Wellesley Cottage - great location, close to city, river and mountain
Wellesley Cottage, a comfortable 1920s home enhanced by typical features of the period is situated in a very early settled part of Hobart.
This home has 2 comfortable bedrooms, main with ensuite.
A modernised open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area opens on to a paved area complete with wood fired pizza oven, barbecue and outdoor dining setting.
The house is a short 30 minute walk to the city or Salamanca Place via the Rivulet track or the local streets.
The space
The cottage is perfect any time of year with a reverse cycle heat pump, and a fan assisted radiator for the cooler nights. There is also a panel heater in the hallway.
The living/dining/kitchen area is comfortably furnished with quality leather couches, dining table and chairs, and a large sit up island bench.
The modern fully equipped kitchen includes a Smeg gas stove, a Miele dishwasher, microwave, a Lavazza Moda Mio coffee machine and a soda stream.
The Panasonic smart TV is connected to a BOSE sound system. There is also fast NBN wireless internet that is freely available to guests.
Both the comfortable beds have hotel quality linen and doonas, and electric blankets ensuring a good nights sleep on the chilly nights.
The main bathroom has a separate shower and luxury spa tub, the ensuite has a shower over the bath. The laundry is conveniently situated in the main bathroom.
Up a few steps from the rear outdoor area is the carport for 1 car, free on street car parking is generally available at the front gate. There are steps from the front gate to the front door, although it is possible to access the house from the back via the rising side path from the front gate, 1 step up from the pavement.
The house is fitted with an alarm for added security.
A lovely view of the city, glimpses of the River Derwent, the Tasman Bridge and far hills can be seen from the verandah.
