The 1st bedroom has 2 doubles, the 2nd bedroom has 2 singles, and the living room has a double. Large living room with open floor plan, new flat panel TV, DVD, high speed internet, and BBQ. No smoking. QUIET HOURS: 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. (use of outdoor areas strictly prohibited). 219CL | | | This vacation home rents on a nightly basis (2 night minimum, holidays and selected dates excepted; 3 night minimum mid-June through Labor Day).

Great holiday stay!

This is our fourth time staying at this property and it never disappoints. The rooms are small but comfortable, and the location could not be better. The working wood-burning fireplace added extra ambience and allowed us to enjoy our evenings cozied up with a great book. We will continue to book this house again it again every time we visit the island.

This is a great property with lots of space for multiple adults and children. Fantastic location. Two cleanliness issues bothered us. One of the red blankets on the bed had stains on it. The other issue was an **extremely foul odor** like a dead animal coming from the trash bins out front. With the front windows open and bedroom windows open at night, this odor wafted through the entire house. It was really bad. The good thing is that these two cleanliness issues can be remedied, and I'm sure the owners will address these issues. You can tell that this home is cared for by a loving family that enjoys spending time there as well. My friends and I would rent this cottage again.

The house next door to this property is being rebuilt and in a state deconstruction. Lots of dirt and debris from the work. The street the house is on is very convenient to the beach Access, but is also a major road with lots of traffic all day and well into the nights and mornings. Since the house is not A/C you must leave the windows open to be cool enough to enjoy. So you get constant road noise and fumes from old gas carts. House needs some basic repairs such as replaced ceiling fan in one room, window locks and curtain’s desperately need cleaned. Bathroom is also in need of an upgrade. Overall the house has a cute vibe and has a classic Catalina bungalow feel to it. Just needs to have some love put back into it.

Great location, beautiful home, all 4 beds linens were fresh and clean, beds are supper comfy, spacious and clean home, close to Vons, restaurants, and plenty of shopping. I can't write it all here but I can say that this will be my go-to whenever I'm here from now on.

the place was fully equipped. the portable fans were extremely dirty when we turned them on, dust was flying everywhere. maybe have your cleaning crew try to dust them....major allergies otherwise, we loved staying there.

Maggie’s independence cottage

The day prior to check in I was told on the phone I could check in early because the house was not occupied. Upon arrival Natalie was less than friendly. Maggie’s cottage was in fair shape, kitchen could use some updating.

Way overpriced and checkout is too early

The location is good, within walking distance of Avalon’s downtown. That’s pretty much it tho. The house was dirty upon arrival and is pretty run down. Wouldn’t mind the fact that the house is not in good condition if it wasn’t for the really high price. I thought the goal would be to bring people to the island to make the local commerce work instead of insanely high rental prices to feed the renting company’s pocket... Also the checkout at 10am is pretty ridiculous especially because the cleaners were literally parked in front of the house at 9:30am waiting for us to leave.

Watch for the old shell game

The cottage was completely adequate. It is older and a bit run down, but it seems on par with the other cottages in the area. The location was fantastic. It was an easy walk from the pier and to the shops, activities and restaurants. Great place for a weekend getaway. Watch out for the rental agency, Catalina Island Vacation Rental. They tried to spring a “late check-in fee” on me.

The beds seemed old and the linens and blankets could use updating. One of the two twin beds squeaks and groans so loudly, it woke everyone up every time my sister moved at all in the bed. Slipcovers are a bit shabby and need to be cleaned or replaced on the living room chairs/daybed.

Mostly what was expected from the listing.

Cottage is super cute and location is perfect. You can walk everywhere and get your morning coffee in less than 5 minutes. The place is definitely a little run down. The toilet made some awful screeching noise every time you flushed and the back screen door was all pushed out. Also, they say there is a grill but you have to bring charcoal! (Minor but it was a little bit of a nuisance when we went to use it) over all I think we would stay here again, location was great and house has pretty much anything you could need and then some.

Not my favorite place but would stay again

I just have a few recommendations. A few things could've been cleaner. The two chairs in the living room are pretty worn down and look like they can use a good shampoo to them or just new ones in general. The pillow shams on my bed looked like they never got taken off to be washed. And the beds were all quite noisy whenever anyone moved around. For what I needed for the 1 night me and my friends were there it was fine but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who has pretty high cleanliness standards. I hate having to leave negative reviews but I hope this will help the owner in renting it out more in the future.

Great beach house, although we had the unfortunate luck to plan our vacation Labor Day weekend during the heat wave. The house was so hot because there was no air conditioning. It was so hot we couldn't cool the house down with the fans provided and had to stay in a hotel the first two nights. We ended up at the house the last night and really enjoyed ourselves.

Perfect place to stay on the island

Our girls trip was great. We could walk everywhere and not get lost. The golf carts we rented were a great touch too. The cottage was nice. It was clean and perfect for the 3 of us. Would stay again.
