Paul was a great host and was very responsive to all our questions. We loved the house. Great location and very clean with beautiful landscaping and lots of light. Also, having the bikes available for use was great!
What a great place to stay. The history of this home and pioneering family who built it. They have owned this home for 70 years. The lawn and landscape are beautiful. When we go back to Anchorage this home is where we will stay
Excellent home in a convenient location and with interesting history
Rental was exactly as described and even better in many ways. Very convenient location. Beautiful yard and green space in the city; convenient location within Anchorage; the garage access was appreciated; interesting family and home history on how this “treehouse” was conceived and then constructed
This is a spacious home that suited us 4 adults and 3 children. It was a big bonus for us to have use of the bikes provided as we could access the Coastal Trail from there. The central location made it easy to get to most places of interest. Our only thought is that the home itself is getting a little tired and could use some refreshing.

Owner very friendly and helpful
It was unusually hot temperature there and could not cool off the property during the day.
Conveniently located 0.5 miles south east of downtown and 0.5 miles north of the bike trail, we had an excellent stay in anchorage. Paul was a kind host, allowing us to leave our luggage several hours early on our check-in day while we explored downtown Anchorage. Then to our dining delight he brought us fresh caught Sockeye Salmon filets. We took full advantage of the location, walking 6 blocks to the remarkable Anchorage Museum, checking out the local breweries and taking several bicycle rides on the Coastal Trail!! I would note, Paul keeps two bikes in good condition and makes them available to guests. A nice touch!I would also note, catching an Uber in Anchorage is quick and easy for a trip to the Zoo or an early morning ride to the RR Depot. We only wish we could have stayed longer, but we had a train to catch!!

Nice Place, Great Location, Friendly Owner!
The property is conveniently located within walking distance of the city center, and it was a quick Uber from the airport and to the train station. The neighborhood was nice and felt safe. The closest grocery store was about a 10-minute walk. The house was built by the owner's father as we learn from the owner. He introduced himself and brought us some of his fresh catch of the day and some vegetables from his garden which we enjoyed very much. The layout of the house worked out well for our family and everyone had their own space to enjoy. This was our first time in Alaska, and we were pleasantly surprised. This house was a great homebase for our many adventures. We plan on coming back to Alaska and will be sure to stay here again when we visit Anchorage.

Cozy and Convenient
The house was conveniently located to pretty much everything. The house was also well stocked. My room had four sturdy pillows...in other places that I stayed, there was typically two pillows that looked fluffy until lay your head on it, than they were flat as pancakes. There was also a full size washer and dryer, laundry detergent, bath robes and lots of towels. There are also two parking spaces, a carport and enclosed garage. We had a mid-sized SUV that fit perfectly. A larger car might need to park on the street. The yard was amazing. Although we didn't spend much time in it, there was an outdoor deck with table and chairs and a large garden that's taken care of by the owner, who lives next door. He stopped by to say hi, gave us a tour of the garden, at our request, and gave us freshly picked rhubarb.
