Located just across the street from the beach 100 steps to beach access, Pacific Gem puts you close to the Chinook Winds Casino, shopping, dining, and golf, but it’s also between a pair of beach access points that will free you to enjoy miles and miles of sandy beach and surf. The spacious separate dining room in the front of the home has a rustic tile floor and windows on three sides to let in plenty of sunlight and views between homes to the ocean—a perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee or a relaxing sunset meal. The comfortable living room has a gas fireplace and a large flat-screen TV/DVD, and the fully equipped kitchen includes a breakfast bar and seating for four. A half flight up, a king-bedroom suite includes an outdoor oceanview balcony; a queen bedroom also has ocean views. Beautiful Weekend Getaway

We spent a long weekend with our 3 young kids, and another couple who has an infant. Overall we loved the house. It was very cozy, the kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed, we could see and hear the ocean, and it was a short walk to the beach. The master was spacious and beautiful! We especially loved the large dining table and the gas fireplace right next to it. A couple things to note for future guests: the water heater is very small. We couldn’t fill the bath tub all the way for the kids before the water turned cold, so even though there are two bathrooms, showers will need to be spaced out. The fold out couch downstairs is a very comfortable memory foam mattress which was a wonderful surprise, however the two mattresses in the main bedrooms were very, very firm, which could be a positive or negative depending on your preference. And lastly, the listing says there’s a twin bed with a trundle and a travel crib. This made for some confusion when we showed up thinking there was a third bedroom with a trundle bed that wasn’t pictured, but we were able to make it work. Lastly, the seal on the front door isn’t tight, so when the wind picks up it sounds like someone is using a leaf blower right outside. We often had to keep the door open or cracked to reduce the noise. Overall, a wonderful stay and nothing that would prevent us from coming back! But some of that info would have been helpful to have ahead of time, so I want to provide that to others.

Wonderful family getaway

The house felt newly, and nicely furnished. Kitchen was very well equipped. The easy beach access was wonderful. It was a happy family time, escaping the valley's heat and smoke and enjoying the clear, cool beach air.

Just Call for Check-In

The Vrbo app was fantastic in helping us to search and find a vacation rental. The home we stayed in was perfect for our needs: budget friendly and located right near everything. The home was clean, cute, and well stocked. We were able to walk to the beach in less than five minutes! Five stars. Meredith lodging gets two stars. It was difficult to get the check-in information from Meredith Lodging. I started with the in-app messaging system. They told me the information would be sent over once I signed a rental agreement. I checked my email repeatedly. Nothing. I live almost five hours away and would be traveling through poor cell range. I was hoping to have the check-in process wrapped up the day before. When I messaged again, I was told to check my spam folder. Again, nothing. I texted again, asking for their patience and received zero additional feedback. I was literally traveling five hours, to a place, with a non-refundable agreement, with zero information, no address and no check-in information. The next, morning I called Meredith Lodging. The lady that took my call confirmed my email address and said nothing had been sent. ??? She promptly sent the information to me and I had it 30 seconds later. There was never another mention of a rental agreement. This process was a bit stressful. So, the point, just call for the information, don't bother with the messaging system.
