including a dishwasher, flat-top stove and new fridge with a fully consumable water filter.

The living room area is a spacious, urban-style haven with cottage-y touches complete with a pull-down sofa bed (sleeps 2), live edge coffee table and brand new, 51 inch Samsung Smart TV. A workspace desk is also available with a chair to set your laptop down to catch up on work or research your week’s activities.

The dining room includes a rustic Edison-lit chandelier with a brand new, locally handcrafted, solid wood dining room set with a bench that altogether can seat 7.

At the end of the day, retreat to the comfort of our well-appointed bedrooms, where peaceful nights of restful sleep await. Wake up refreshed and ready to embark on another day of adventure or simply revel in the tranquility of the surroundings.

The master bedroom includes two lake-view windows, a King-sized bed, nightstands, closet and dresser. The second bedroom offers a sunrise-view window with closet, dresser, games drawer (with poker set) and a single-over-double bunk bed that can sleep a total of 3.

Finally, the bathroom was also recently renovated continuing the modern/rustic charm with barn-door vanity, Edison light bulbs and new shower stall.

About the host

Hosted by Ivan Sandoval

Host profile image
Hailing from Burlington, Ontario, my wife Danielle and I spent the majority of our children's toddler years renting cottages.

Our familiarity with cottage rentals stems from this experience, as we know precisely what features and amenities we value in such accommodations.

This background fuels our passion for hosting cottage rentals, allowing us to provide guests with a tailored and fulfilling experience.

Why they chose this property

Having parents reside in Prince Edward County acquainted us with the Eastern Ontario Region, where you can still relish the beauty of serene lakes within a tranquil environment.

Steering clear of Highway 400 and the overwhelming traffic during summer and long weekends significantly enhances the overall vacation experience in our part of the Province.

What makes this property unique

Our property boasts a west-facing orientation, ensuring breathtaking and distinctive sunsets every evening. Nestled in Lennox & Addington County, renowned for the darkest skies in Ontario, our location offers unparalleled stargazing opportunities.

Situated at lake level, our property offers pristine frontage, free from weeds, with sandy shores and scattered rocks for effortless swimming.

We prioritize modern conveniences, providing amenities such as Wi-Fi, a Smart TV, a Level 2 Flo EV charger with Tesla adapter, a Smart thermostat, and new appliances within the home.
