In the back outdoor space directly behind the guesthouse, there is privacy from neighbors and other dwellings. Connect with nature, look across the valley to spot the waterfall on the distant ridge as you enjoy the 7-person hot tub or have a steam in the electric, round cedar barrel sauna.

This property includes an eight-acre coniferous tree farm. The owners also manage Xylem Silviculture, a forestry company dedicated to maintaining forest ecosystems through forest health and silviculture practices.

The agri-forestry initiative aims to engage and educate visitors on land stewardship and the indigenous conifers under observation on the premises, including lodgepole pine, spruce, fir, cedar, hemlock, and whitebark pine.

This project encompasses monitoring and surveillance techniques implemented on our farm to safeguard the trees' health against diseases such as Fir Beetle, Blister Rust, Gall Rust, and Mountain Pine Beetle. The trees undergo planting, pruning, and thinning processes. Certain trees are descendants of parent trees deliberately preserved on the property for natural seeding.

Additionally, high-altitude whitebark pine trees (5-needle pines), a keystone species vital as a food source for various wildlife (birds, deer, elk, grouse, black and grizzly bears) are undergoing trial planting on the land. These unique trees were procured from a genetic research facility seed lot and are assessed annually by our survey team for their resistance to blister rust, a disease endangering their species.

The home features a beautiful full kitchen with seating for 6 and all basic amenities like spices, oils, and of course, local No 6 coffee! The living room has a smart tv and a sectional couch with a double sized pull-out bed. The large bedroom has a deluxe king-sized bed and down duvet.

There are two comfortable single foam floor mattresses to accommodate extra guests if needed.

The luxurious bathroom features a custom tiled shower and rain shower head, a soaker tub, and heated floors for cozy mornings.

Washer and dryer are included in a separate space within the unit.

This custom residence is fully accessible, (no stairs), with a tiled entryway, and has ample level parking just outside the front door.

If you would like to use the fire pit, fire wood is available at the gas station down the road but is usable only when there are not government-issued campfire bans which can occur locally in the dry, summer months.

This is a Kootenay Dream: no hills, steep driveways, or stairs!
